Glenn Beck statement on resignation of Van Jones – The American people stood up and demanded answers. Instead of providing them, the Administration had Jones resign under cover of darkness. I continue to be amazed by the power of everyday Americans to initiate change in our government through honest questioning, and judging by the other radicals in the administration, I expect that questioning to continue for the foreseeable future.

Walsh is dead on target about Poker playing and for all those who are underestimating Obama:

Keep in mind Barack is a poker player.
Keep in mind he plays his cards close to the chest.
Keep in mind Americans are desperate for leadership, clarity, and education on this issue.
Keep in mind if he was throwing in his hand he wouldn't be giving this speech at all.
Keep in mind that this speech will be watched by a massive audience.
Keep in mind that if he didn't wait this long the audience wouldn't be nearly as massive…

When you start putting all that together you start to get the feeling Barack set this up not to fold, but to bet and raise…

I'm very ticked off with the administration on health care and the only solace I take in all this is that when Obama's back is on the wall and he's being punched by both his haters and supporters, he comes out on top. Somebody up there loves him, because when stuff like this happens, he usually comes out on the right end. So, I'm gonna assume that whomever is looking out for him up there is gonna come through again.

I hear you. I pray for him daily.

Someone else at another site posted this but I think it makes a lot of sense.

“For those of you who will definitely and for all time lose faith in Obama if he doesn't “produce” a public option, that's certainly your right. But I believe that all you can ask of anyone is the best they can do, and if it's simply impossible for him to get legislation passed to implement a public option now, then the best thing is for him to accept that and get everything that is *possible* now while, while leaving a pathway open for more advancement down the road. You know, the Civil Rights Act originally was to contain all the provisions that were eventually broken apart and enacted over the period of several years (basic rights, voting, housing). We couldn't get everything we wanted up front — but we did get what was possible and in the end, we got it all. In hindsight, the wait was very worthwhile.

The way I see it, we're fortunate enough to have a president who is intelligent and hard-working and in my opinion) has the right priorities. (And when you compare it to what we had from 2000-2008 that's quite a miracle.) I'm not giving up on him if he “settles” for the best that he can get.

Because it's not just up to him, you know. Ultimately the American people say what happens in this country … and we're still dealing with a 'people' that re-elected George Bush. That pretty much says it all. And they might well have elected John McCain if he hadn't shot himself in the foot with a certain Alaskan Governor. And a lot of those people — quite possibly enough of them to motivate them at the polls when they next vote for Representatives and Senators (or at least so those Representatives and Senators believe) — are simply terrified of a public option.

The question isn't “what is the best outcome for this health care reform effort?” …. it's “what is the best POSSIBLE outcome?” As long as President Obama aims for and works for and largely achieves that, he will have my support.”

I'm just glad that those involved in the long, slow, hard struggle for civil rights didn't get indignant and wash their hands from leaders who were trying to make headway as readily as some of the people posting here seem prepared to do. Eyes on the prize.

i know some won't believe me, but i desperately want him to come out swinging on wednesday.

Maybe if he added more words to his vocabulary other than ” Obama sit in a black racist church for twenty years” might be good.

White House Social Secretary–and HuffPost readers' pick for Washington's Best-Dressed Woman–Desiree Rogers entered Vanity Fair's 'New Establishment List' at number 28 this year. The list highlights the top 100 Information Age powers, or most influential people in society and pop culture. The editors had this to say about Rogers:

STAGE OF GLOBAL CONQUEST: Bringing glamour and energy to her role as White House social secretary, the Harvard M.B.A. sees herself as keeper of “the best brand on earth: the Obama brand.” She has infused what she calls “the people's house” with a younger, hipper, and artsier spirit through a flurry of events such as its first-ever “poetry jam.” She made room for a dance floor in the State Dining Room so the nation's governors–and the president–could join a conga line as Earth, Wind & Fire performed.

They also noted her fashion sense and friendship with Anna Wintour, her love of yoga, and her use of the Internet to send out 30,000 tickets for the White House Easter Egg Roll instead of making citizens wait in line.

Rogers wasn't the only White House employee to make the list — David Axelrod, Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett, and Pete Rouse all came it at number 15, ranked together as members of Obama's inner circle.

You are not alone in thinking that.
I have not lost faith. I never had faith in him. I wanted a reality based President. Reality does not appear to be his strong suit as President.

The onus remains on President Obama to present and sign a health care reform bill w/ the public option. Without it even if every other reform is passed the bill will not provide heath insurance to those without. The terms of the new bill will actually have more people off the roles as they will not be able to meet the new premiums. Without the public option, i.e. a government run program w/out the profit motive premiums will rise and more people will lose health care. These people like the others without health care insurance will then be forced to use the most expensive care possible the emergency room. Even then they will not be able t afford their prescriptions.
The onus remains on the President.

Hey, y'all….some stuff from the weekend:

1. Steele's comment at HU was stupid. That said, he was very good at Chesterfield's NAACP dinner. Especially compared to DNC chair Tim Kaine, who most people agreed was way too partisan for the event.

2. We had McDonnell out in the streets of Norfolk this weekend, and he got a really good reception…

3. …and an even better run around Afr'Am Fest here (where we sponsored the shirts for the volunteers).

And on top of all this, all of the latest polls still have us up, anywhere from 7-12 points. So much for the “macaca thesis.”

It's nice that Keith Olbermann wants to go after Glenn Beck and I hope he succeeds in getting him out but he also needs to go after people like Pat Buchanan.

Remember that the macaca moment took a while to affect the campaign.

You're twisting history. Since you want to make this analogous to the civil rights movement… you would be the equivalent of the sort of person who wanted MLK to slow down.
