Then the Q&A

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Now, I have just watched all of these, and I must say I don’t know what all the fuss is about. I’ve seen headlines talking about how Reverend Wright acted the fool or somehow made things worse for Obama. Politico ran with an “I’m coming for you!” headline referring to the point in his remarks where Wright explains that as a representative of an oppressive government, Obama will be held responsible.

There were a few moments where the Reverend clearly enjoyed the Q&A and the support of some audience members. But I cannot at all see how people are saying he’s some secret agent of “The Clintons” or McCain and how this hurts Senator Obama. I’ve seen some of the comments here, and folks sound furious at Wright. What did the man do? He has been made out to be the most horrible villain in America, his gospel ripped asunder and misrepresented to the fullest. I say let him defend the black church we all know is under attack from the most ignorant of people.

The timing is not ideal for Senator Obama, but that can’t always be helped. Will there ever be a good time to defend the truth? Wright held his tongue for weeks. Weeks of lies and distortion. Weeks during which I received countless emails from people asking what I thought about this man who hates America so much. The truth has been nowhere to be found, and when he does resurface and provides lengthy, substantive comments on what’s been going on, what do people do? Grab the sound bite. That’s terrifying.

I urge all of you to watch all of the proceedings if you haven’t already and develop your opinion based on your complete experience of the remarks.
