Rikyrah – Why, after the machine that you favor has taken over so many local economies with the promises of quality education, safe streets and economic prosperity are you now needed to nationalize your need for health care?

Ironically this need for health care was a fundamental requirement all the while there was a run for power. The thing that frustrates me about people who think like you is that you fail to make note of the two key components to health care services:

1) The Financing Of Such Services

2) The Skilled Practitioners to Execute These Services

Fundamentally with your Multiple Tax Payer Paid Heatlh Care you are ONLY concerned about “BEING IN RECEIPT OF THE HEALTH CARE BENEFIT”. You don't ask a damned thing from the people who you seek to cover. Will there be an abundance of new African-American Doctors to go into our communities and provide such services?

Worse yet despite the take over that you cheered these areas are less able to fund these needed services than ever before.

You say its the INSURANCE COMPANIES? I struggle to understand how the $14 billion in profits that the evil health insurance companeis have made per year is so problematic yet you will to have your NEW INSURANCE COMPANY – the Federal government despite the fact that it has a $1,800 billion DEFICIT for one year.

If PROFITS are evil ……….what do you think about massive deficits that dwarf these profits?

You say you want “Single Payer Health Care” – akin to Medicare.
In addition to the debt – Medicare will be broke in 2020 and Social Security insolvent in 2035. I struggle to understand what vision you are using about the future and how you feel that some signature on a bill for SINGLE PAYER HEALTH CARE will be any more valuable than the GM labor contract signed before their bankruptcy?

Look, I said a long time ago that even though Obama, if he was actually elected, would be the most prominent “black face in a high place” in history, he still would essentially be one more “black face in a high place” If all the ones that came before haven't achieved what those “firsts” are supposed to achieve in terms of acceptance by now, then this “first” won't either. Of course, I can't say the fact that he's black doesn't mean anything to me at all, but first and foremost, I voted to have a Democratic President, with a Democratic administration. When it comes down to it, I regard him as a Democratic President, and I'm going to treat him as such, which includes criticism when it seems appropriate. Why wouldn't I?

It seems to me that this goes beyond the healthcare debate. When you say “they” will win something, and we will get nothing, what are you talking about, exactly?

Some of you are acting as if this is 1950, and some prominent black person just HAS to be supported in absolutely everything they do or don't do, no matter how one may feel about it, and anything he/she does just HAS to be construed as right and successful, or else we won't prove that we're a capable people. It's 2009. We've proven it and then some. And then some more. Those who don't believe never will.
