First Lady Michelle Obama Asks for Your Help

Here’s her public service announcement asking you to text “Haiti” to 90999 to donate $10 to the American Red Cross to help deliver food, medicine, shelter and water. Haiti is going to need help for a long time so please give what you can. I texted once and plan to do so again right now.

I just saw a bite on MSNBC of the grandboys carrying Big Momma to the helicopter. Very touching!!! Not only was Big Momma injured, if she was anything like my grandmother, she was saying “Lord, I don't know about riding in no helicopter!!!

My mom wants to donate to the Red Cross for my grandfather. However, my dad mentioned that the site is unsafe. His Macafee said the site is unsafe? I donated on my own computer and had no problem. Did anyone else get that notice?

Love Mrs. Obama, but I'm doing Doctors without Borders, also known as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and yele, Wyclef Jean's organization. The American Red Cross has too bad a reputation for me from back in the day AND Katrina.

That was under different management so I'm not too sure the same problems percist. It seems people were under the assumption that money they gave was just for that particular catastrophe and didn't understand that they do raise money in general to go to several places. There are lots people that work for the Red Cross on the ground now in Haiti , they're committed to helping. So while I didn't like the way things were handled before I didn't let that stop me from giving to that organization.

Cool, you do you. There are more than enough ways to help. I have chosen mine. I am more than convinced that Wyclef will do the right thing by Haiti, his country of birth.

I live on the Gulf Coast in TX. When the Red Cross gave me a CC with $300 (after hurricane Rita) on it to help they did not say there was a time limit to use it. The card was no longer good when I was told about the fine print on the card. So I contacted them about it and was told, “Too bad.” Greatest Scammers Ever. The bank was Chase of course. I bet this gets deleted.

The Red Cross gives out Debit cards even when there is no electricity available to use the card. I got one and when I tried to use it I found it had expired. One of the biggest scams that I have ever been had put on me.
