He had no compassion or empathy for his wife or his children as she was their mother. What goes around comes around. He publically humiliated her after destroying the marriage and attempting to throw her out of the home.

BTW, he was also a very nasty, ingrate SOB to his mother , as well, who lived in low income housing despite Gumbel's riches.

gumble deserves all the blessings God has given him to endure.

Maybe Not

As you know, the AP and NYT reported tonight that the new deal dumped the Public Option. Our Brian Beutler, up there on the Hill was not so sure. And Sen. Reid said definitively this was not true. And now the Times seems to be backing off their report. And we're getting hints that those reports may have been premature.

The Virginia couple who slipped through White House security and shook hands with President Obama will invoke the Fifth Amendment, which protects against self-incrimination, if subpoenaed to testify to Congress, according to a letter from the couple's lawyer.

The House Homeland Security Committee is scheduled to vote Wednesday on whether to subpoena Tareq and Michaele Salahi to answer questions about how they gained entry to the White House on November 24 despite not being on the guest list to attend a state dinner for the prime minister of India.

A lawyer for the Salahis sent a letter to the committee Tuesday saying the Salahis will not testify because of a pending federal investigation by the U.S. attorney in Washington, and because of statements made by some members of Congress about the Salahis last week.

"The Salahis must contend not only with vilification by the press, but also with a treacherous legal environment that threatens criminal exposure," the letter from lawyer Stephen Best said.

I have no idea of how badly Gumbel may have treated his first wife but I did read a comment once in which he said that he was terribly unhappy in his first marriage. Gumbel also said that his marriage to June reminded him of own parents marriage. He pointedly said that his father was quite unhappy being married to his mother but felt trapped because of he and his brother. He didn't want to relive his father's script. Maybe he did treat his wife badly but if he didn't love her anymore or he felt that she didn't really love him then he had little choice but to split.

I'm watching “The Birdcage”. I love this movie. I've seen the orginal French version (Las Cage Aux Folles(sp?) too. If it wasn't for subtitles, I would like the French version as much as the American remake.

For most of its 122-year history, the government trust fund program that pays American Indians royalties for use of their land has been a tragic mess, plagued by bureaucratic mismanagement and accusations of flat-out theft.

Tribal members have long contended that they are owed billions of dollars in unpaid dues for farming, grazing, timber-cutting and other government leases on their land dating back to the 1887 federal act that broke up reservations and gave Indians individual parcels.

PAY CZAR CAVES ON AIG PAY, LIFTS $500K SALARY LIMIT

Can someone plz explain the point of the czar if he's going to cave after a handful of execs threatened to leave AIG? Wouldn't it be better not to have one if he's so easily punked er... swayed by the exortations of few execs?
