…than campaign for John McCain.  You can’t make this shyt up.  Hat tip AmericaBlog, via the Miami Herald:

Even Gov. Charlie Crist, who helped deliver Florida for McCain during the primary, said he will spend the final weeks before Election Day minding the state’s weak economy rather than campaigning for the Arizona senator.

”When I have time to help, I’ll try to do that,” Crist said last week, after he flew around the state with McCain running mate Sarah Palin. Saturday, he skipped a McCain football rally and instead went to Disney World. (emphasis mine)

Let’s recap:

• McCain allowed his campaign rallies, as well as his running mate’s, to turn into Klan rallies.  Check.
• McCain is trying to dig up Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers and tie them to Obama, but that’s turning off the group of voters he needs to reach.  Check
• Sarah Palin gets booed when introduced to do the ceremonial hockey puck drop, and pimps out daughter Piper to deflect the booed reception she got.  Check.
• McCain’s own Republican Leadership is calling him out for running a piss-poor campaign, and showing arrogance, hubris, lack of judgement and being less than the promoted “Maverick” by putting Sarah Palin on the ticket.  Check.
• Palin is refusing to cooperate with a State Investigation initiated by her party’s leadership, and has since issued a report finding her to be in violation of the State’s Ethics Regulations, which involved abusing the power of her office in orchestrating a campaign of harassment to have her ex-brother-in-law fired from his job as an Alaskan State Trooper. – Check.
• The last one is really dumb because if her ex brother-in-law is unemployed, who the hell is going to pay her sister alimony and child support?  Guess her thirst for revenge didn’t include use of what brain cells she possesses.

After all of these developments, if I were John McCain, I’d think strongly about suspending my campaign, figure out how to bow out with whatever dignity I had left, and join Charlie Crist at DisneyWorld.
