The opposite is the problem. A broadly based, simply administered, and NOT FOR PROFIT public option would be cheaper than the vast majority of private plans. Why else does it give the CIGNAs, Aetnas, Anthems, et al. such vapors?

I assume that the reason he did that was so that the entire banking system wouldn't fail all at once. I'm thinking of that as a necessary evil. I think he had to do what he did but I admit that I don't have all the information. Perhaps you have more of an expertise in this area.

That's an interesting perspective given that Obama voted for the 700 billion dollar bailout to Wall Street when this country had exploding deficits. He distributed 100 billion dollars to Wall Street under his own administration. Bailing Wall Street out of their self created mess did not have much effect on Obama's conscious when it came to the cost to the taxpayer – even when the majority of Americans were AGAINST the bailouts. In contrast, 65 percent of people support a public option and Americans are dying everyday because of lack of health coverage (or no coverage at all!) and NOW Obama chooses to become a fiscal conservative, lol.

If that’s the case “wimp” would not be the appropriate term, “corrupt” “bought and paid for” would be more appropriate terms.
