Hello. I wonder if you all have ever thought about turning Jack and Jill into a print publication. I love it but don't always have time to read it online. Maybe you might consider creating a "Best Of" end of the year publication. I love magazines and I use coffee time to read through my favorite publications. Having a publication in print helps me have a more intimate reading moment. And, if you decide to ever do a print publication, I would be willing to serve as an editor. Keep up the good work.

It is my opinion:
If the 303 millions of ordinary Americans were to put two bucks a week into a Bank Account Numbered 1600 that only President Obama could access. The President could, during this time, use the money to set up a common fund for MEDICAL COVERAGE.

Next, if ordinary Americans stand together and vote for JUSTICE, FAIRPLAY in the field of finance, they could stamp out The FEDERAL RESERVE in a few months, and with it all of the fat cats eating away the earth beneath the feet of ordinary American. AMERICA'S MONEY BELONGS IN THE HANDS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! -Americans should use their powerhouse, their VOTES, to rid America of the Federal Reserve. The BANK OF AMERICA also belongs to the AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Ordinary Americans could help the President stamp out GREED too. Americans should buy American goods, grow American food, build American industry and eat American produce.

Americans should also stand together and sue all all of those GREEDY MONEY LENDERS and BORROWERS on Wall Street, or anywhere else GREED supersedes the COMMON INTEREST. No businessman should be allowed to take more than between 5-15 percent of the his/her company's profit, No matter how much work is put in at the beginning, the guy sweeping the floor is just as important to the operation as He/She is when the business is up and running. CAPITALISM only works well when everyone ges a FAIR share.

Companies getting American Government Contracts from the American Government must be held accountable at all times!

ALSO, and this is a very important thing: The size of American schools must be reduced! High schools should NOT be small cities!
In order to learn, ALL students below the age of 18 must be taught in small classrooms in small schools.

PARENTS MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN AND THEIR CHILDREN'S BEHAVIOUR up until their child is 18 years of age, -the age when the brain is fully mature.

PARENTING SKILLS must be taught to children, teens, and young adults while they are in school. Such Parents would not be able to feign ignorance when it comes to raising a child, being responsible for their child and their child's behaviour. -The only way to grow an enlightened generation of responsible adults is to have enlightened parents, parents who know and understand what their responsibilities are to their child/children.

TEACHERS must be held accountable for their students' education!

Teachers should also be tested before they are allowed the privilege the teaching America's students!

A agree heavily with many of your points. However, when you speak of this "Capitalism" as if it is not a part of life. Its based on a FREE ECONOMY. It goes along with FREE RELIGION and FREE RIGHTS. But, the irony of them be free can be see in this simple logic: rights have a cost, religion has a cost, and economy has a cost...each of them valued in sacrifice. Our troops pay a cost for our rights, our morality is the cost of our religion, and financial education is the cost for our economy.

Amazingly enough, you brought up a key point with LENDERS and BORROWERS, but they aren't all on Wall Street. Banks lend money, borrowers buy homes, and some people don't pay their bills. This forced all the "fake money" to the borrowers, and now "the real money" is needed by the lenders.

Ultimately, you forgot to mention that we are also responsible and must be accountable to ourselves. You also mentioned that Bank of America was "the people's" when in fact you can buy private stock on Wall Street because it is a corporation in a free economy.

Perhaps the quote that struck me with a terrible odor was this:

In response, I'd say that it should read:

"Companies getting American Government Contracts from the American Government and all American Government entities getting American Tax Money must be held accountable at all times (to include ACORN)!"

The site is a nonprofit and presented the same picture you are using, but the success story isn't like anything I've seen printed about Officer Perez. I am hoping that someone can bring attention to this next little problem for me and I hope it will be you.
I think by now we all know that Sarah Palin is of Pentacostal Faith. That is why she wears her hair up in a bun. If she comes out with her hair down and it is over her ears then you can almost bet that she will have something in her ear (earpiece) and and someone is feeding her the answers and she will pause before she answers any questions given to her. Is there anything that can be done to be sure that this does not happen? The McCain camp knows that Sarah Palin cannot go up against Joe Biden so the only thing they can do is cheat and put a earpiece in her ear.
If I am wrong about this, I will be back to apologize to you and everyone Friday but I just have a feeling that I am not wrong.

While I can add little to any discussion about Palin's hair, I would like to discuss folks, especially attorneys, working at the polls.

As you know by now, we are in an election for our Country’s and our people’s very survival. Senator Barack Obama will not make it to the White House unless we all help. Sure, he has won each of his debates, but the race is far from over. As Election Day draws closer, the McCain/Palin machine has openly ramped up the vitriol and outright lies in an attempt to win this election. McCain/Palin cannot see, let alone comprehend how the health care crisis, the war, energy scarcity, a flailing economy and a diminished reputation abroad hurt us all. Why am I so passionate? My grandparents were victimized by poll taxes; I was once denied the right to vote; and four years ago, I “watched” at an inner-city precinct in Tampa, Florida. The dirty tricks started early. I witnessed local law enforcement menacingly drive past the almost exclusively African American voters and their children, while they patiently stood in line to vote before going to work. I saw the one long line grow as the harsh heat of the day settled in on senior citizens eager and proud to vote. And by mid-afternoon, the precinct was al most o ut of ballots. With some training, I understood that I could help. Simple things can make a big difference. As attorneys, we have the necessary tools to persuade people to do the right thing, without practicing law. For example, I suggested to the polling captain that she could relieve the long waits by creating two lines. I asked that the handicapped be reasonably accommodated. Moreover, we were able to “motivate” the police to actually seek out criminals, instead of watching law abiding voters and their young children. At the end of the day, I had one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. Yes, it was that good.

John McCain announced yesterday afternoon that he was suspending his campaign & all advertising. The campaign is supposedly suspended until after he parachutes into Washington DC & single handedly solves the financial crisis. This, has caused him to call for the cancellation of his presidential debate with Obama on Friday night, which will (many are thinking) necessitate him to debate Obama on October 2, which due to time constraints will conveniently cancel the vice-presidential debate between Senator Joe Biden & Sara Palin. What a strange turn of events, don't ya think???

Well, I turned on Local 6 news on the local CBS station to wait for the David Letterman show. In the last 15 minutes of the news program, they showed one of his nastiest, most dishonest ads, blaming Obama & other democrats for, what else, deregulation, the economy, of course, the financial crisis. Didn't he just say that all advertising was off until further notice???

He will, however, find time from his busy hero schedule to speak at the Clinton Global initiative today. Hmm.

Write to the newspapers, the blogs, the television stations, make a sign. How stupid do they think we are?

I think it's pretty dangerous of you to start pointing fingers at people based on race! I am a white woman in Texas, who has been dedicated to Obama from the getgo. You are perpetuating the same racism you claim to be against. It's a shame, and a disgrace. For it is not about skin color, this white girl, bleeds for the oppressed, and feels only shafted like people such as yourself so shallow to boil it back down to skin color.

Also the people who espouse " I have lived among some people who will never vote for a black man no matter his message. Take a state like Missouri, .." What bullshit! My daddy is an old-school "good ol' boy" from Texas City, TX, but this got through to him "We're drowning in America right now. All of us - black, white, brown, red and yellow. We've got a black man offering a life preserver, and a white man offering a concrete block. Which one do you want to choose?"

Thousands of people in Haiti have been effected by Hurricanes Hannah and Ike. In Gonaive, the devastation is worst. The city that has not yet recovered from hurricane Fay of two years ago, has received a devastating blow. There is difficulty getting help to affected areas because bridges have been destroyed.

There are efforts to raise money to help in Haiti's recovery; Particularly Congressman Kendrick Meek and other members of the Congressional Black Caucus are asking for $300 million in emergency assistance to the island, along with emergency bridges to help the island piece together flooded areas, but the reality is that $300 million is not remotely possible at this time. They need something that can alleviate the suffering right now.

Right now, you have a chance to help in the recovery. A group of builders in the US and in Haiti are offering to fix the bridges into such devastated towns as Gonaive, but they need your help. They are asking that the US Army lends/donate 4 "Bailey Bridge" to Haiti so we can reconnect the many villages and Cities around the country. The bridges are stockpiled all over army bases across this country. If they get them, they can do the building themselves. Their team has international experience in road building, housing and disaster and they have the equipment in Haiti to do it.

"WE ARE OF THE MIND SET THAT WE DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE AMERICANS TO DO IT FOR US; ALL WE NEED IS A LITTLE HELP."

You can help by calling different congressional members, especially from the armed services committee and referring them to Julio Bateau's circular letter to the chair of the Armed Services Committee, Senator Carl Levin of Michigan. Mr. Bateau is hoping to get a positive response from the Senator when he meets him at a fundraiser in Detroit tomorrow.

Just a correction to my comment:
Haiti declared its freedom in 1804; American slavery "ended" in 1865. That is 61 years of freedom for Haiti, not 30 as I stated.

I am curious, why don't any Black or African-American organizations take a position on the UN occupation of Haiti? Does Oprah, the NAACP or any other Black organization care that millions of people are being oppressed and fighting for their freedom in THIS hemisphere? Forced to give up their children into servitude, poor families in Haiti are accused of allowing "slavery." A propaganda narrative that serves the white supremacist agenda well.

Just curious, do "bourgeoisie" Blacks in America align with the repugnant super rich in Haiti who have sold their country out and helped in the ouster of the first democratically elected government of Jean-Bertrand Aristide? It is well to note here, that many of these sweatshop owners are of foreign extractions; Syrian, Palestinian and Jewish and their descendants. They railed mightily against the government of Aristide, someone they considered beneath them, who championed the poor.

It seems that the "white saviors" have a corner on caring for and about the embattled poor in Haiti. Have you ever been so hungry that YOU would eat dirt?

Should you care? After all, Haiti was the site of the first successful slave rebellion in the world. Haitians set the stage for freedom of all the slaves in America. Haitians took their freedom 30 years before the slaves in America were set "free".
