U.S. President Obama met with AllAfrica.com reporters Charles Cobb, Jr., Reed Kramer and Tamela Hultman at the White House to discuss issues facing the continent ahead of his upcoming trip to Ghana. Parts 1 and 2 of the interview are below. Obama says that Ghana was his first choice since it has a stable and prosperous democracy that is an example for the region.

Somewhere great African-American & Pan-Africanist W.E.B. Du Bois — who moved to Ghana, became a citizen at 95 and is buried there — is doing the moonwalk. Ha. I hope Malia and Sasha get to go, too.
