I'd like to second JeffL's comment. It's important not to repeat the canard that ACORN did something wrong in the first place. I've not closely examined the videos myself, but media matters has, and they say the tapes don't show what everyone claimed they show.

They fired some people and are "putting together new procedures" but it doesn't sound to me like ACORN was having any special problems other than run of the mill NGO organization issues. The famous pimp video was edited and contrived. ACORN has been investigated many times and cleared.

The verbage I've seen from ACORN (and I don't know much about them) indicates that they see ways to tighten up the organization. But I don't get a sense that this is anything more than the recognition that they are one of the main targets of a lunatic right and need to be very watchful.

Sounds like a worthy organization to donate to. I knew they were busy but over 700,000 registered voted in 2008! That is fantastic.

Good girl Mary better wish that all three of these fools don't walk. Including the one that's the son of some DA. The Times-Picayune could dance a party on this caper. It would mean a judge that takes his cue from the shade of Maximum John to pry the story out of them.

Could be anything from the health care debate or the fact that her brother Mitch is considering a run for mayor of New Orleans. Their father was the last white mayor of New Orleans, and during his tenure, opened the city doors for blacks and other minorities.

I was laughing this morning seeing these idiots getting shoved into a cop car; I guess they thought they were bulletproof. Throw the book at them.

I want to know why they were there in the first place. The report says that they wanted to catch Landrieu badmouthing her constituents but I don't think that's plausible.

Landrieu isn't up for reelection until 2014 so unless they were hoping for something truly scandalous that explanation doesn't make sense.

Fox, Dredge, O'Keefe, and others are safe if one is to believe the following:

Fox is the most trusted television news network in the country, according to a new poll out Tuesday.

A Public Policy Polling nationwide survey of 1,151 registered voters Jan. 18-19 found that 49 percent of Americans trusted Fox News, 10 percentage points more than any other network.

Thirty-seven percent said they didn’t trust Fox, also the lowest level of distrust that any of the networks recorded.
