As many of Musicals lovers I LOVE the Phantom of the Opera! It is my favourite ever... Last year I’ve been in NY & I tried to get my ticket …guess what everything was sold out that show how great the show is. Anyhow I end up getting it from a site through Casatickets.com. Next week I’m going to visit my sister and I just got some pretty good tix from the same place http://www.casatickets.com/phantom-of-the-opera... So I'll be analyzing as well as enjoying the show.

Andrew Lloyd Webber Has Cancer
Posted Sunday 25 October 09:50 AM
Musical master Andrew Lloyd Webber has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, but luckily it was caught "in its very early stages," a spokesman disclosed in a statement.
"Andrew is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year," it said.
Lloyd Webber, 61, is currently working on a sequel for 'Phantom of the Opera' called 'Lover Never Dies.' It is expected to make its Broadway debut next November. He is also set to judge a BBC talent show next year.
The famed composer's other musicals include 'Evita,' 'Cats,' 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and 'Starlight Express.'
..........................................
Phantom is my favorite musical. I listened to it 2x/day everyday for 6 months when I first got it. I saw it in NYC, Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago and D.C.
I wish Lord Webber a strong recovery.

OMG...thought I saw everything...now NeNe is calling out Lohan's dad...which frankly I think is ok, but......what in the world, I was just cracking up!
You probably right about that cause NeNe steals the show whereEVER she goes! I just wish she would leave Kandi alone...I like Kandi...she is real nice. Did anyone else see last week, where they said Kandi and AJ had broke off the engagement right before he was killed.
What do you think caused the break up? Do you think she knew he was banging that GM of the strip club he was outside of when the owner bashed his head in having caught AJ and his spouse ..getting it on?!
I just could never understand how Kandi was with that AJ...what goes on in a woman's mind for her to hook up with a man with FIVE baby mommas? That is sheer luancy...heck one baby momma cause enough drama..and she was going to be dealing with FIVE of 'em. I was praying she would listen to her mom...and I bet her mom prayed for God to intervene....and save her child...and the lord did!

How much does the colour of our skin make us who we are, and shape the way the world sees us?
… Griffin was the white man who fooled hundreds of Americans into believing he was a black man as he travelled through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia - and who felt at first hand the bigotry that meant.
…
When he toured the South lecturing to white audiences about his experiences as a black man, he was threatened, intimidated and, on at least one occasion, seriously beaten.

Yeah, they made a movie based on his experiences called "Black Like Me".

As a Native American who had very little interaction with other people of color until my mid teens, that book had a profound impact on me. It was one of the first books I read that I could identify with as a person of color. Believe me, when I was growing up there were not any personal stories from my heritage that were made available to me and this one stuck.

Madoff Associate Found Dead in Pool
PALM BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 25) – Jeffry Picower, a philanthropist accused of profiting more than $7 billion from the investment schemes of his longtime friend Bernard Madoff, was found at the bottom of the pool at his oceanside mansion and died Sunday, police said. He was 67. Picower's wife discovered his body and pulled him from the water with help from a housekeeper, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Medical Center at about 1:30 p.m.
I just read The Beach House by James Patterson, and after all of the revelations about the shenanigans at Madoff Securities, this is setting up the perfect novel.

between the Madoff scandal and the people who are committing suicide for their off shore accounts...makes you wonder...It seems some knew they were doing wrong and now when the truth comes out, they can't live with it.

Ths is so infuriating: "Congress is covered now by the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, the same plan that covers eight million other federal workers, retirees and their families.
There had been talk earlier in the health care debate of extending the plan — or something like it — to all. In fact, Barack Obama campaigned for president on that approach.
But doing so could push the total cost of an overhaul beyond the limit of $900 billion over 10 years that President Obama has set. MOREOVER, IT WOULD ADD PEOPLE WITH THIGHER HEALTH RISKS TO THE POOL, WHICH WOULD PROBABLY INCREASE PREMIUMS FOR THOSE ALREADY IN THE PLAN." (my caps)
Why is it so hard to understand that the otherside is we pay for these higher irsk peoples healthcare through them receiving their care in the most expensive way possible the emergency room? Why is it so hard to understand that we are going to have higher costs period unless we just kill off the sick? why is it so hard to understand that the cost of the riskier will come down over time as many can be treated earlier because of check ups through less costly procedures than surgery in many cases through drugs? why is it so hard to understand that the profits of the health insures have no business in the equation of healthcare? Why is it so hard to understand that the only real losers will be corporate boards and management of healthcare inusrance companies?
If you understand please tell me why Congress keeps thinking they can get away w/ this.

The big profits made by some of Wall Street's leading banks are "hidden gifts" from the state, and taxpayer resentment of such companies is "justified", George Soros, the fund manager, said in an interview with the Financial Times.
"Those earnings are not the achievement of risk-takers," Mr Soros said. "These are gifts, hidden gifts, from the government, so I don't think that those monies should be used to pay bonuses. There's a resentment which I think is justified."
Mr Soros, who joins a transatlantic chorus calling for limits on risk, leverage and compensation at big banks, said proprietary traders belong at hedge funds, not at banks, and that the compensation at Wall Street companies should be limited to prevent excessive risk.
"With the too-big-to-fail concept comes a need to regulate the payments that employees receive," said Mr Soros, who will elaborate on his views in lectures in Budapest next week.
Some bankers have argued that limits on pay would make it difficult for them to retain their most talented risk-takers. Mr Soros agreed and said this would be a good thing.
"That would push the risk-takers who are good at taking risks out of Goldman Sachs into hedge funds, where they actually belong, because hedge funds take risks with their own capital, not with deposits and not with government guarantees," he said.

Soros gets it.

Why controlling bonuses will not reduce risk. "In an interview last week with The New York Times, Mr. Volcker said the nation’s commercial banks should not be allowed to hold and trade risky securities, a practice that generated deep losses for many of them in the credit crunch. The governor of the Bank of England made the same point last week. Separating these operations was the response the United States government took after the Crash of 1929, but today, the administration says it has no plan to break up the banks again in the manner Mr. Volcker suggests."

Probably, nothing short of shutting down the casino will work.
Edit:
It was hard following author who starts with American public concerns about robbery on Wall Street, he then go into up coming consumer protection bill, start talking about why robber barons need derivatives, then back to American concerns. Nothing in there is straight talk about reduction of risks.
