Sometimes, these blog articles literally write themselves.  With everything loony and loco coming out of the mouths of those who purport to speak for the Republican Party, they are giving every INDICATION of when religious movements actually become CULTS.  Another hat tip to Logan Murphy at Crooks and Liars (I swear, I actually camp out over there):

The Republican Party has a huge problem on their hands. They are quickly being taken over by the most extreme, paranoid, fringe elements in our society and this case is just another glaring example of the path they are on:

BOISE, Idaho — An Idaho Republican Party leader who helped oust the state GOP chairman in 2008 faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after an altercation escalated while he photographed a home with a delinquent mortgage.

Challis McAffee, 33, the GOP chairman from the Boise suburb of Garden City and one of 231 voting members of the Idaho Republican Central Committee, was in Ada County jail after being accused of pointing a gun at the homeowner.

This just gets better:

According to police in the Boise suburb of Meridian, resident Robert Lutes called officers just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to report McAffee had pointed a .357 Magnum handgun at him during a verbal confrontation. McAffee acknowledged he pointed the gun at Lutes, according to the police account.

“I’m unarmed, I’m an old man,” Lutes, 51, told The Associated Press on Thursday. “I’m trying to find out why he’s taking pictures of my house. I said, ‘Knock on my door, let me know what you want.’ Then, I think he’s reaching for his business card and he pulls out a concealed weapon and I think he’s going to blow my head off.” Read on…

Okay, let’s recap the past couple of weeks, months or years:

Those damned teabagging parties that were supposed to be reminiscent of the Boston Tea Party.  Problem is, when it was done in Boston, it was done to protest using American money to support the British Monarchy.  Y’all never did provide a reason that had any logic to it for yours except give new meaning to the phrase “teabagging”.  CHECK.

Gun toting people show up at Public Town Hall events – even show up where the POTUS is appearing.  CHECK.

Barney Frank bitch-slaps a planted teabagger who tried to shame him at his Town Hall and wound up being SHAMED. CHECK.

Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs and Bill O’Reilly publicly advocate for increased violence at public events in an attempt to stifile dissent the way George Bush used to do. Beck is being forced to take a vacation because they American People are tired of being assaulted on the airwaves with his Nazi rhetoric and are threatening to quit doing business with Beck’s advertisers.  CHECK

Woman shouts “Heil, Hitler!” at a  Town Hall meeting who has no health care insurance, mocks him and then declares that she’s a “GOOD CHRISTIAN” when she’s burned on her outburst.  CHECK.

Somehow, the phrases “Heil, Hitler!” and “Good Christian” do not EVER belong in the same sentence, under ANY circumstances.

The House on C Street is not a haven for Christian politicos, but is fast becoming the local Capitol Hill brothel and Congressional Mafia Hangout.  CHECK.

Outing an undercover CIA agent because her husband wrote an Op-Ed in the NYT and said y’all lied about WMD and the reasons for going to war.  CHECK.

Being required to sign “loyalty pledges” at Republican Town Hall events, or anywhere George Bush was going to be in attendance, including the voting booth.

Uninviting Harry Belafonte to Coretta Scott King’s funeral because your boy Bush was going to be there, but I don’t think he was ready for the pimp-slaps he took from Congressional Medal of Freedom winner Joe Lowery.  DOUBLE CHECK.

To any remaining, sensisble Republican Party members – YOU NEED TO “MAN UP” AND TAKE BACK YOUR PARTY. I mean, for real, are any of you SIGNING OFF on the shyt that is being done in YOUR NAME?  At least when the Democratic Party was wrestled away from the Klan toting Crackers who didn’t want to sign off on the Civil Rights Bill back in 1964, it at least got taken over by the dirty phucking hippies that actually had some cot-damned sense to be concerned about their fellow AMERICANS; regardless of class, race, gender, physical challenge, ethnicity. creed and religion and govern ACCORDINGLY. 

They still allow for dissent (have you been on this board the past few days on the healthcare legislation debate – your party doesn’t allow HALF of the dissent we do here).  Your party doesn’t allow for dissent, disagreement or independence of thought.  I used to respect how Tom DeLay used to drop the Hammer on wayward Republicans when they wanted to get legislation PASSED, but what the extreme fringes of the party are doing now days – it looks, acts like and smells like a damned CULT.

I mean, when a gun is pulled on the POTUS at public events by one of your own Party members, how can you own the attempted murder of the President of the United States?

When 84-year old women get tasered by the police because of laws you bastards passed that allows them that freedom, your party has to own that shyt, because of the atmosphere that facilitates the bigotry that leads to such activity.

When dissent is stifled and called patriotism; when you cannot agree to disagree without busting a cap in someone’s ass to get your point across; when you want to lynch any Democrat for sexual indiscretions, but we’re expected to allow your leaders a free pass when they get caught with their slips showing and drawers hanging (David Vitter, Mark Foley, Larry Craig, John Ensign, Mark Sanford and the list keeps growing); when you go along with all this shyt because you don’t want to get kicked out of the group -

YOUR GROUP HAS OFFICIALLY BECOME A CULT.  Only cults engage in this type of totality and control to the point they bust caps in anyone’s ass who attempts to demonstrate an independent thought or disagree with the majority.  You either brainwash them until they give in, or you excommunicate them like the Church does with sinners.

Here’s the definition of what constitutes a cult and damn if y’all don’t fit the description:

1. a particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies.
2. an instance of great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing, esp. as manifested by a body of admirers: the physical fitness cult.
3. the object of such devotion.
4. a group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc.
5. Sociology. a group having a sacred ideology and a set of rites centering around their sacred symbols.
6. a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader.

It was bad enough when you allowed Rush Limbaugh to become the official HEAD OF THE GOP.  I guess it wasn’t too much of a stretch to expect Fox Noise to become your official Religious channel, or to expect the Republican Party to evolve (or devolve) into a cult, was it?
