I know you share my concern & compassion for the people of Chile after the 8.8 earthquake there. I was struck by how the people trying to get food, water and first aid from abandoned local stores have been portrayed in the media as looters and criminals. There’s no way to buy provisions — these stores are closed. What else are the people to do? These folks are trying to survive in the wake of inadequate and slow relief from their own government.

Katrina, much?

Let’s continue to pray for those there (and still in Haiti) who are homeless, hungry, sick, thirsty, trapped and/or afraid.
