This is the core issue. All that other drivel zizi is spewing is no different from the trumped up mess she attributes to the 'villagers'. Rogers at the direction of the FirstLady phucked up. They flaunted decades of tradition and protocol. Despite them wanting to rest on the laurels of their traditionally prestigious degrees. It was sheer arrogance that made Rogers and Robinson, darn near triple the number of guests that attend state dinners. A list so large the dinner could not be held in the STATE Dining Room in the WH. I guess they thought State room was about a Governor, and not head of state. It was their thumbing of their noses at the whys and wherefores, that created this entire problem. It was their ivy league degrees that made them believe they could ignore the strict protocol for state dinners. Worst of all there was an entire staff and group of advisers with impeccable ability to carry off a StateDinner at their disposable. But you see these two, Robinson and Rogers attempted to turn into some BLOCK party, like they were the new rich folks gonna invite all the commoners and show everyone how it is done. Instead they went so far aflung bad that security was breached. But RobinsonandRogers didn't care about how they were making the job difficult for security. They felt that was SS problems, not theirs. IOW's they didn't give a damn about protecting the President..afterall, he is just a spouse and friend to them. And nothing trumps that relationship, not even his being POTUS.

If Michelle and Desiree wanted to throw a party then they should have done so on the President's dime. Not the taxpayers. We the people pay for StateDinners. The Obama's pay for official dinners, and that is when they get to add all the flourish and ostentaciousness they choose. On their dime. The nation does not watch official dinners, the US Embassy and military are not involved.

Instead, Michelle and Desiree took a formal event with set diplomatic protocol and tried to turn it into some adult gala. Desiree hinted at making the state dinner a circus back in Feb when she suggested holding a sweepstakes for invites to the StateDinner. gmafb For all her executive know how, I am certain she would not have dared breach protocol or suggest such ignorance at a corporate board meeting where they were to host a visting titan of business. Nope. Michelle too would never have dared to mismanage a social event for SidleyAustin when she worked in that law firm. Michelle in her eagerness to be inclusive, completely dismisses the very activities that gave access to the common man. Such as hosting a TV special with the florist and chef along with heads of the departments involved in hosting a StateDinner, like the Chief Diplomat to India along with the Secretary of State. Like giving camera access during the reception and dinner. Noooo, Michelle just ignored that and had her mentees there, and closed camera access. A very nice gesture, but Michelle wound up excluding more people than in the past. She left out Americans all over the nation eager to see and participate vicariously through television because she chose not to recognize the StateDinner for all it's historical and cultural significance.

RogersandRobinson will go down in history for degrading and demeaning the significance of StateDinners. The very idea that it was not hosted inside the WH is the biggest insult to the visiting dignitary and that host country willnot forget the snub.

Americans who hold this nation and many of its traditions in esteem will not forget either how MichelleObama set such a low benchmark for future StateDinners for this administration, she has nowhere to go but up. Hopefully, her and Desiree will know this and next time show that they are competent enough to do it right.

All they have to do is follow protocol.

Surely, those ivy league degrees mean they have the reading comprehension skills to do so.

Now, if only they have the graciousness and class to do so.
