As for your other points about broadcast decency, I do think it should be heartily re-examined – but I also understand why it hasn't been done yet. It's only when the main public as a body begins to truly eye Conservatives with suspicion and disgust that most of the things they had a hand in initiating get reversed.

Unfortunately, for the time being, more people will be shocked and horrified by the word “blowjob” than by hearing about how many people have died due to politically- or religiously-motivated violence. Until that changes, I don't see broadcast decency standards changing.

And then there's this jackass Pat Robertson, whose family and religious values start in other people's bedrooms and minds. For me especially, seeing the venom and bile come to the surface with people I didn't suspect (and those I did) has been sobering. It also reminds me to take nobody and nothing for granted.

Seeing him especially go on his angry, spittle-flying rants is both infuriating and really funny for me. Infuriating because the very fact that opinions like this are on air encourages others to follow his absolutely lazy stereotypical thinking, and worse yet to think that this is somehow okay or somehow valuable. On the other hand, it's really funny because these same conservatives that agree with him always talked so loudly about how they're oh-so-logical, and how everyone else is all emotional and uneducated. Pot, kettle, what?

They know very well what his views are but continue to give him a platform. He uses the word “Affirmative Action baby” as if it's a disgusting bad thing & spew racist venom while other panelist sit there with their mouths opens looking @ him.

When is it enough~ MSNBC allows Pat Buchanan to use the air waves to advocate violence and murder against 19 year old Levi Johnston and they think he is being funny. I too want Pat Buchanan off TV. For the last month or so–when it was announced that Starbucks was teaming up with Morning Joe–I've been on a one woman boycott of Starbucks. Now I know that denying Starbucks by $4.25 a day venti caramel macchiato fix won't put a dent in their profits, so I kept it to myself. But last night while watching this racist arsonist as Tavis Smiley aptly described Buchanan, I thought why? Why should I not be more vocal about my boycott? Why am I not trying to get other folks to join me?

If Starbucks' market collapsed in “Liberal America” aka Manhatten, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle, Starbucks' would effectively collapse. MSNBC certainly couldn't ignore our complaints if Daily Kos et al launched a boycott of Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow, their two most popular shows, until they publicly denounced Pat Buchanan.
