I have found that running is eased when you find music that eases your step/cadence.

I feel blessed that I found today David Brubecks...Take Five...what a relief.

Ran 15 miles today,

How do you run to 5/4 time?

hey, thought about you today as I was running again....all I can say is if you listen to Take 5 and the even tempo that goes on in the very background, that is the cadence I tune into...I can zero into that background tempo, maybe its the drums....? and I just float to that beat.

Anyway......it works for me.

Great I love the tune.

Take 5 is awesome. I still have it on reel to reel tape.

how can you miss?

I just do it, usually listen to it towards the end when I getting slower and more tired.

This may be the worst when the checks stop coming in ever. Your boy Nic Cage is reportedly broke although he has done over 50 movies over two decades and currently makes an estimated $20 million minimum per film. Cage has sold several mansions across the country in an effort to quickly raise cash but the IRS still says he owes $6 million! A few of the homes have been foreclosed on due to unpaid mortgage payments
. Cage says his “Business manager” is to blame and is suing him. SMH. Poor thang

My wife and I are uninsured. She is uninsurable because of pre-existing conditions. I cannot afford the $1,500 per month it would cost to insure me. We exemplify this country's problem. On Labor Day, we were in an automobile accident on Interstate 10. Our vehicle was totaled. We were, by the grace of God, unhurt. Had we been injured, we would likely have lost our house and all that we have. Had we been badly injured, we might be dead.

The health care bills before the House and Senate will solve each of our problems. They will make us both insurable; they will forbid exclusion of my wife's pre-existing conditions; they will make the premiums affordable for me. Now, tell me.... how is not enacting the proposed health care reform, with or without a robust public option, good for us or or for the country?

If liberalism means telling people like me and my wife, "Sorry, you'll have to stay uninsured because my liberal principles say a limited public option isn't good enough," then f@#k liberalism. Politics is the art of the possible, and for the liberal, it needs to be doing what's possible for the most good for the most people.

People are hurting. People like me, my wife, and 50 million other Americans. If instead of offering them a cup of cold water we engage in intellectual masturbation and political games, we can't be proud of ourselves.

To paraphrase Paul Wellstone, politics isn't about being a lefty or a righty, it's about helping people.

The bills that can be enacted, do all of the following:
• A change in the healthcare delivery system by emphasizing primary care physicians instead of specialists, preventive care as well as treatment, and compensation for results rather than number of procedures.
• Coverage of everyone, so that we don't have to rely on the "Bush system" of emergency room as healthcare.
• No more denial of coverage because of pre-existing conditions.
• No more cancelling policies because you get sick.
• A potential financial fix for Medicare so that it doesn't any longer threaten to bankrupt our country.

So if liberal purity stands in the way of dooing all that, and allowing me and my wife to get insurance and healthcare, then liberals better get prepared for the same kind of thrashing we got in 1994. And we'll deserve it, because we're supposed to be the ones who care, the ones who don't say "die quickly," or "find an emergency room," because our political philosophy doesn't allow us to help you.

Within the cat herd that is the Democratic Party, there are always differences of opinion. That is the natural result of a liberal ideology—the presence of any number of different perspectives or solutions to a problem or an issue. Where conservatives, whether they chose to identify with the currently unpopular Republican brand or not, choose to march in lockstep off a cliff for the appearance of being “principled”, liberals, Democrats and non-Democrats, will not only refuse to walk off that cliff, they’ll protest the idea that they’re asked to do it in lockstep, and tell whoever suggested the idea what they can do with the cliff.

That is the reason why I’ve always been and continue to be damned proud to be a liberal, and a member of the Democratic party. Being, by nature, inquisitive and or suspicious of authority, any authority, I consider a heroic quality.

However, as it is in any number of great pieces of literature, sometimes heroic qualities can have tragic results. Ironically enough, an anti-establishment viewpoint, can lead us off the same “principled” cliff mentioned above, without anyone telling us to do so.

About that "cheerleading" Mr. Greenwald...

Just read the NYT article on Barack and Michelle. It just confirmed to me that tain't nobody's business what they do in their marriage. That it still works and they and the kids are happy is enough. I wish the NYT wouldn't go down to the level of People or worse, TMZ.com.

They ain't the Clintons. Or the Bushes. Or even the Kennedys. They're just themselves.

This part of them I like a lot.
