Now, I'm going to be a stinker here, but if they can have a panelist who can opine on the “biracial perspective,” surely they can have someone on the panel –possibly a student — who can give the black gay man's experience in the age of Obama.

I note that these guys are older. Would be nice if they could get a tween or early teen to discuss what this means to them and their demo.

Anyway, CNN is horrible at covering anything “blacK'. That “Black in America ” series was godawful – it only perpetuated negative stereotypes about blacks while allowing religous and academic hustlers like TD Jacks and Michael Eric Dyson to spew nonsense and unoriginal thoughts for a couple hours.

Corporate media like CNN and shallow sellout magazines like Essence would never allow thinkers like Houston Baker, Na'im Akbar, Randall Robinson or Marimba Ani to speak. It'll probably be the same shallow feel good nonsense that's always associated with Obama and anything black.

I see CNN has that crook Eddie long in the lineup – typical.

DJ Drama is a panelist. Are you f*&(king kidding? To give the “bi racial” experience. LOL Anyway another CNN dog and pony show. No thank you. I voted for Barack but all these shows act as if he can or has changed the tide. As a black man, I respect Barak's accomplishments but he doesn't change the way I live my life. A that's the problem too many us are looking for some God-like figure to lead us out of our own situations. I graduated from college and got a good job without “inspiration” from Barak. Barak isn't going to come to your living room and tell you “to take care of kids.” If you need someone to do that you are beyond needing help. I said this yesterday the black men like me that are receptive to Barak's message most likely don't need Barak's help. The black men that live by a “street code” are not going to be receptive to Barak's message because their “value” system is a lot different. If you don't value being educated it doesn't matter what Baraks says. If you think going to prison is a badge of honor what Barak says is irrelevant. If you think having “hoes in different codes” is enviable the Obama family is not an attractive model that you would strive to have. And unfortunately we have a sizable young black subculture that values the very things that will make them unsuccessful in life.
There is a video floating around with the rapper Webbie and he is standing outside of a hotel and some guy tells him to pull his pants up. Webbie's response is and I'm paraphrasing. “Don't you know Obama is in office how am I suppose to pull my pants up with 40000 Grand in my pocket” First off, I don't know how one has to do with another but if you have that type of ignorant mentality you are going to continue to have it no matter who is in the White House. A person can't be “inspired” out of that type of asinine thinking. They must change themselves.

“Black Men in the Age of Obama” WTF? Oh I get it, Obama is supposed to be the role model for ALL black men in the world. Ahh the irony, didn't Morehouse let a student who shot and nearly killed another student graduate last year?

I would pay money to see a Rockette style chorus line of big hairy black men in pumps, greeting the members of the audience as they arrive.

It would be nice if the “age of Obama” would influence black men, but it won't.

So did anyone go to the taping? We want some feedback here.

I love me my black men but while some may be inspired by the ascent of Barack, I fear the anger his rise has caused in America might actually affect a backlash against African Americans.

My brothers you be strong, be smart, be ambitious, dress right, speak up, speak out, respect yourselves, your mother and your women and never, ever sell out.
