But you say “kill the bill”, and then what?

Please….Obama caved into the outrage white folks and the police department of Cambridge had over that and decided to have a beer and act all buddy/buddy with a cop that did act “stupidly” on the job. I don't know many black people that would get treated so nicely by the president if they acted “stupidly” on the job. Also imagine the message this back peddling by Obama sent to other cops around the country that abuse ordinary blacks on the daily. And I think Obama defending gates was more a class/buppie black thing more than speaking out against racial profiling.

Believe me If Obama stands up for black people on an issue(which he will never intentionally do, he was silent on Sean Bell, Jena 6 and other things) , white folks will stand down in support of him – it's that simple. This is what I meant when I said that Obama's political viability is based on supporting white racism and white supremacy.

The bad does outweigh the good in the plan, and as a result the bill is not worth passing. Everything that was really good in the bill was taken out. The bill has been compromised over and over again and it hasn't been a give-take negotiation – it's just been take!

At first Obama and the Dems supported a robust public option for everyone, but then they reduced it to being eligible to just 10 percent of people under Obama's revised plan. To further compromise with the depraved elements of the senate, they gutted the Public option all together, and replaced it with the medicare buy in. As if gutting the Public Option all together wasn't enough, they then take the medicare buy out of the bill leaving only private insurers to get health coverage from with a few bs tweeks here and there. There's no choice. There's no real cost control over rising premiums. And there is a mandate to buy this type of service. Getting rid of preexisting conditions (even though the insurers can charge more for sickly and older people) , and giving some subsidies to poor people to buy this crappy product, doesn't offset all the other bad this bill does. for America.

Instead, most people who oppose the bill, especially kill-billers like Jane Hamsher, only talk about the bad stuff in the bill and ignore the good stuff as if it doesn't exist. This is disingenuous at best, and at worst, downright manipulative.

Everyone who is passionate about HCR needs to really look deep down into themselves and question exactly what they want to accomplish. Do they really want to help people or do they just want to stick it to the insurance industry.

A lot of white people would disagree with that especially when Obama opened his mouth about Prof Gates.
