I wonder if this news from Newark made Heather Mac Donald smile or cry? I haven't followed the developments in Newark very closely, but it seems to me that the city officials there really didn't follow many of the policy prescriptions of the Manhattan Institute, even though it looks as if they still have their hand in.

Kentucky Attorney General: Health Care Lawsuits Are Baseless Tea Party Meanderings

The attorney general of Kentucky is dismissing calls from leading Republican officials to sue the federal government to block the recently passed health care legislation.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Jack Conway, a Democratic candidate for Senate and current Kentucky AG, described talk of health care lawsuits as the baseless meandering of Tea Party conspiracy theorists; not to mention a potentially large waste of taxpayer money.

“Most constitutional scholars looking at this issue say it is absolutely clear that these lawsuits will not be successful,” Conway said. “While it may make for good Tea Party politics for [Republican Senatorial candidate] Rand Paul and Sarah Palin, it makes for really lousy lawsuits. And I'm not going to waste the taxpayer resources of the people of Kentucky on political stunts.”

“The last thing I need is a lecture on the constitutional law from Rand Raul or Sarah Palin,” he added.

Joslyn James, the busty porn star who says she was twice impregnated by Tiger Woods, spoke out Monday afternoon following the golfer's first live press conference since his massive sex scandal was paraded before the public.

The adult actress and attorney Gloria Allred, who has also represented a host of other prominent women, criticized Woods for not apologizing to his former lovers. “He said that he's being more respectful to the fans, and that's good; but how about being more respectful top the women that he's hurt,” Allred said.

The comments from both James and Allred were similar to remarks the pair made following Woods' public apology in February. In one new development, however, James expressed through her attorney a desire to speak with Elin Nordegren (PHOTOS), Woods' wife. Allred said that “any time Elin wants to contact Joslyn, she can do so through my office. Joslyn would like to talk with her, and I think they should do so to set the record straight.”

James previously posted online a batch of extremely graphic text messages — that even touch upon choking and golden showers — that she claims Woods sent her during their time together. She plans to strip in nearby Atlanta this weekend while Woods is playing at the Masters in Augusta, Ga.

BREAKING: US Military Slaughtered Innocents, Covered It Up

Today, the intrepid folks at Wikileaks released shocking footage of US soldiers murdering 12 innocent, unarmed Iraqis, including two employees of Reuters. Two children were also brutally maimed by the attack. While the incident occurred in the summer of 2007, the military covered up the incident and stymied Freedom of Information requests until the video was recently leaked by whistleblowers.

Predictably, the corporate media has so far refused to report on the incident today.

WikiLeaks has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad — including two Reuters news staff. Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the time of the attack. The video, shot from an Apache helicopter gun-site, clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters employee and his rescuers. My diary is not the first to mention the Wikileaks report, and I am dismayed by the fact that the excellent work of Kossacks RenderQT and barrettbrown has not received the attention it so critically deserves.

The particularly disturbing attack on the rescuers that came to the aid of the wounded is but one of the many disturbing images found within the long video:

Despite the importance of this story, it has been predictably ignored by the mainstream media, who continue to hide the truth from the American people. And if for some reason you didn't think that Wikileaks was important before they broke this incident, you sure as hell had better think so now.

The Apache crew fired because militants “were endangering the stability of Iraq” and because they had positive identification that the militants “had weapons and were using them against coalition and Iraqi security forces,” said Maj. Brent Cummings, the battalion's executive officer. “No innocent civilians were killed on our part deliberately. We took great pains to prevent that. I know that two children were hurt, and we did everything we could to help them. I don't know how the children were hurt.”

I thought she had some ' dignity'.

I was wondering if anybody would comment on this particular Rachel Maddow show. A) I like me some Rachel. She and Keith + JJP = the bulk of Tyren's “news.” That said, after letting Cory speak, instead of accentuating Bookers good work, she wanted to nut up on corrupt mayors. Then a story on Somali pirates getting broke off by the US Navy. No mention of Europe with US backing robbing Somali waters, fishing etc. Then a story on the Haitian Revolution saying the US and Haiti are like brothers in arms. Again no mention of the US and Haiti starving Haiti so that their revolutionary ideas didn't spread. I don't know if it's her or GE/NBC telling half assed stories. It just looked like 3 slaps at Black people world wide – with a smile on her face. Ugh, what sayeth JJP?
