A black bourgeoisie perspective on U.S. politics
Hey yall,
WASHINGTON WATCH WITH ROLAND MARTIN debuts this Sunday, September 27 at 11 AM and will focus on issues of importance to African Americans through discussions with officials from the White House and Congress, other policymakers who represent communities with significant black populations (including those “outside the Beltway”), journalists and commentators, and policy experts. With heightened interest among African Americans in Washington policy decisions since the election of Barack Obama, this series is very timely in bringing a unique perspective to the table from policymakers that might not have been heard on other Sunday morning shows. By giving voice to the African American political community, WASHINGTON WATCH also addresses the needs of an audience that had previously been underserved.<snip>And, Richard Prince, of The Maynard Institute, recently wrote that “African Americans’ lack of confidence in the news media has risen more than that of whites since the election of President Obama, according to a survey” (from Pew Research).
