October 21, 2011 at 7:18 pmChipsticks I absolutely concur. Hopefruit you’re right. I saw Former Congressman and Veteran of the Iraq war Patrick Murphy on the live edition of Hardball and I’m watching the repeat because he was phenomenal. He, like PBO opposed the Iraq war but still served the country.
He vociferously thanked President Obama for the outcome of the Libya situation and for getting us out of the dumb war that was Iraq. He echoed the President’s words that the veterans will need healthcare, jobs, mental healthcare, houses, education. He thanked FLOTUS and SLOTUS in such a sweet manner for their Joining Forces work and thanked PBO for the updated GI Bill that helps veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
He lambasted Mitt Romney so beautifully for speaking out of his ass when releasing the stupid statement that said by pulling out of Iraq recklessley, PBO has made America and the troops unsafe. He lambasted the repugs in congress for their empty platitudes and sucking up to troops but voting against a jobs bill that will provide jobs for our veterans. He said President Obama is the epitome of a real leader and he is proud to have him as his President. He was absolutely wonderful. I hope he wins the race for Attorney General in PA.

Lawrence O’Donnell does a piece on the President and the Iraq War, tracing it back to then State Senator Obama’s speech about ‘ dumb wars’.
In the Rewrite, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell explains how many thousands of lives and trillions of dollars could have been saved if America had listened to then a 41-year-old Barack Obama. And in a twist of fate, ending the war would fall to that young then-ignorable state senator to end the war he opposed.
