There is no middle ground.

You can’t pick and choose what you believe about the Constitution. You have to take it all or nothing.

The latest from Ms. Lindsey, Country Last and LIEberman…

from Think Progress:

Shortly after the media broke the news that authorities had arrested Faisal Shahzad as a suspect in the May 1 Times Square bombing attempt, conservative lawmakers began complaining that even though he’s an American citizen, authorities should deprive him of his Miranda rights. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said that Mirandizing Shahzad would be “a serious mistake,” and Rep. Peter King (R-NY) said, “Did they Mirandize him? I know he’s an American citizen but still.” Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-CT) suggested that Congress should perhaps create a process to strip “American citizens who choose to become affiliated with foreign terrorists” of their citizenship.

In today’s Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on “Terrorists and Guns,” and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he wholeheartedly agreed with his colleagues and wanted to write legislation that would allow authorities to deprive them of their rights:

GRAHAM: I want to stop reading these guys their Miranda rights. Me and Peter are so much on board here. …

Stop reading Miranda rights?

Stripping someone of their citizenship?

Funny, never heard of them calling for Timothy McVeigh’s citizenship to be revoked. How about Charles Manson? Bundy? Gacy?

There are all sorts of evil people doing evil things in this country, and yet, when it comes to ‘terrorist’ suspects, suddenly, these big, bad conservatives have no faith in the ‘ LAW AND ORDER’ that they would beat the rest of us over the head with all the time.

Their willingness to SHRED the Constitution on a whim is something I find appalling and alarming. Country Last was the ALTERNATIVE TO BE PRESIDENT last election.

But, all of them, as they take their oath to be a Senator:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

not SHRED it.

and, that is what they propose to do. Shred the Constitution, and diminish civil liberties.

IF the justice system of the United States is so fragile that it can’t take on and defeat punk wannabee terrorists – then it’s not much of a system to begin with.

Attempting to dismantle fundamental liberties within the Constitution is about a UN-American as one can get. And, this from the flag-waving, casting aspersions on someone ELSE’S patriotism in a nano-second.

Country Last, Ms. Lindsey, LIEberman…

if you don’t love America, and have no faith in America, then you can leave it, and the Constitution.
