People are right to complain about the Obama Administration, BUT they are not using the right reasons and the cacophony of voices constitute a confused din. The problem with the eight months of the Obama Presidency is NO, repeat, NO PLANNING! Problem #1. Barack has surrounded himself with Clinton Administration retreads who have less creativity than Garfield the cat. Problem #2. Attempting to negotiate with racist Republicans who are constantly scheming and plotting traps for his downfall. Problem #3. Negotiating and bargining with the very K Street lobbyists he vowed to get rid of in the Presidential campaign. Problem #4. Barack is running the White House as if it some sort of fast food franchise. Appoint advisors, attend to the day to day questions and routine consultations, talk to military advisors, etc.

Barack needs to prioritize the need to include frequent POLITICAL STRATEGY MEETINGS with experienced dedicated people who can help him plan offensive maneuvers against the political opposition. (Notice I did not say Republican opposition caus' he gots plenty of Democrats agin' him.)

Currently the central issue that must be dealt with from a strategy point of view is RECOVERING HIS POLITICAL BASE. These are all those young white campaign workers who went tirelessly from door to door carrying his message,"Change You Can Believe in". Us black folks are here waiting as part of his base, but Barack's pollitical clout came from all of us, black and white who worked to get him elected. If he wants to survive politically he needs to "damn the torpedos" and full steam ahead to restore his strong enthusiastic base.

Folks, there's a lot on the table here, namely the future of America in the form of the New National Energy Grid, Renewable energy, rebuilding America's infrastructure (Data, Transportation and Water systems), global military stategy, and oh yes Health care in the 21st century. The crackers recognize this and they are fighting like hell to keep it all to themselves and their offspring. Currently, the only weapon they have is to keep us distracted with Bull Shyt stuff like fat ass Limbaugh and dip shyt Beck, Savage and the rest of the circus clowns. WE BLACK folks MUST keep our eyes on what the future holds in store for America, and plan accordingly if we want our piece of that American pie for ourselves and our children.

Experience! I'm surrounded by white liberals all day. I have to head
out the door, but I can tell you without a doubt they are patronizing
and parochial to people of color. They say they value diversity, but
you will NEVER find them east of the Anacostia in DC where the
majority minority live. In fact, they turn red at the mere mention of
SE. They say they value public education, but look at the actual
numbers that send their white kids to public schools with Black kids:
25 percent!

A lot of hearts are sinking. Mine began going down last year when Obama made that absurd speech on Fathers' Day. I hung in there but I kept my emotional distance. Afghanistan and a few other issues dd the rest for me. I was glad he won but I no longer trust him at all.

I will most certainly concede the White House has handled this
terribly. We're told he plays poker, but he doesn't appear to be good
at it. He not only let them peep his hold card, he glued it to his
forehead. Remember, I was the one who got a verbal beatdown for days
for that very criticism. But we are where we are, and it doesn't
appear we are anywhere near having the votes for a public option (at
least in the form we would ideally like to see it). That said, I
think it would be immoral to throw the proverbial baby out with the
bath water.

If we were actually debating the political viability of the adoption and passage of the public option you would have, in my opinion, early on conceded that Obama and his team did everything they could to marginalize and squash the public option even before he took the oath of office. In this scenario I would see you as an ally who, while recognizing that the work ahead has been made excruciatingly difficult by Obama and his team, wants to salvage something good out of the bad.

I think, though, that you and others who share this viewpoint have to first concede that Obama and his team have been working to undermine the public option from the jump. You can't claim that he has been straining for symmetry, i.e., working to bring irregular halves together in a fractious political environment. He has not been doing the Lord's work on this issue and you and others can't keep trying to convince me and others that he has and that you are on our side.

You can't have it both ways. Obama is not our enemy but he is not our friend or ally on this issue. That dog can't hunt.
