Keith Bardwell, justice of the peace in Tangipahoa Parish, says it is his experience that most interracial marriages do not last long.

Neither Bardwell nor the couple immediately returned phone calls from The Associated Press. But Bardwell told the Daily Star of Hammond that he was not a racist.

"I do ceremonies for black couples right here in my house," Bardwell said. "My main concern is for the children."

Bardwell said he has discussed the topic with blacks and whites, along with witnessing some interracial marriages. He came to the conclusion that most of black society does not readily accept offspring of such relationships, and neither does white society, he said.

NEW JOBS are slowly emerging from the stimulus money. The real time records the administration is insisting on should begin to show more as contracts are signed for infrastructure projects. Isn't it ironic that the first records show the jobs in the South where the governors whined they wouldn't take it.

The political issue is, if the stimulus is designed to ramp up work going into the 2010 elections, will the new jobs translate into work for the less skilled, especially minorities whom made a huge emotional and rational decision to effect change. It will be even more interesting to see if the upper middle class nomenklature can find work. While I am extremely tired of their whining and lack of historical perspective their lack of cash contributions to the Democrats are critical for getting the message out. President Obama was a master of gathering cash in the last election.

Govs complain their reps in Congress re-directed money before it arrives at the state. So, money was directed to Govs but they had to keep commitment to stimulus' purpose. Several responses and posts made this morning are in disqus but not on JJP, this been a problem for me over two months. But its worse this morning.

It's all screwy; I noticed this the other day but yesterday is when I noticed responses missing - mine and those who 'answered' or responded. The gravatars were screwed up last night - seem fine now.

Falcon Heene, the balloon boy, was on the morning shows with his parents and brothers and he actually throws up on two of the shows and the parents barely react. On one tape they have a spit tray right there for him so they were expecting him to be ill. What the hell?

This episode is going to cut back on my attention span as far as MSM news. I haven't watched the morning shows all week and it may be on a permanent basis. I don't feel like eating breakfast while watching little kids puking during a faux-interview. The stories I've seen in the past few weeks do not even warrent coverage and this "breaking news" sealed it.

The first thought I had when this was going on was what will happen these days if a similar 9/11 event were to occur, given the spread of this "breaking news" and social networking? I'm willing to bet the networks and "tweets" would hit critical mass, only to find out it was a studio glitch playing Independence Day or something...O_o

Didn't they do that when they reported a major security incident in DC when it was only the Coast Guard doing training exercises?

There should have been a senior caseworker assigned to their file @ child protective services yesterday after it was reported that one kid was suspected to be up in a weather balloon and the other two were, at some point, on the roof of the house with a video camera.
