Hey there — it’s time once again for the Black Weblog Awards. The visionaries behind BWA saw in 2005 that black bloggers deserved recognition from their own community. The number of black blogs has mushroomed since that early time.

Here at JJP — we’ve been surprised, delighted and honored to receive Black Weblog Awards for our work in the past. And we’ve supported the Awards in turn — it’s a great place to see a quick pick of the growing universe of amazing and smart bloggers who happen to be black. I can’t recommend the Past Winners pages highly enough.

We’d like to ask for your support again this year — if you like JJP, please head over to the Black Weblog Award Nomination page. You may need to click through a few pages to 5 and 6 to nominate us in these types of categories:

Best Group Blog Nominee http://cherylcontee.wpengine.com
Best Political or News Blog Nominee http://cherylcontee.wpengine.com
Best Writing in a Blog Nominee http://cherylcontee.wpengine.com
Blog of the Year Nominee http://cherylcontee.wpengine.com

There are lots of other categories too – fashion, parenting, food, science, culture, hip hop, etc – so please vote for your other favorite blogs while you’re there. There are 35 categories in all, which is pretty impressive when you stop and think about it.
