Good Afternoon Family,

I wrote to you a few weeks ago about taking a stand, it’s either Glenn Beck’s way or the Gulf Coast’s way this August 28th and 29th.

Since then the President has announced (August 13th) that he will be spending the 29th in New Orleans to commemorate the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and speak to the path forward for the Gulf Coast.

This was a few days after (August 9th) the President hosted the Saints at the White House, which I had the privilege of attending.

If you are in the area, join us this Sunday at 10:00am at the point where the levees breached in the Lower 9th Ward. After a healing ceremony, we will march and Secondline 3 miles to Hunter’s Field for an afternoon of speakers and performers. All the information is up at www.hiphopcaucus.org/katrina.

As my good friend Sess 4-5 says in the video below

“Yeah the Saints won the Superbowl, you know what I’m sayin’. Yeah the French Quarter is back, but we still struggling out here in the city, man, you feel me? So we need all our people to stand up, you know what I’m sayin’, and hold it down. We got a soldier mentality.”
