Indeed.

It was charming, and sad..as I often scramble the words when I sing that same song.. It was poignant to me because he said: Light up your face with SADNESS, hide every trace of GLADNESS...which is what I sometimes sing, and it changes the entire message of the song.

Check out Larry King tonight for Michael's dermatologist's ideas about how MJ viewed himself. It seems he also thinks Mike saw his face as a piece of art.

I wonder who it was in the family that requested him? Who were the guitar players jermaine and tito? Cause Mayer said, on LarryKing, he did not know and had not met MJ, so when he was asked he clarified with them was it the family requesting him or not. His remarks were not only interesting but very compassionate.

im stepping away from some of them
they are treating Michael's death like a joke
i guess it takes something like this
to let you know how certain people really feel

and your right no one is asking them to love Michael
they don't even have to like him
but atleast give him some respect

i think they would treat George Bush death with more respect and he's responsible for thousands of inoccent people being killed

Most of the blogs I frequented last year I no longer go to. As much as the mainstream progressive blogs want to deny it, they do smack of elitism and white privilege at times. I especially started to notice it when they were ready to impeach PBO before he even got sworn in because he wouldn't jump to it and deal with their pet concerns right. this. minute. And they've really shown their true colors (no pun intended) since January 20. I seriously doubt if Hillary was president the bloggers would be sweating her this much. Double standard, much?

I linked here first from DKos as well. I loved TPM, but you are so right they became staid, basically when they changed their reply format. There were good discussions prior to that. I like HuffPo, just to know what is in the news, they have a nice spectrum of coverage, with the living/style/sports AND politics.

But for political discussion JJP is just about it!

Some are the usual subjects that ooze disdain for ANY pop artist. A lot of them are full of it, and are a bunch of no-talent hacks that are more famous for being famous. I get it. But I submit that most of them are such posers.

You mean one of these types:

"I'm just so hip and cool that I only listen to native folk music from Uzbekistan. All other music is just mediocre pablum for the unwashed masses."

or (my personal favorite)

"I threw out my TV years ago. It's all garbage that rots your brain, pick up a book instead."

Like being progressive and enjoying pop culture are mutually exclusive. People like that annoy the hell out of me with their pretentiousness.

I started following blogs during the primaries last year. Started off at Huffington Post, then branched out to Daily Kos and Talking Points Memo. Huff Post started to get more and more sensationalist, and TPM kinda got stale after the election, so I spent most of my time browsing Daily Kos.

Kossacks like to say how progressive they are, but I found out that many there have their own pet causes, and if President Obama didn't address their concerns right then and there, they were quick to call him a sell-out, no better than Bush, etc. I noticed this when the whole thing with FISA broke out. They turned against him with a quickness.

And don't even get started on DOMA and DADT, two things Bill Clinton signed into law. Many gays love the Clintons, but are suspicious of Barack Obama because he hasn't overturned those two laws, even though he cannot overstep his Constitutional duties.

Needless to say, I don't lurk at Daily Kos as much as I used to. Oh, well, at least Daily Kos led me here to Jack & Jill Politics.

Yeah, I thought you knew that was the Andrae Crouch Singers performing. I read somewhere that Crouch met with MJ a few weeks before his death, and that MJ accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

I know what you mean. One in particular blog that has been my home for 5 years, I just pulled away from. Many are not very compassionate and I do not think all that bright because culture and being a progressive go hand and hand. And Michael Jackson was Progressive – he cared for his fellow beings on earth and acted on it in song and giving. I am not saying he was a saint, but I am saying he did not deserve the contempt that some of them spewed.

It opened my eyes to where I will spend my hits.

Oh, nobody told me those were the ACTUAL Andrae Crouch singers performing today! WHEW! No wonder they had me bout to have a revival at work. I saw a pic of the Minister there too, he was embracing Reb (that's Farrakhan and Sharpton for those who dont know).
