McCain tried to diss Ms. Ifill yesterday on “Fox and Friends” (of course) saying:

Frankly, I wish they had picked a moderator [for tonight’s VP Debate] that isn’t writing a book favorable to Barack Obama,” McCain said of Ifill, who is examining the rise of the Illinois Democrat and other post-civil rights black leaders. “Let’s face it. But I have to have to have confidence that Gwen Ifill will handle this as the professional journalist that she is. Life isn’t fair, as I mentioned earlier in the program.”

No, Johnny Mac – life isn’t fair, especially to liars, cowards, imbeciles and whiners. The McCain camp in fact agreed to Ifill way back in early August when her book was already public. I told you Ms. Gwen ain’t playin with y’all scrubs. When asked about the controversy, she had this to say:

“Do you think they made the same assumptions about Lou Cannon (who is white) when he wrote his book about Reagan?” said Ifill, who is black. Asked if there were racial motives at play, she said, “I don’t know what it is. I find it curious.”

You can help. Demand the Debate 2008 is back. Sign the Petition to support Gwen Ifill as moderator of the Vice Presidential Debate and push back against blatant racist & partisan tactics.

Sign the petition and tell McCain that the American public has the right to hear our candidates running for the highest office in the United States discuss their views and policy positions on the economic crisis, Iraq and foreign policy, education, health care, etc. And thanks…
