A black bourgeoisie perspective on U.S. politics
The President set a list of policies that he feels legislators should be able to agree on, regardless of party. Such policies listed by the President were: continued tax relief for middle-class families; allowing businesses to defer taxes on the equipment they buy next year; and increasing, as well as making permanent, the Research and Experimentation tax credit. The President also reiterated his belief that a strong economy is linked to investments in education, infrastructure, and clean energy.
Finally, regardless of the outcome of Tuesday’s elections, the President stressed a need for legislators to act in the best interest of the American people, not in the partisan interests of party politics.
