Obama as president, like past communist leaders can lie and manipulate many naive citizens to believe what he says but the TRUE AMERICAN who knows and loves their liberty and their freedom to speak out will not be fooled by his fake smiles and his rhetorical phrases. He may try to tax us to death or take things away from us, but one thing the Americans have that many citizens in other countries don't have and that is the VOTE!!! How could something that polls show most people want endange…wait. Why are we arguring about that? The President wants and is committed to the public option, right?

That's the bizarre, irrational contradiction in the argument of a lot of people here- they will excoriate you for having the nerve to even begin to suggest that the President is not committed to and fighting for the public option, and in the very next virtual breath, they'll excoriate you for…being for the public option.

Why must we be all so preoccupied with the public option. There are places in the world with universal health care WITHOUT a public option (Germany for instance has an all private insurance program which covers all its citizens). I think supporting the public option could endanger his presidency…..ask yourself if the public option is worth the entire political capital of this presidency. Maybe you think it is…but really ponder the question.

The road-tripping, physician-activists from Oregon known as the "Mad As Hell Doctors" received a pressing call from the White House this week to demand they remove a letter on their website requesting a meeting with President Obama to discuss "the moral, social and fiscal imperative" of a single payer health care system. The reason for the call: too many emails from supporters have overwhelmed the White House inbox.

Adam Klugman, National Creative Director for the Mad As Hell Doctors campaign and the person who received the call, puts it this way. "Chris Whitty from the White House Office of Scheduling called me and said that he has been 'besieged with emails' from within the millions of single payer supporters in this country who feel that Congress and the President have completely turned their back on them. It told him that it's not our campaign that's applying pressure. It's the people. I also told him that we'd be glad to take the letter down, just as soon as the President agrees to meet with us."

When Dr. Paul Hochfeld, an E.R. physician from Corvallis, Oregon and a fellow Mad As Hell Doctor, heard about the call he was encouraged.
