THE REPUBLICAN PARTY: We can't govern worth a shit, but we can BITCH! BITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHmmmmgh(getting teabagged) BITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCH!
Margaret, I haven’t laughed so hard since Katie Couric interviewed Sarah Palin. A few thousand white folks called in sick to work last week so they could parade around the nation’s capital on Saturday and Fox News declares a revolution is underway. My goodness. I don’t know which is more sad – the fact that they couldn’t spell half the words written on their illegible signs or that they all left their white hoods at home. Bring the hippies back. Their protests were much more entertaining.
Just to give you some perspective:
* 1925 - Ku Klux Klan – 35,000 KKK members marched on Washington * 1963 – March for Freedom with Martin Luther King – 250,000 marched * 1969 – March to end the Vietnam War – 600,000 marched * 1993 – Gay and Lesbian Rights – 800,000 marched * 1995 – Million Man March – 600,000 marched * 2004 – March for Women’s Lives (Pro-Choice) – over 1 million marched * 2009 – Obama Inauguration – over 1 million celebrate * September 12, 2009 – Tea Party Hillbilly Rally - 78,000 marched but only 3 seemed to know what they were marching about.
I’ll tell you what Margaret. You would never know by watching Fox News that 78,000 racists marching on the nation’s capital was cause for concern. You would think we were finally winning the war against the British. Of course, according to Harold’s television set, larger crowds gathered at dozens of football games that day so what the hell do I care.
Let me just say something about the 9-12 Project. On September 12, 2001 everyone was an American. There were no Blue States and no Red States. There were no Black Americans and no White Americans. There were no Europeans, no Asians, no Hispanics, no Africans… The world was standing with America against the evil that is terrorism. The globe was united like never before. And what did our President do when given that moment? He told us all to go shopping while he and his buddies planned a war. And 8 years later the 9-12 project has been reduced to a movement of no Blacks, no Hispanics, no Asians… just 78,000 white people who can’t spell.
But it’s not really these 78,000 marchers that worry me. It’s the media that gives them so much attention. Did anyone else notice that when a million Pro-Choice women marched on Washington and 50 nut-jobs stood on the corner mis-quoting the bible, it was the bible thumping nut-jobs getting more coverage on the evening news? I mean 5 KKK members march down Main Street and the news crews out number the marchers 10 to 1.
69 million people voted for Barack Obama knowing full well that Universal Healthcare was a major issue in his campaign. 78,000 people marched on Washington claiming that America has been stolen. Now I am not an expert, but I have to believe that fancy CNN map of John King’s should be able to figure out that math.
The biggest problem facing America today isn’t the war, the economy, healthcare or even racism. The biggest threat to America is the lack of news coverage in our newscasts. Honestly I don’t give a damn what LaToya Jackson thinks, what Paris Hilton ate, what Hillary Clinton is wearing or who Brad Pitt is dating. And I especially don’t give a rat’s ass what 78,000 peckerwoods with too much time on their hands think about something as complicated as Universal Healthcare.
You know what would have been a good news story? How many of those yahoos marching last weekend actually have health insurance much less a full set of teeth? Did anyone bother to ask that question?
Wednesday, September 16, 2009 But we can do worse with Tyler Perry… Let’s jump right on in!
Tyler Perry of the Madea creating and performing Tyler Perrys has a new movie out…featuring Madea. I Can Do Bad All By Myself is his latest offering (wince).
Full disclosure – a bitch can’t stand Madea.
The only thing I dislike more than Madea’s shuffle and jive antics is the fact that lots and lots and lots of people keep paying to see that predictable as hell and ig’nant with it bullshit.
I secretly hope that Perry’s box office is actually the result of the same 500 people going to watch his movies over and over again…but something tells me that there is an audience for Madea and it is loyal as hell (wince again).
But hey, there was an audience for Amos and Andy too…
…that don’t make it right.
Cough.
Tyler Perry has a franchise with Madea…he has a formula...a recipe, if you will.
Some ingredients for a Tyler Perry Madea film include...
1 cup one dimensional cheating and evil with it devilishly bad black man 2 cups black woman gone wrong 3 gallons Live and Let God 1 cup unappreciated hard working blue collar black man looking for a “good woman” 2 cups chil’ren acting out because they aren’t being raised in the church 2 or 3 famous black people/singers
Mix any three ingredients or all that shit up first and then toss Madea’s ass up in the bowl, stir and bake and serve up to the masses.
Ta da – you’ve got yourself a guaranteed to get shit reviews but make lots and lots of money film!
Ugh.
Now, a bitch isn’t trying to piss in Tyler Perry’s flavorless Corn Flakes.
He has a hustle and that ain’t my damn problem.
What is my problem is that Mr. Perry has been tapped to adapt and direct the film version of Ntozake Shange’s 1975 play “For Colored Girls who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf".
Pause…wait for the screaming to quiet down to intermittent sobs…continue.
Although he's no masterful director, my specific issue is with Perry adapting For Colored Girls.
I’ve done nothing in this life to deserve having the man behind Madea fucking up For Colored Girls and I have little doubt that he will fuck it up.
Hell, I’m hoping for a miracle here, because For Colored Girls deserves the very best or nothing at all.
That’s right, I said it – there is no need to bring just any version or a man’s version or the version y’all could get bankrolled of For Colored Girls to the screen!
Have we learned nothing from Beloved?!?
Merciful heavens.
There are so many people who have no idea what For Colored Girls is…who have never seen it performed, never witnessed it’s power or experienced it’s beauty.
Those folks deserve better or nothing.
And a bitch can’t help but wonder who the hell decided that Mr. Perry was the right person to do the job.
I’m pretty sure that money is behind the reason why a woman wasn’t given the nod to direct it (and behind Perry’s selection of black celebrities with more name recognition that talent to star in it)…but that don’t make that shit right.
And I’m betting that Mr. Perry’s ego is behind his getting to adapt For Colored Girls.
Shudder.
Well, this bitch can do without Tyler Perry’s take on a womanist classic.
Michael Moore gets it. The Dem/Progressivee/Liberal Obama bashers need to listen to this man.

This isn't a democracy this is a constitutional republic, our representives were elected to enforce the laws to protect us. The laws were not inforced by the SEC, and regulations were loosened by the president and congreesional committees, Capitalism provides opportunity, It does'nt care what color you are or your gender, It's not emotional, and had no feelings. It only cares about profit. If you can make the company money than you will make more money, It givens the brightest and most productive a reward. It doesnt reward laziness and wastefulness, those people will be unemployeed, and will say "its not fair!!!!" Capitalism rewards the risk taker. Socalism takes the reward from the risk taker. So why should the Capitalism build a business or invent new products if there no reward???? Why invent a new fuel system if all the money you'll make from selling it goes to the government??? Stop being afraid to work and a f**king victim ALL THE TIME, and need mr government to help me........... It just get so old to listen the the claptrap.... Our kids then depend on government for everything, We then have a new class... The ruling class ....government officals (don't have to live by the laws that they pass for us..aka Charlie rangle, newt gingrich etc.... The middle class.. own homes or business trying to build something for their kids future... (government hates this group, because they don't need Governemt to live daily).... The dependant class....they rise at about 12:30, keep a job for a couple weeks, oppps. get pregant, Oopps.. who's the daddy..... who cares daddy governments there... IT's learned behavior.....The government incourages it. that my friend is the result of your socialism. "lack of responsibility."

Advisers to Obama Are Split on Afghan Troop Request (Snippets)
By PETER BAKER and ELISABETH BUMILLER Published: September 26, 2009
WASHINGTON — As President Obama weighs sending more troops to Afghanistan, one of the most consequential decisions of his presidency, he has discovered that the military is not monolithic in support of the plan and that some of the civilian advisers he respects most have deep reservations.
Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal’s troop request, which was submitted to the Pentagon on Friday, has reignited a longstanding debate within the military about the virtues of the counterinsurgency strategy popularized by Gen. David H. Petraeus in Iraq and now embraced by General McChrystal, the top American and NATO commander in Afghanistan.
General McChrystal is expected to ask for as many as 40,000 additional troops for the eight-year-old war, a number that has generated concern among top officers like Gen. George W. Casey Jr., the Army chief of staff, who worry about the capacity to provide more soldiers at a time of stress on the force, officials said.
While Mr. Obama is hearing from more hawkish voices, including those of Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Richard C. Holbrooke, the special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, some outside advisers relied on by Mr. Obama have voiced doubts.
Former Secretary of State Colin L. Powell, a retired four-star Army general, visited Mr. Obama in the Oval Office this month and expressed skepticism that more troops would guarantee success, according to people briefed on the discussion. Mr. Powell reminded the president of his longstanding view that military missions should be clearly defined.
Mr. Powell is one of the three people, with Senator John F. Kerry and Senator Jack Reed, considered by White House aides to be most influential in this current debate. All have expressed varying degrees of doubt about the prospect of sending more forces to Afghanistan.
In the West Wing, beyond Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., who has advocated an alternative strategy to the troop buildup, other presidential advisers sound dubious about more troops, including Rahm Emanuel, the chief of staff, and Gen. James L. Jones, the national security adviser, according to people who have spoken with them.
Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates has not endorsed General McChrystal’s request yet, viewing the situation as “complicated,” said one person who has spoken with him. But Mr. Gates, who will be an influential voice in Mr. Obama’s decision, has also left open the door for more troops and warned of the consequences of failure in Afghanistan.
The military media propaganda complex is in full swing.President Obama said he would escalate, the generals want more troops but there is no end game.Just like every other fuck up the redumblicans left us, so we would have to fix it.The Afghan war may be our gordian knot.Instead of trying to find a solution to what is a intractable problem,President Obama should like legend said ,do what Alexander did, just say fuck it and cut it off.
Its a no win sitution.Unless we buy all the opium crops to cut off funding for the insurgents, replace the criminal regime led by Karzai. It wont matter how many troops we pour in there.Oh I forget about this, do something about funding from Saudi Arabia to Bin Laden.

What is missing from USofA media's dialog, the Afghan war is a NATO initiative with Britain, France and Germany.

Some things are so predictable It's pretty much a given that Georgia is a red state, chock full of teabaggers and states rights foamers who fuss constantly about socialism, the intrusive federal government, and abolishing all taxes. The opinion blogs on the AJC are full of rants about how evil the Democrats are, Obama wasn't born in this country, and we're all going to hell in a handbasket because of the meddlers in Washington, DC.
Then we had a flood.
You guessed it.
The cry has changed from "Obama's a socialist!" to "Give me a FEMA check!!" and complaining that the federal disaster declarations didn't go out fast enough and don't cover a wide enough area.
Totally typical. This state is full of people who don't want to pay taxes, don't think they should pay any attention to government regulations, and spend a lot of time fulminating about individual responsibility and getting government off our collective backs. As soon as something goes wrong, though, they're right there demanding help immediately, and bitching when it's not delivered fast enough.
Once their living rooms dry out, it's also totally predictable they'll go right back to ranting about socialism and getting the government off their backs. In fact, it's totally predictable they'll also bitch about the process, the financial assistance being inadequate, and the response being too slow. For some people, there are no learning experiences. http://mannikkomaki.blogspot.com/2009/09/some-t...

Just empty rhetoric and brains for those types. They must be descendents from the act first, think later or never crowd...
fyi....not sure if I can get this in my area. I'm rooting for Roland Martin's new show.
""Sure, we're going to have people from Congress on the show. We're going to have policymakers. "We're going to have people who are state legislators, people who are mayors, people who are operating from around the country. See, I don't live in the Beltway. I can't stand the Beltway mentality. We need to have people who are talking about the issues that we care about who are not from Washington, D.C., saying, 'This is what we care about in Greensboro, North Carolina; inColumbus, Ohio; in Houston, in Oakland, and all around the country.'
"It is quite offensive that in 2009 when you say that we can look at the first family, a black family in the White House, but we are virtually nonexistent on Sunday morning. That is offensive, and it is as if (Sunday morning bookers) can't find black talent."
Speaking of talent, "Washington Watch" will also tap politically-involved entertainers who otherwise haven't found a platform for their causes, Martin said.
"I am sick of the notion that somehow Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and George Clooney and Bono are the only people who are in entertainment who are involved in public policy, " he said. "When Gabrielle Union comes to Washington, D.C. to testify about increased funding for rape crisis centers -- because she was raped years ago -- she gets no love on any of these shows. When Don Cheadle was there talking about Darfur, and when you have other folks who are on Capitol Hill talking about education, talking about crime, they are not covered.
"They are going to be covered on this show. We will provide a voice not only for policymakers, not only for African Americans who were in Congress on Capital Hill, but also African Americans who are in entertainment who are doing some amazing things in America and across the globe who are ignored every single day by all the other news shows in this country."
Conservatives must stop demonizing the census by desmoinesdem, Sat Sep 26, 2009 at 02:46:53 PM EST
The U.S. Constitution requires that the government conduct a census every ten years. Population counts determine federal funding for various programs, as well as the number of Congressional districts allocated to each state, so the public interest in conducting a thorough census is obvious.
The next census will take place in 2010, but some right-wing loudmouths and Republican politicians have unfortunately demonized the effort as an intrusive government plot. Over at Think Progress, Faiz Shakir recaps some of the paranoid chatter from Representative Michele Bachmann (MN-06) and Glenn Beck of Fox News. Shakir also cites radio host Neal Boortz, who told his listeners, "Most of the rest of the [Census] information is designed to help the government steal from you in order to pass off your property to the moochers. They're looters."
Not long ago I discussed my worries about the rhetoric of armed resistance coming from the political right, and I've been reflecting on this problem since I heard about census-taker Bill Sparkman's murder. Sparkman was found naked and bound with "fed" written on his chest and his census ID taped to his neck. In rural Kentucky,
Sparkman's gruesome death has ignited a debate over whether it was a byproduct of harsh anti-government rhetoric on talk shows, blogs and protests. Residents of impoverished Clay County say most people harbor no resentment for agents of the federal government, and they're baffled by Sparkman's apparent killing.
Sheriff Kevin Johnson, a native, said most residents feel a measure of gratitude to the federal government.
"We've been a poverty-stricken area pretty much all our lives," he said. "The government's taking care of 70 percent of people here, through Social Security, SSI, food stamps, Medicare and Medicaid."
None of those programs could function without the demographic data the Census Bureau provides.
If conservative politicians and opinion leaders keep stoking fears about the government using census data to steal from or perhaps even round up law-abiding citizens, I am concerned that mentally unstable individuals will commit further acts of violence against census-takers next year. Republicans should condemn the hatemongers and make clear that the census is not only permitted, but required under the Constitution. http://www.mydd.com/story/2009/9/26/144653/894
