I hope the FCC does fry Bravo after hearing about this newest item. This makes two events involving Obama where this couple were not invited they bully their way in and Bravo is there to film it all. What are they Bravo) waiting for? and how many more incidents will be reported?

WTTG-TV, the Fox affiliate in Washington, reported late Monday that the Salahis also crashed a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Awards dinner on Sept. 26 at which Obama spoke. The station's Web site quoted a foundation representative, Lance Jones, as saying the Salahis were escorted out by security guards after they were caught sitting at a table.

The station said that when the Salahis showed up at the dinner, they were followed by TV cameras from Bravo, which airs the "Real Housewives" reality programs, but were turned away at the door. WTTG reported that the Salahis later sneaked in through a busboy-catering entrance, and the station's Web site posted photos purported to be from the Black Caucus event.

I understand and share your feelings but I don't think the way out of this problem is to demand that the Salahis be prosecuted. The police agencies of the government will still harass Jamal from Harlem whether he is a Harvard professor or a transit worker.

I agree with the possible solutions you cite, e.g,., review of policies/procedures as it relates to White House affairs and more funding for the Secret Service.

In response to your assertion that it doesn't meet your criteria for a security breach; please consider one thing. The flatware on those beautifully decorated tables could really do some damage if one was so inclined to harm the President. I'm thankful that the Salahis were just folks who thought this would be fun and may get a reality show or some
interviews on major networks as a result of this adventure. It was always my understanding that you prepare for the worse or what could go wrong when devising security for VIPs or lets say the POTUS. Take care!

I don't have any objective basis to assert that the appearance of the Salahis at a party to which they had not been invited represented a security breach. It is my understanding that although they had not been invited they were still required to pass through metal detectors and other screening devices that the invited were subjected to.

The nearly exponential rise in the number of death threats made against President Obama and the cuts in Secret Service funding have nothing to do with the Salahis. If this incident causes the White House to seek an emergency appropriation for the Secret Service and to review and change its policies and procedures for who is admitted to the White House that's okay. But the impulse to want to prosecute the Salahis should be put on the shelf.

If the gendarmes went after every American who breaks a federal law, hundreds of thousands of people would be arrested every single day. (I'm not exaggerating here.) I fail to see any public benefit gained from arresting these two grifters for attending a party that they were not invited to. There are enough people in jail now for minor and imagined crimes. We should avoid feeding that monster.

PTCruiser: Do I share your sentiments about our system being a joke and disproportionately affecting Blacks and Browns, these two MoFos broke a federal law.
