My heart was FULL when I saw his daughter, and when I saw how her uncles and aunts comforted them. That IS family, and I don't care what the damned “blood” says. Doesn't matter.

I am done with media talking about “the kids.” He was their FATHER and should be referred to as such. They should be referred to as his daughter and sons. Period.

Just as when Malia and Sasha saw their Dad on screen during the convention, and you could just tell that for that moment, the only people in the room were the daughters, Michelle and Barack? I'm sure like me and countless others MJ left an indelible mark on
some of the happiest and most important moments in your life. “Off
the Wall” was the first record I bought (with my allowance). The
first song I slow dragged to (remember when we called it tgat?) was
“She's Out of My Life”. He was my first crush. I went to bed
everynight lusting at that poster of him in the tan leather jacket at
a time when I didn't know what I was feeling was lust. I have the
sweetest memories of waking-up every Saturday morning to my mother's
grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and yoohoos (my favorite) and the
Jackson 5 cartoon. The only time you wouldn't find me and my brother
fighting was when we were dancing for our parents to a Jackson 5
song. To this day, I defy anyone older than 30 who doesn't say,
“heeey” when “I Wanna Rock with You” comes on or doesn't jump up when
they hear the FIRST chord of “I Want You Back”. And who doesn't still
remember the exact place they were and how the felt when he took over
at Motown 25. MJ and The Jackson 5 provided the soundtrack for our
childhood. It's taken me 2 weeks to reconcile my feelings for the
artist that made me love music and gave many happy memories and the
troubled person he became, but I'm there now. Of course you're going
to cry, and I'm crying with you.

no it isn't. If the child wants to say goodbye in public– doesn't matter if the child is 5 years old . . . allow the child to say goodbye in public. Especially if it is around the death of a parent.
