It is very easy to become concerned about how far the federal government will go into the economy. Tax revenue will have to be raised to pay for this. We have Massachusetts as living proof even though Mass residents do not want to get rid of it. Raising Tax revenue in the wrong manner will piss people off and we have a long history in the this country of voting against your own self interest.

Two, we have not seen the legislation for the public option. Does it correspoond to what each indidvidual state currently mandates as a minimim for healthcare? In that case you would get s@#$ insurance in say Mississippi and great insurance in California assuming no one changes the law between now and 2013 when the orginal bill says it is to go into effect. Does it set a nationwide standard in between?

Three, the law on unintended consequences, which on this issue is fine by me. If the national coverage is cheaper will business owners keep offering insurance? I wouldn't because a national pool in terms of insurance should give people better coverage and a cheaper price. Is the system capable of ramping up fast enough to write people into the system(if you are looking for business ideas you might start looking into setting up a call center to handle the government contracts to write people in. PS you'll need some folks w/ health insurance licenses and background). What will be the unions, white collar exec response to the plan? They will be pissed because they can no longer feed at the public trough.

Four, does the Federal government recognize that they have to raise revenue as employers drop coverage to handle the increased numbers? It will be a boon to employers as more of the bottom line goes home and productivity goes up because no worker is worried sick about their family.

Five, this is an aside question on productivity. How many of you have sent your sick co worker home in the last two months, even if it's the lazy hankerchief wearing slacker who always is looking to get out of work and responsiblity, so you don't catch the flu? had your kid kickd out of school because of the flu?

Six, Republican Gov's like Perry and Jindal have kicked up storms to say we won't take Federal money from the stimulus yet end up cheesing like the Chester Cheetah, with the same orange grin, as the Fed's hand them a check. Do you really think they won't now if they can receive a call center in say Amarillo? that is to argue they won't reject it another good thing.

seven, if Rep Gov's are really dumb as we they proven themsleves to be are their consitutents amenable to outsiders(which is what the Republicans will claim, you know those pointy head bureaucrats from DC) arguing for their interest?

“It will become very personal, as people realize that Governor Smith or State Senator Jones directly denied their children what other Americans have won.”

Clearly this guy never heard of Schip.

As to an organizers dream it truly would be but I'm not so sanguine that it will fall to the Democrats, better yet prohealthcare reform organizations, to be winable.

One, despite Fox news introduction into the Tea Party movement, you can't assume that all of these people are yahoo's.
