I thought that Baratunde did an outstanding job, and I am not just saying that to be kind. I don't hear many of those questions coming from other interviewers. And I didn't think the interview was softball at all.

As for hard-edged pinning down follow-up questions, he would have been straight disrespectful to go there in a forum like this. That is not his role here. Nor is it to go Lawrence O'Donnell on that stupid “take back our country” lady. It ain't Hardball, it's a saturday morning at a conference. It was a very fine tightrope that had to be walked between learning more, serious-vs.light, tough questions, and respect for the position. I thought Baratunde absolutely nailed it.
