Markos is a person – we're talking about a whole damn state sending yahoos like Joe Wilson to DC to holler on their behalf. When Markos becomes an elected official, and does stupid shyt like this while in office, don't think for one minute I won't be on his ass like a fly on shyt.

He made damned sure I didn't get to Netroots this year because of all the hell I raised last year in Austin about his efforts to diversify the panels, while carrying on a love affair with Harold Ford, Jr, and the “debate” that wasn't.

I've already told Markos to his damned face that far from being a progressive, he's liberal FOR PAY, which makes him a Democratic Party PIMP.

I've been to the South – Tennessee, Georgia, Florida…but I haven't seen the wingnuts I've seen coming out of South Carolina.

Even Alabama is doing better than South Carolina, and the only reason Mississippi hasn't cleaned up her act is because of Katrina and a few wingnuts running shyt there.

Out of all the Southern states, only the Commonwealth of Virginia has a Democrat in the State House (Tim Kaine).

Oh, so you think Moulitsas of NetRoots Nation didn't really mean it when he said he supported “states rights”? Maybe you should read, “Markos Moulitsas: A Lifetime Insensitive to Democratic Party Constituencies”

It simply cannot be true BOTH that “states rights” is the rally cry of the Klu Klux Klan AND ALSO a fundamental belief of Markos Moulitsas, the supposedly “leftist”, “liberal”, “progressive” crasher of the Democratic Party.

Moulitsas, who admits he voted for George W. Bush against Clinton in 1992, has said,

“That, in essence, is why I am a Democrat . . .We can FONDLY look back to a time when Republicans spoke a good game on libertarian issues. They professed fealty to state rights, spoke of shrinking the government, preserving individual liberty, and embracing fiscal responsibility.” (Emphasis added.)

I don't “fondly” remember ANYTHING about states rights, but Markos Moulitsas does. Maybe he should secede from the Union along with South Carolina.

The history and some of the nutjobs may turn folks off, but its not any more different than any of the other former Confed.States. Plus, the so-called “black belt” runs straight through there, so you'd find like-minded folks who still wouldn't give a crap about SC.

The 2nd time I visited was for a Steel Pulse concert at the House of Blues (Myrtle Beach). It was cancelled due to a percieved hurricane coming that way (false alarm). That was about a year or so after I graduated college. I ended up at a bar not too far from the College of Charleston with tons of drunk and stoned kids doing the usual thing.
