So Mariah Carey has a song/video called "Obsessed where Mariah played a character that was supposed to be Eminem.
Now Eminem has released a track on YouTube in response to Mariah Warning Feat Mariah Carey The track actually features recording of Mariah from, I'm assuming, when Eminem and Mariah was together.
All I could say was OMG!!! Eminem pulled no punches ya'll. DAMN!!!
Sepia
Not impressed. Besides, Feminem's pretty much proving her point. He has tapes and photos? Yeah, he's obssessed alright. YAWN.
OH that was sick aaaaand he isn't fully putting it all out there.
Nick, bless his heart is out of his league. Mariah is a mess.
lamh32
Girl, I know. On the one hand, I feel bad for Mariah, cause Eminem is using some harsh language. On the other hand, I gotta admit, the beat was sick, and his flow was sicker, I don't think I've heard Eminem this animated since his "Slim Shady" days.
Mariah may want to think twice bout this one ya'll. But damn, I liked her song too.
Plantsmantx
But...he's getting back at her by boasting that he only...once, and then he prematurely...?
lamh32
Man look like I missed alot. Missed the "Beer summit"...meh. Missed all the bitchin' and moaning from the msm...meh. Missed the black dude disgracing hisself for the white man...meh.
I was too busy watching BBC America's Torchwood:Children of Earth miniseries on my TIVO. It was DAMN GOOD TOO!!!
Lisa_J
I was doing the same thing last night. Torchwood made me cry and it has never done that before.
Micheline
Does anybody thinks the title to this article is rather funky:
"Obama more bartender than mediator at beer summit"
Val
Micheline - it is all good. These poor people have themselves all twisted up about our wonderful, intelligent, and brilliant President. They can't help but to hate on the brotha for his skills.
You should be very sympathetic and understanding. After all, In a few short years whites will be a minority in this country and that is a scary prospect. All those "unknown" factors . . . will we enslave them for 200+ years ? Will they actually have to compete based on merit and not the color of their skin? These are legitimate concerns. It certainly doesn't help that most Americans (including whites) actually want a fair and free society. It doesn't help that over the last 2+ years we are able to see just how hard these groups have been pushing back against any signs of inequality. That puts a huge dent in the works of folk who want to keep folks separated based on background, culture, financial status, race etc. It's just isn't fair to folks like the author of that piece.
The age of the internet proved not just to the United States but to the whole world that the GOP leadership . . . well they aren't too bright. Don't even think about the folks that remain in the republican party (i.e birthers, tea baggers, folks who are in a perpetual state of self denial etc.). . . based on their behavior it is fair to say that most are certifiable nut jobs. That is very difficult to deal with. Hey can you imagine what it is like for the public to actually find out that folks like Judge Sotomayor, the President, First Lady Michelle etc. contrary to what was said in the past, shows just how brilliant minorities are and the fact that they can add their past experiences to further enhance their judgment is a valuable asset that only serves to make our country stronger? Oh the travesty to find out that diversity is in fact a beautiful thing.
Sadly that has left some feeling a little lost and they are searching for an identity. So you get the Glen Becks, the Limpballs etc. who are now talking about a white "culture". . . you have republican leaders trying to pass laws around having the president show his birth certificate to prove that no one that smart could actually BE an American much less an American leader . . . you have these same leaders reduced to telling people that quality affordable healthcare equals rationing, serves a blow to the poor insurance companies with that pesky "competition" and all, and the government wants to kill all the old and young people in the U.S.
And the notion that the most powerful man in the world who earned his law degree from Harvard in 1991, where he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, returned to Chicago to practice as a civil rights lawyer and teach constitutional law served in the Illinois State Senate for eight years and in 2004, he became the third African American since Reconstruction to be elected to the U.S. Senate and who is now the President of the United States of America is somehow just a "bartender" is just plain stupid.
I imagine it was difficult for Obama to do any mediating with his foot still stuck in his mouth. He did make a good “Bartender-In-Chief” though, IMO. Obama’s problem is that he keeps coming to the aid of black racists like Wright and Gates. Hopefully, Obama and Gates read Sgt. Lashley's letter, and paid attention to what Cambridge police officer Kelly King had said. Lashley and King are now called “Uncle Tom” by the Democrat party’s ‘House Negroes’ (I know…I know, they ‘ThInK’ they are “Field Negroes,” but the facts reflect just the opposite).
Val
Karmi - regarding Sgt Lashley's letter . . . Crowley threw Lashley under the bus. First he had no idea what the media was talking about and then it was . . . I never gave anything to the President and anything Lashley says, does or writes is on him. HAH. I know Lashley's got all kinds of bruises and skid marks on his behind. but hey . . . I ain't mad at Crowley. In fact, I would say Lashley got exactly what he deserved.
Regarding the bartender label .. well that is just stupid. But I understand that you people need desperately to hold on to something. So carry on.
When Obama said the Cambridge police acted stupidly it had nothing to do with race or hating cops, it has everything to do with his personal knowledge of Dr. Gates as a man who wouldn't do anything so provocative as to warrant a 'legitimate" arrest, especially in his own home.

Why is MSNBC Allowing Matthews to Repeat "Deathers" Rhetoric as Maddow Debunks Him on the Same Day? By Heather Thursday Jul 30, 2009 10:00am
Why is Chris Matthews carrying water for the "deathers" -- as Rachel Maddow aptly called them on her show -- and conflating end of life counseling with abortion, and something to fear, while his network has allowed Maddow to do a thorough debunking of both those talking points and where they came from?
Matthews went so far as to conflate end-of-life counseling with the government paying for abortions, and called them both "social policy". So Chris, are you now trying to find a nice way to call the President a "socialist" without coming right out and saying so? And why is it something to be afraid of if someone under the age of 65 is allowed to get some help with making a living will?
Matthews: It's a provision that allows you to get counseling every five years or so. I wonder what the hell this provision's doing in a bill that's aimed at people who are younger. It's not Medicare recipiants, people over sixty five. Why do we want to be visited every five years by somebody to talk about how you want to die? I think it's crazy this in in there, but your thoughts.
Romano: But it's not in there. I mean basically...
Matthews: It is in there!! (crosstalk) It's in the bill, in the Dingel bill..
Romano: Chris, first of all, it's an extension of a 1999 bill that was enacted during the Bush administration and it's a self determination and a patients' rights bill, and all it really says is that Medicare will pay if somebody wants to go and have a consultation. It doesn't sa you have to have a consultation...
Matthews: It's not about Medicare Lois. You already have that in Medicare. This is about people under sixty five, younger people. This is not about Medicare, we've got it in Medicare coverage. I'm not saying that. This is about a health care bill to help people in their middle years and their younger years. Why would you have this conversation with them?
Uhhhh..Chris, because maybe people under age 65 who are ill might want access to this sort of counseling? Matthews goes on to fear monger about the counseling and compare it to something that goes on in...gasp..Europe.
Matthews: I just have a sense this is put in by a lobbyist who wanted this in for hospice care. Somebody pushed this in there. It's the kind of social policy dynamite that sounds like Denmark or Scandanavia, and it's that kind of mind set that drives a lot of moderates and conservatives crazy.
Politico's Jonathan Martin does his best to continue Matthews fear mongering. Nice job with helping out the likes of Virginia Foxx there Martin. Matthews gets in a shot at the "lefties" and then does this bit or mental acrobatics:
Matthews: I think it's like the abortion issue that's been jammed into this thing, there shouldn't, we have the Hyde amendment Lois that says the government will not pay for abortion. People were talking about putting that into the bill here. Pro-choice that want the government to pay for abortions. There's a lot of social policy being jammed at us on what is essentially a financing issue.
I've got news for you, Chris. This doesn't drive moderates crazy. It drives crazy people to be even more crazy, and you're not helping the situation with this kind of talk.
Thankfully Rachel Maddow added some sanity to the network's coverage for the day, and reminded everyone just where this "deathers" rhetoric came from. Video below the fold.
Matthews and anothers jump on anything to pump their viewership. There are real "Deathers" scenarios unfolding in plain view each and every day. Worldwide preparations are underway to address the swine flu pandemic. FEMA and the CDC are accumulating body bags. Cases of swine flu are constantly rising and all he can focus on is a repug talking point.
caribgirl
he must have gotten lots of emails about it because he covered it on his show today. He had this right-wing radio host who was all scary then he had the democratic congressman who added it to the bill. The congressman was very good in debunking the claim and explaining exactly how the program would work when implemented. He was very passionate about the issue, said it was a bipartisan measure. In the end Chris got him to explain how a measure like this would have helped the Terry Schiavo case. All in all I think he did a good job making up for his weird take on it lastnight.

Anyone else see this? Where the Dems are threatening to take Baccus' chair from him? I hope they do. It is insane that someone who repressents less than 0.3% of the US population has so much power to determine healthcare for millions.
"In an apparent warning to Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.), some liberal Democrats have suggested a secret-ballot vote every two years on whether or not to strip committee chairmen of their gavels.
Baucus, who is more conservative than most of the Democratic Conference, has frustrated many of his liberal colleagues by negotiating for weeks with Republicans over healthcare reform without producing a bill or even much detail about the policies he is considering.
“Every two years the caucus could have a secret ballot on whether a chairman should continue, yes or no,” said Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), the chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee. “If the ‘no’s win, [the chairman’s] out."

White House makes CEOs pay for lunch
Four of the most powerful business leaders in America arrived at the White House one day last month for lunch with President Barack Obama, sitting down in his private dining room just steps from the Oval Office.
But even for powerful CEOs, there’s no such thing as a free lunch: White House staffers collected credit card numbers for each executive and carefully billed them for the cost of the meal with the president.
The White House defended the unusual move as a way to avoid conflicts of interest. But the Bush administration didn’t charge presidential guests for meals, one former official said, and at least one etiquette expert found the whole thing unseemly – suggesting it was a serious breach of protocol. Found Lashley's letter.
Lashley's Letter To Crowley
Dear Jim,
Would you be so kind as to mention the following to Mr. Gates and President Obama during your meeting with them:
One of the major problems stemming from the events of July 16 is that I, now known as 'the black Sergeant', have had my image plastered all over the Internet, television and newspapers. Subsequently, I have also become known, at least to some, as an 'Uncle Tom.'
I'm forced to ponder the notion that as a result of speaking the truth and coming to the defense of a friend and collegue, who just happens to be white, that I have somehow betrayed my heritage.
Please convey my concerns to the President that Mr. Gates' actions may have caused grave and potentially irreparable harm to the struggle for racial harmony in this country and perhaps throughout the world.
In closing, I would simply like to ask that Mr. Gates deeply reflect on the events that have unfolded since July 16 and ask himself the following questions:
'What can I do to help heal the rift caused by some of my actions?; What responsibility do I bear for what occurred on July 16, 2009? Is there anything I can do to mitigate the damage done to the reputations of two respected Police Officers?'
as a result blogs have been posting stuff like this. . .http://hotair.com/archives/2009/07/30/wow-black-cop-in-gates-arrest-sends-letter-to-obama-about-being-called-an-uncle-tom/
read some of the comments.
rikyrah
Nigger, Please.
mjohnso27
EPIC FAIL!
What an @ss! How about you ask your colleague why he betrayed the principles of the U.S. Constitution by falsely arresting a man for daring to "talk back" to a thin skinned police officer on a power trip.
Is he trying to get his own platform as "Leon the Lilly-Livered Loser"?
MsKitty
I'm forced to ponder the notion that as a result of speaking the truth and coming to the defense of a friend and collegue, who just happens to be white, that I have somehow betrayed my heritage.

Leon Lashley Looney the Coonery, you need to HEED your own advice to Professor Gates, and REFLECT on why your lips are so sore from sucking Crowley the Coward's ass.
whiterosebuddy
What a god awful pathetic whiny letter. You stood with blue Lashley!! Stay blue! How pitiful that you had the nerve to give your'blue' comrade this type of letter as if HE someHOW can redeem your blackness? Puhleeze...you should of listened to your grandma and all them other black relatives in your family that are giving you the beat down...you forgot you black first...stick with blue...cause we ain't taking you 'tom' self back.
We SEE you!!
angee_is_mad
and he sent a copy to CNN. His punkazz is trying intimidate Obama and Gates into saying that Gates was wrong and crowley was right. He's trying to keep the white folks amp and create another backlash and hope that Gates will apologize. Wonder how long he and crowley will appear on faux news. I've already told everyone that crowley is going to become the mark furman of the 21st century. He will become a low enforcement pundit on the rightwing shows.
whiterosebuddy
O my GOD!! This imbecile is so stoooopid that he actually sent a copy to CNN? Lord, he is a disgrace to his race, and his family is SHAMED.
He is not intimidating anyone..he is just looking like a butthole/KingFish buffoon.
I hope he does keepit up...this will be the necessary catalyst for Gates to sue. To demonstrate that they did inDEED violate his civil rights and sue the entire city and police union for supporting violations of constitutional rights.
angee_is_mad
Guess who was the 1st to read it to the public? Lou (racist) Dobbs. He was as giddy as a schoolgirl and felt so moved by the power and emotion of poor lashley's words.

The MSM is gonna be on this like white on rice. Dobbs sounded orgasmic as he read the letter after Crowley's presser.
Val
"The MSM is gonna be on this like white on rice."
maybe not. they won't get enough juice out of that one. Crowley said he has no idea what that is about and basically has nothing to do with him. lol
If the media pushes too hard and finds Crowley was aware of this letter well . . that would make him a liar right? so . . . it won't get too far.
Val
Richard Wolfe did a good job subbing for KO tonight.
Lisa M
He was brutal on Palin. He didn't even try to hide his complete and utter contempt for her.
you bought up a subject the other day re the birthers...it was about an adopted child and sealed records as I recall. It stuck with me because I have known people who gave up children for adoption and children who were adopted. One friend was adopted and he had no desire to know who is blood parents were, he felt his parents were the ones who adopted him and raised him with much love. So I wonder if the birther nuts have even considered such circumstances...I would like to see a copy of their bill.
Town
The only thing that matters to them is Obama being forced from the White House.
Angelar
I agree with you, I know these people are Obama haters. But I want to raise the points you made about "sealed records for adoptees." Did they make a provision for that? In other words have they covered "unintended consequences?" I will get a copy of the bill to see what it says.
Town
Of course they haven't thought of adoptees, because this bill is Obama-centric and everyone knows it. The next white president could be born in Lichtenstein and NONE of the birthers will fix their lips to say jack about it.
Angelar
town...thanks, and you are preaching to the choir
Angelar
Oh my god, that is too funny.

"Joe Medicine Crow to receive Presidential Medal of Freedom
Finally, the kind of celebrity we can get behind. Crow War Chief Joe Medicine Crow, who is 95, will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom – the nation’s highest civilian honor - from President Obama in just a couple of weeks.
Medicine Crow, who wore war paint under his World War II uniform, and stole horses from a Nazi camp while singing Crow battle songs, already holds a Bronze Star and the French Legion of Honor, and has been nominated for the Congressional Gold Medal. He became the first in his tribe to receive a master’s degree, and is its last surviving war chief.
Montana Sen. Jon Tester and Wyoming’s Alan Simpson nominated him for the medal. “Anyone who’s had the honor of meeting Joe knows he’s an American hero,” Tester says. “Joe earned the Presidential Medal of Freedom a long time ago. His lifetime of hard work, his devotion to the Crow Tribe and his dedication to this country will always be remembered.”
Medicine Crow will receive the medal from a relative. Obama became an honorary mem-ber of the tribe while campaigning in Montana."
mjohnso27
Why am I still crying over events like this six months into Obama's presidency? Below is the line in the article that started the waterworks for me.
"Medicine Crow will receive the medal from a relative. Obama became an honorary member of the tribe while campaigning in Montana."
No matter what happens during the next 3.5 - 7.5 years, we've got to remember that we elected a wise and honorable man whom we can trust to address historical injustices and restore honor to our institutions. YES we did!
Angelar
ok, now you got me bawling.
I'm going to my tribal pow wow in two weeks, this will be one of the best. I might even do a tribal dance. If I dance, I'll post pics.
mjohnso27
Please do, I so look forward to seeing them!
As an aside, the video from Obama's adoption into the Crow Nation was one of my favorite from the election. http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/05/19/o... You could just see how moved Obama the man, and Obama the boy, was to be introduced as "Obama Black Eagle" when he was was escorted onto stage by his new parents, Hartford and Mary Black Eagle and given the name “One Who Helps People Throughout the Land.” It is easy to forget just how bittersweet it must be for him to have acheived so much after losing all of the elders in his life.
Angelar
thanks for that memory
mjohnso27
Now that's the type of guy I'd want to have a beer with! Can you imagine how kick-@ss his stories would be?

Gates released his statement but I can't find it on the web yet.
I didn't like Gates before, and I don't like him now. It doesn't change however how racist the "system" (police and media) is.
I had the pleasure of taking a law class (Critical Race Theory) with Skip's nephew Nathaniel Gates. Nathaniel Gates said the first day of class that his politics were different than his uncles. At the back of MANY of Gates' writings is a "pull yourself up from your bootstraps"/ indictment of the poor mentality, IMHO. I haven't read anything he has written since 2000 though.
I'll be honest and say I could care less. I would, however, like him to see how many of the people he has disagreed with intellectually in race studies have been defending him LOUDLY.
whiterosebuddy
His daughter Elizabeth doesn't share his politics either. On the MorningShow she said ''my father believes.....I don't"

Here's what I'll be doing next Tuesday, August 4 in Minneapolis!
Hi all,
What a tremendous BBQ we had last week! Over 1,100 people came to speak out for health insurance reform. Mayor Rybak gave a fantastic speech and hundreds of people signed up to volunteer.
But, if you think the BBQ was fun, wait until you come to celebrate Barack Obama's birthday!
We will be having a phone bank on Tuesday, August 4th to celebrate President Obama's 48th birthday! Everyone who comes will be asked to make 48 calls in support of health insurance reform.
The phone bank will go from 5:30-8pm. Cake will be served at 6:30pm.
Come celebrate!!!
Jenn
Val
Good for you. I will check in my area to see if anything similar is going on here. Haven't done phonebanking since the elections.

Joan Walsh is a trip! LMAO!
Ever since she said "that's mighty white of you Liz" I look at her and see a afro on her head.
mjohnso27
Did you hear her say that Rush called her "Joan the Magic Honkey" today? LOL! Can someone please force the last Belushi brother back into rehab befor ehe combusts while on air? Just sayin....
Seriously though we need to make some calls and ask our white friends (the ones that "get it") and ask them to speak up and talk about the racism they see. Too many want to support us. I say let us support YOU. Speak up!
She is getting back SO MANY cool points with me.
Lisa M
She'll need it. She lost a whole bunch during the primary.
Justice58
LMAO!
itgurl_29

Miranda
She said the only reason she can think Limbaugh and Beck have been this crazy is because they are secretly being paid by the DNC...LMAO! They're agent provocateurs, working covert ops to destroy the republican party from within.
whiterosebuddy
She also said they are using the age old racial divide to create divisiveness so that we can not get policies that address our common humanity, cause racists are too busy trying to ensure black/hispanics don't get nothing, even if they are biting off their noses to spite their face in the process.
She was on it. The Southern strategy is alive and well.

Spin, spin, spin, spin....
In the 30 seconds your pool was out there, Sgt. Crowley was doing most of the talking. Gates appeared to be leaning in, listening intently. At one point, POTUS laughed heartily.
Let that be a lesson, kids: ALWAYS portray the white guy as the authority figure in charge.
rikyrah
they aren't fooling anyone.
let me be the snob that I can be. You have the first Black President of the Harvard Law Review sitting with the first Black PhD from Cambridge...what the hell do they remotely believe Crowley has to bring to a conversation with those two?
Val
that wasn't how it was discussed when we watched it happen. Gates approached Crowley in the whitehouse, introduced himself and his family, Crowley introduced his. While drinking beer it was said multiple times on different news channel BOTH men were carrying on a conversation. so . . . spin spin spin is right.
itgurl_29
Ok, so when is this guy gonna get his for filing a false police report. I mean, he committed a crime and yet he is being heralded as some kind of hero. He lied!
Man, Obama really should have kept his mouth shut on this one. He was right that the arrest was stupid, but the minute he said that, Crowley became the victim and the hero. Then he invites them to the White House and the day after that all the facts start to come out and it shows Crowley was guilty as hell.
I hope Gates still sues the city.
Tiah
Gates is not going to sue he most likely wants to move on. While Crowley hopes his victim act keeps the lid closed in the media about the false police report. No one will learn anything from this issue expect Cops can get away with lying. But Karma will get Mr. Crowley in the end just wait and watch...
itgurl_29
Yes, I believe in karma. It's amazing that the false report info is all over the internet, yet you don't here a peep about it in the MSM. The discrepancy between the internet and the MSM with this story is almost as bad as the debut of Sarah Palin, where all the MSM talked about was moose burgers and hockey and and everyone on the internet knew about her pregnant daughter and the ethics issues and her bridge to nowhere problems.
Tiah
It's amazing how the media is called left wing by the rabbit right...Yet, the MSM pick and choose the stories they want to cover from the internet. One thing is for sure though all saint Sarah secrets is on the web for millions and I mean millions to see. So, the media can try all they want to hid the truth like with Mr. Crowley but the truth can be found on the web and they can't stop it.
Val
Why is Joe Jackson on tv talking about Michael's "other" son.
yes. He was at the funeral. Someone from JJP showed the pictures of the guy after Michael"s service but I didn't believe it and said . . .he didn't look like him. Some else said he was the son of another of the Jackson brothers.
it is funny that they (the person who posted it to JJP) was right.
lamh32
that was me Val, but I forgive ya! LOL.
Still unless someone says otherwise we gotta believe ole Joe. Why would he lie? If true, this boy is just another mouth to feed.

Yes, and he has dark skin. He's his biological son according to Joe.
Val
eclecticbrotha -- how is dark skin an indicator to confirm paternity? :-)
eclecticbrotha
LMAO it "proves" its his biological son.
OK, that was snark. Actually, it doesn't really prove anything. One of the biggest gripes about Michael right after his death was he was ashamed of his blackness that he made sure he chose to inseminate his wife with the sperm of a white donor. I guess you weren't around when JJPers were going at it about that and other issues. I was alluding to that.
Val
lol. I read you statement and fell out. Immediately thought of Judge Mablean Ephriam. hah

What did you learn, Crowley? Next time, do your fucking job and follow the proper protocol without prejudice. Reflect, yeah, you damn skippy you betta reflect.
He came off as calm, open, powerful, but not a bully. Not a bad showing for himself, however the true test is IF or WHEN he shows up on Fox News and what he says with those a-holes.

The true test will be when he has to officially answer of falsifying that report. That is, if he ever does have to answer.
You are so right. He was in control quite possibly because no questioned him or his intentions. They did say the talked only about the future. If pushed, the pig will come out.
Val
I was pleasantly surprised. I take back my earlier statements.

And once again, PBO takes a situation, rises above the talking heads and turns chicken shit into chicken salad. Once again, the idiots on talk radio and the numbnuts like Klannity and Limbarf are shown how, they just arent in his league. They thought they had a wedge issue for the independent caucasion voter.....and they dont. So they can continue on with pandering to the bitter birthers whose numbers are dwindling each and everyday. Heh..........checkmate BITCHES!
If you ask me, now that it's pretty much etched in stone Sotomayor will be going to the supreme court, guys like Buchanan, Beck, and Limbaugh are scared.
As I said before, the worst feeling in the world has to be living long enough to see yourself become irrelevant.
Val
I am curious.
Glenn Beck said the President has a deep seated hatred for the "white culture"
Jello. Unchallenged political, economic, legal, and military domination. Letting your pet eat off your plate, but not sharing your food with the homeless. The "bump it."

But remember after Obama won the election white people were saying that he is not just black he is also white. It's funny how quick they disowned him.
Races don't have culture, nationalities do. A black American doesn't have the same culture as a black Jamaican
malletgirl02
He is being disowned, by the very same people who were making that comment.

.Races don't have culture, nationalities do. A black American doesn't have the same culture as a black Jamaican ------------ I agree.I grew up on the southside of Chicago , my mothers heritage is from Belize and my father is from Oklahoma. The culture of Chicago is a lot different from Tulsa and Belize is a whole different story.I would say there is no black culture in the sense we all think and believe the same way.The only thing POC have in common throughout the world is the darker you are more than likely you end up with the short end of the stick.
Miranda
