My flight to DC was filled with local VIPs and entire black families. The rare black male flight attendent informed us that we were on the Obama Express and the cabin erupted with cheers and applause, arms-a-waving. Woo!

The spirit on the flight was amazing with the dad of an Asian American family looking pretty pumped. The white man next to me reading Dreams Of My Father actually pulled up my blanket when it fell as I slept.

Here’s an adorable couple in their Obama gear. I later learned that he’s a well-known politician in Oakland. It’s interesting the generational difference in cold weather strategies. Older black folk are rockin’ the furs and younger folk like me have on ski and north face survival gear.
