I am agnostic, educated, and have eclectic tastes, but I fit into the Single–never married 70% category. Oh well, I guess I can't be completely stereotypically free.

“Black Folks Have Historically Fraught Relationship With The (Racist) Cops” This is true and, unfortunately, the fact that there are far more Black police officers has barely changed this a wit.

Here's why: The "price" in our society of abusing Blacks is nil. No police officer will suffer penalties for abusing Blacks in most cases, regardless of the skin color of the officer. What governs the "price" of abusing Blacks is not the color of the officer, but the color of the Black victim.

When police officers join the force, they are trained to treat Blacks in a certain way, regardless of what color the officers themselves are. Are Black officers free to do a different job than white officers? Of course not!

Can a Black police officer be color-aroused to treat Blacks as if they have no rights. Of course they can, if only because the price of doing so to Blacks is so much less. Police officers do their repressive jobs in the Black community regardless of the color of the police officer. That's why you saw a Black official standing in the foreground of the photo in which Professor Gates was being dragged out of his house in handcuffs. Gates' treatment was based on the color of GATES' skin, not on the color of the police officers' skin.

It can be said now clearly that all of the actions of the Pan Africanist and Civil Rights people were just a mere attempt to fight the yoke of stereotypes we as Black people are enslaved by.Stereotypes are the new forms of slavery and bondage.

As a black female who is middle class and agnostic– with black gays, cops and educated married women as friends and family . . . . and whose heart goes out to all the missing, (not just the ones Nancy Grace splatters on the screen) I'm sick as hell about how the clueless media portrays black folks.

They don't get it. They'll never get it. Hell– not only do they not get it, but if they all of a sudden got it, they wouldn't know what to do with it.
