I am in agreement with you on several of the points you make . I too am an educated man. I was raised by my mother and father even though they were separated. I had other adults who played a vital part in my life (The Village). I have made the same observation and have pondered the same thing. Why? Have you read The Willie Lynch Letter ? It spells out the reasons for the our state of being. Only a few of us are aware of this psychological slavery that exist today. I have tried to talk to our young brothers and sisters, some of them are receptive to the message. However most are just not willing to listen to the message. I even showed them a DVD produced a by a like minded Brother Reggie Bullock " A War For Your Soul". This brother hit it on the head with this DVD. When you take the current economic, social, political , and spiritual factors into consideration. We as a race of people have to get back to our roots. Know our true history, not that bullshit that was taught in our school systems. The mis-education of our people has played a significant role in our asimilation into the mainstream society. When one knows the truth about their history. Then one is more than capable of navigating through the obstacles that are strategically placed in ones way.

Look at these young blacks, not all, but more than can be explained, out on the streets, murdereing their own, can't complete a sentence, and acting like fools. That's chaining yourself to the streets, and that's self emposed slavery. I know my history and I don't want to relive it. I work hard, have a good education(thanks to my parents) and the respect of my friends and coworkers. I watch as the majority of the black community can't understand why we do these things to ourself. When I can, I try to explain, it's hate and fear. Hate of the past that's been drilled into their minds every day, and the fear of not having our history as an excuse for our present.

"brutha", you walk out of somebody else's office building everyday, not your own. Now what typecast are you fighting when Wells Fargo actually implements a program to intentionally hurt minorities? What typecast are you fighting when schools such as the Univ of IL admits to admitting students based on connections (guess what race they were all magically classified as?) all the while others are hollering about "affirmative action" being unfair? What pray tell is the typecast you are fighting when you had businesses admitting ON AIR they would rather hire a white ex-felon than a college educated black man with NO criminal record?? The only typecast you're fighting is the obvious ploy of a comment you've posted.

Appreciate your feedback. But you dont even know me. Before you make a comment. Do me a courtesy of introducing your self. So that I may have a dialogue/debate with you. As far as self made brand of slavery goes, I consider myself free to express my opinions. Whats your position? Do you acknowledge the your history? "Betta check ya heart before ya start ta speak ya mind!

We are now enslaving us. Stop committing crime, stop these stupid no snitch insanity, stop acting like brainless babboons and stay in school and study.
One black U.S President does not a Post- racial America make.

I'll cite a few reasons here:

Black folks have the highest % of prison incarcerations

Recent SC rulings on Voter's Right Act- and the Ricci vs New Haven CT= reverse affirmative action- SMH

As long as we have coons like unca Clarence on the court…….

The 4th of July is a rough holiday for me. My late brother's birthday is July 5th and I try to take a few minutes that day and "talk" to him. I like to think that he can see the fireworks and knows that his little sister still misses him.

Thanks for letting me share that. :)

As far as Black people being Black and patriotic, I'm not surprised that some Black people may struggle with it. I look at my Black sisters around the world and know that in another country I would have it just that much harder. But I'm also quick to disagree with my government and point out the hypocrisy that America engages in some time.

This country was built on the backs and sweat of Black people. Black people fought, marched and died for rights that as CITIZENS of this country they were entitled to.

And because of that, Black people are MORE patriotic. We have exercised the right to free speech, informed the government that we have a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and have forced this country to realized that it ain't all sunshine and roses for some of us.

If anybody questions my patriotism, I'll just tell 'em to read this speech and try again.

The Emancipation Proclamation? Institutional racism and discrimination.
Economic exploitation, capitalistic manipulations.
America its time for our reparations!

Just give it to us in our weight in gold .
For all of the ones that were bought and sold .

Like livestock on an auction block….
They didnt come here like the Pilgrims ….
They didnt land on Plymouth Rock!!!!!!!
