wow i'm watching this loon orly taitz on colbert, and she's seriously batshit; even worse than i imagined. she's up there talking about how obama's SSN was issued in CT and belongs to a 119 year old man. stephen's been hilarious on the birther nonsense tonight, and good on the gates thing too (unlike his pal jon).

i knew she was crazy from reading about her, but this was just something else. i love stephen response to the SSN craziness, "omg obama's a connecticut vampire!" she also threw in the obligatory obama=hitler=stalin rambling, and admitted that there's nothing that could ever "prove" his eligibility to her, because her criteria are completely made up and have nothing to do with any legal definitions of anything. most of the show was about the birther stuff, with stephen one upping WND's reward for witness' of obama's birth by demanding a witness statement from any of the sperm that were present at obama's conception. hilarious stuff; stephen was in fine form.

aka: Barrack Obama - just because you have a birth certificate doesn't mean you are who you say you are This just in (again) from the Candlenut state:
Hawaii again declares Obama birth certificate real
By JAYMES SONG (AP) – 1 hour ago
HONOLULU — State officials in Hawaii on Monday said they have once again checked and confirmed that President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen, and therefore meets a key constitutional requirement for being president.
Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said she hoped to end lingering rumors about Obama's birthplace.
"I ... have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen," she said in a brief statement. "I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago."
Fukino issued a similar press release Oct. 31, but was prompted to speak out again because of the renewed attention on Obama's beginnings. Hawaii's Health Department has been flooded in recent weeks with questions from individuals and several national TV news networks asking for proof that Obama was indeed born in Hawaii.
"They just keep asking over and over and over again," Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo said.
The Constitution states that a person must be a "natural-born citizen" to be eligible for the presidency. Birthers contend that Obama's birth certificate is a fake, and many say he was actually born in Kenya, his father's homeland. They've challenged his citizenship in court.
Well, actually the Constitution states that:
No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President." ~ [Section 1, Article Two]
Bold emphasis above mine. I'm not gonna nitpick details here but it seems to me that what the Constitution actually says is that anyone eligible to the Office of President must be either one of two things (or, a combination of both).
1 - "a natural born Citizen"
"or"
2- "a Citizen of the United States"
Presumably being a natural born Citizen of the United States (although the Constitution doesn't specifically state that one must be a natural born citizen of the United States) would combine the best of both eligibility requirements outlined above and therefore qualify one for the office.
Yes?
And don't get me going on what is "real" and what is "natrually real" and so on because that is a whole different thing altogether.
But, nevermind that. What concerns me in all this is not whether or not Barrack Obama is a natural born citizen or a US citizen. I'm convinced he is both. What worries me is that Barrack Obama is not really Barrack Obama!
Look: How do we know that Barrack Obama is really who he says he is? What if Barrack Obama's real name were Tyrone Goldfarb? And what if Tyrone Goldfarb and his mother Ann whose real name - lets just say - was Cindy. Cindy Goldfarb (see photo above circa 1963). How do we know that Cindy Goldfarb, somehow, didn't steal an entire new identity for herself and her son Tyrone sometime back in the early 1960's. Well? It's not impossible you know (identity theft is an old caper). And how'd you like to try to get elected president of the United States with a name like Tyrone Goldfarb!
Obviously there are still more questions that need to be answered with respect to Barrack Obama's... or Tyrone Goldfarb's... or whatever his name is... true identity.
Questions like the whereabouts of Mr. Goldfarb. And what the hell happened to the real Barrack Obama whose identity Tyrone Goldfarb has assumed? It's a big ocean out there, Dano. The ocean holds many secrets.
One day those secrets may come heaving ashore - perhaps in Alaska - where only dead fish stink up the merciless rushing flow and firewood blooms among the frostweed - or whatever it is that goes on up there - and we are reminded that a mother's nature hides many victories.

Obama Fields Tough Questions on Health Care Reform at AARP Tele-Town Hall President assures AARP members: no cuts in Medicare benefits By: Elizabeth Agnvall | Source: AARP Bulletin Today | July 28, 2009
President Obama again took his appeal for health care reform directly to the American people today, this time at a telephone town hall meeting at AARP’s Washington headquarters where he answered questions from older men and women concerned about how proposed changes to the current system would affect them.
While the concerns and confusion over reforms were real and palpable, callers from across the country were polite, respectful.
“Nobody’s trying to change what does work in the system,” Obama told the estimated 180,000 listeners. “We are trying to change what doesn’t work in the system.”
‘Nobody is talking about cutting Medicare benefits’
In the face of growing public skepticism and congressional delay, the president used his 75-minute town hall to answer recurring questions about rationing treatments, and the frequent charge that every five years government bureaucrats would visit each older American and counsel him or her about end-of-life options. Was America heading toward socialized medicine? Were we going to have a system like Canada’s? Will my Medicare benefits be cut?
“Nobody is talking about cutting Medicare benefits. I just want to make that absolutely clear,” he said emphatically.
Seated on a stool in front of a small studio audience, Obama appeared relaxed and confident, frequently using kitchen table analogies to explain knotty health care proposals and untangle some of the myths and misinformation widely circulating on the Internet.
Introducing Obama, AARP CEO A. Barry Rand said:
“There’s a lot of misinformation about health care reform—even on what AARP supports. This town hall is part of our ongoing effort to debunk myths and provide accurate information.”
He added: “I want to make it clear that AARP has not endorsed any of the bills currently being debated in the Congress. We continue to work with members of Congress on both sides of the aisle and with the administration to achieve meaningful health care reform.”
‘Nobody is going to be knocking on your door’
One caller, Mary from North Carolina, said she had heard rumors that government workers would visit people’s homes to ask them “how they wish to die.”
Obama seemed amused by the idea, pointing out that the government didn’t have enough employees to make millions of personal visits. “Nobody is going to be knocking on your door,” he reassured the audience.
Obama said the rumor could be linked to a measure in of one of the proposed bills that would cover consultations between doctors and patients, about hospice care, living wills and other discussions about people’s wishes on the kind of care they want at the end of their lives.
He referred to the recent death of his grandmother and the living will that gave her some control toward the end of her life.
“The problem right now is that most of us don’t give direction to our family members, so when we get really sick ... And then the doctor, who doesn’t know what you might have preferred, they’re making decisions, in consultation with your kids or your grandkids,” he said, adding that the provision was only a small part of one bill and could be removed if too many people objected.
Reminiscent of Medicare debate
Obama’s appeal to the 40 million AARP members highlights the importance of convincing older Americans of the need for health care reform, and the importance of dispelling persistent rumors that live online.
The president said that the current heated debate over health care reform is reminiscent of another huge change in American health care: Medicare.
“This week celebrates the anniversary of Medicare,” he said. “ And when you look at the Medicare debate, it is almost exactly the same as the debate we’re having right now. Everybody who was in favor of the status quo was trying to scare the American people saying that government is going to take over your health care, you won’t be able to choose your own doctor, they’re going to ration care, they’re going to tell you you can’t get this or that or the other …”
He added: “You know what, Medicare has been extraordinarily popular. It has worked. It has made people a lot healthier—given them security, and we can do the same this time.”
Earlier he had emphasized that reforms would not cut Medicare benefits but rather waste, duplications and insurance company subsidies that did not improve health.
A good deal
One caller asked if health reforms “were so great,” why don’t members of Congress have to participate?
“Frankly if we do this right, all we are actually doing is giving the American people the same options that members of the Congress have. They have a bunch of different plans to select from, and if they have a good deal, why shouldn’t you?” he said to applause.
Addressing the widespread concern that reforms would move the country toward socialized medicine, Obama assured the audience that they would not.
“A lot of people have heard this phrase ‘socialized medicine,’ ” he said. “And they say, ‘We don’t want government-run health care. We don’t want a Canadian-style plan.’ Nobody is talking about that. We’re saying, let’s give you a choice.”
Smiling, he continued, “I got a letter from a woman the other day. She said, ‘I don’t want government-run health care. I don’t want socialized medicine. And don’t touch my Medicare.” As the audience laughed, he added: “I wanted to say, that’s what Medicare is. It’s a government-run health care plan that people are very happy with.”
My husband will move over to medicare in the next year as he turns 65...on the way to this transition from private health insurance he has been talking to his older buddies and every one of them have said...not a big deal...not to be concerned...your health care will be as good if not better.

Hat tip to Word.
I listened to this NPR AmericanMomentforBlackMales, and it was very fascinating. The broad spectrum of views of black men on the Gates issue and how it impacts them was very interesting, as you have men who were incarcerated, educated, southern, and those who refuse to shutup when stopped.

Well, gotta pay for healthcare somehow, right? Guess cutting the government agency that's, you know, in the middle of a war makes perfect sense, right?
Hope it's worth it.....
morphus
Of course, it makes perfect sense to cut a government agency that never can pass an audit and can not explain how it LOST $2.3 Trillion. And, when was the last time that Congress declared war?
Val
D - Nobody "ordered" anything. It was a proposal presented by Gates who is a Republican. There is plenty of money that is spent unnecessarily in every area including the military. Defense Secretary Gates himself said there was room to cut down on wasteful spending. ************************************************************************* Mr. Gates's proposed baseline 2010 Defense Department budget of $534 billion is up 4% from last year. But it signals a major departure from business as usual at the Pentagon, with a heavy emphasis on overhauling a procurement process that he and congressional leaders have decried as being too heavily influenced by powerful contractors.
The new budget halts new orders of F-22 fighter jets and allocates billions of dollars in new funding for such low-tech weapons as the unmanned drones being used to hunt insurgents in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The Pentagon chief said his plan represents "one of those rare chances to match virtue to necessity; to critically and ruthlessly separate appetites from real requirements," and that politics played no role in his analysis. "There's no doubt a lot of these decisions will be controversial," he said, adding that he hoped lawmakers would rise above "parochial interests http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123903026250593...
Aside from all that . . . I thought you and your cohorts were pushing fiscal responsibility? Ya'll need to make up your minds.
If they're being told as part of the QDR that they need to cut funding, and the person doing the telling is the Secretary of Defense, that'd be an order, as he controls the money.
It just strikes me as really odd that Democrats always seem to think that DoD is this magical pot of money that can be cut to push their agenda.
Is there waste? Of course. But, let's view this in perspective: DoD is being asked-I'll walk with you for a minute-to cut 600 times what PBO asked the federal government to cut when he took office (100 million vs. 60 billion, if my math's right).
In the middle of a war?
Does that make any GOOD sense?
Val
"It just strikes me as really odd that Democrats always seem to think that DoD is this magical pot of money that can be cut to push their agenda."
We all know there is no magic pot of money unless you are referring to the taxpayers. . . I thought you and your Tea Party knew that and that was the purpose of your "movement"
Regarding the cuts --it signals a major departure from business as usual at the Pentagon, with a heavy emphasis on overhauling a procurement process that he and congressional leaders have decried as being too heavily influenced by powerful contractors.
Mr. Gates's proposed shake-up is expected to stoke debate about the importance of weapons-manufacturing jobs and appears to mark a turning point for an industry that enjoyed record business during the Bush administration.
Mr. Gates said Monday he planned to halt new purchases of the F-22 Raptor fighter jet from Lockheed Martin Corp. after delivery of 187 of the aircraft already ordered. He also said there would be no more orders for Boeing Co. C-17 transport planes beyond the 205 planned.
Mr. Gates said he decided to cancel the Finmeccanica's AgustaWestland program because costs doubled to more than $13 billion and the schedule slipped to six years overdue. Finmeccanica said in a statement that the move would have no impact on the company's financial guidance and is in no way related to the technical characteristics of the helicopter."
D - I thought you would be the strongest advocate for these cuts because it certainly represents fiscal responsibility. You can't have it both ways. Look at where he is looking to cut funding. . .you asked does it make sense when we are at war. My answer is a resounding yes. It makes perfect sense especially now. We need to control the budget.. . . wait. . . isn't that supposed to be your line?
Miranda
See, its stuff like this that got NO QUESTIONS from the right, that lead me to believe any protests about DoD cuts is just playing politics:
"The GAO said the Corps paid KBR $57 million in award fees -- slightly more than half the maximum allowed under the contract -- without regularly reviewing KBR's performance. Some documents showing how KBR was evaluated for its award fees were destroyed, the report said. In its response to the GAO findings, the Corps agreed that awards were given with little oversight, given the ongoing war." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/ar...
waste, fraud, flat out cheating and lying....I dont wanna hear what cant be cut at the DoD when this shit has been and still is going on.
Wonder what would've happened if we'd tried this line of thinking during, say, WWII.
Like I said, I just hope it's worth it.
We cut from the agency that fulfills a role of government, to fund something that's well outside the role of government.
Yeah, our priorities are in order.
Val
WWII = 1939 to 1945 = $288,000,000,000
what year is this -- 2009 . . . if we think about how much money that would be today it would equate to over 5 trillion dollars spent in under a 5 year span.
and you are okay with that? But yet you all piously get apoleptic fits over the prospect of spending 1.5 trillion for healthcare over a period of 10 years for the American people?
Certainly the GOP's priorities are in order.
One last thing . . . just curious but you said "We cut from the agency that fulfills a role of government, to fund something that's well outside the role of government."
What insurance do you and your family have? Is it private insurance or not??? If it is not private insurance, did you use said insurance when your lovely wife gave birth to your beautiful family or when you went in for your procedure a few weeks ago?
When we've spent more to fix the financial crisis than we did to fight WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, OEF and OIF COMBINED?
Yeah, someone should be asking if kicking out another trillion is the best thing to do right now.
And what happened to "pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship... in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty?" Isn't that the whole point of providing for the "common defense?"
Val
D - who forced us to fix the financial crisis?
Who? okay thank you for your honesty because you know selective memory does not work on JJP.
So we can both agree that circumstances dictated that we had no recourse but to clean up the mess and fix the system to ensure it is very difficult for even the biggest village idiot to get us into a mess of this magnitude anytime in the near future.
Besides D - we were not talking about "kicking out another trillion". Your post was about you the fact that Secretary Gates was looking for a way to SAVE money by looking at wasteful spending in the military budget. :-) I agree 100% with your final statement. What DID happen to"pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship... in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty?"
Why does the GOP not want the American people to have quality affordable healthcare in order to assure the survival and success of liberty? As you realized last week . . . if you are sick . . . you can't do sh*t. You can't function, you are in pain. Think about where you were and imagine MILLIONS of Americans who experience much worse everyday. over 46 million don't even have health insurance and millions more who have health insurance end up bankrupt because of rising cost.
You didn't answer my last question D. Do you and your family have private insurance or not?
My wife has her/the kids on hers at work, and I brought my own when I started on the campaign.
And no, it wasn't cheap...at all.
As I say to everyone who mentions the Republicans...yes-to take you back to the sandbox-they started it. But does that give the Dems to right to make it worse? No one's answered that yet.
We're talking about kicking out another trillion for something that's not the responsibility of our government, while at the same time cutting from an agency that fulfills a fundamental responsibility for government. And, my neoconservatism aside, I've got a slight problem with that.
Healthcare has nothing to do with ensuring liberty's survival or success. Liberty has been strong in this country for 233 years...and the government hasn't provided healthcare for ANY of them.
Val
"As I say to everyone who mentions the Republicans...yes-to take you back to the sandbox-they started it. lol
We were not going to the sandbox D (and I made no mention of Republicans) :-). I just wanted to know if you had a clear view from aaalllll the way up there on that fancy soap box of yours.
D as the head of your household. . if your finances are in the toilet (regardless of who put you in that situation) whose responsibility is it to fix it or are you okay with doing nothing. At the cost of doing nothing . . what happens to your household? I know I am over simplifying the issues but the core message is the same. We had to fix the mess. But we made plans to get that money put back into the system AND we are firming up the country's financial backbone by putting processes in place so that this won't happen again anytime soon.
You are stubbornly ignoring the facts around the military budget cuts. Do we need yet another airplane? Do we need to continue paying greedy contractors for costly products we aren't even using? Specific examples are provided in the story about Gates. It states -- " the Finmeccanica's AgustaWestland program is being cancelled because costs doubled to more than $13 billion and the schedule slipped to six years overdue. Canceling this contract would have no impact on the company's financial guidance and is in no way related to the technical characteristics of the helicopter.
??? I don't see the cause for your concern. . in fact you should be strongly advocating for this type of fiscal responsibility. Or are you saying if it is for the military it is okay to spend millions of the tax payers money on products and services we don't need, are priced ridiculously high, we don't use, or we realized have no real value in helping the cause . . just because it is under the military budget?
(I will pretend I didn't see your last two sentences and allow you to review those comments because I know you are aware that the govt provides healthcare to our seniors, our military and to themselves and their own families) .
Last - Ensuring quality affordable healthcare for all citizens should be one of the responsibilities for the goverment especially when the private industries have no interest in looking out for the American people. Citizens deserve the right to choose from a public or private option. Besides If government run healthcare is good enough for government officials and the military then it is good enough for the rest of the country. According to Kristol - government run military healthcare is the best in the nation. It's just that the American people don't deserve it.
I have no fancy soapbox...mine is actually kinda raggedy. Best thing about it is being able to watch the Fleet sail by, but I digress.
Do we need the F-22? Probably not at present; my concern there was with the loss of jobs at a time when we're not really hiring that much. And yeah, there's waste to be cut; look at the Army's Future Combat Systems program. Complete black hole, and now it's being canceled/dialed back a lot. Good on DoD for that; it's a cut that needed to be made.
There's a tradeoff we make for cutting these weapons systems back now, and that's the risk of having to restart-or in some cases, start-the production lines in a contingency. We initially rushed MRAP to production during the height of the Iraqi insurgency, and we lost a lot of servicemembers to rollovers. Why? Bad design; the vehicle was too top heavy.
What happens when we DO actually need a F-22 or DDG-100, or an ABM capability?
So I think it's better to build the stuff now and get it right, than to risk having to rush to production and get it wrong.
Val
D - universal healthcare is off the table. You know that. What is on the table is a public option in addition to a private option.
That is fair.
"What happens when we DO actually need a F-22 or DDG-100, or an ABM capability?"
They use one of their many other options that will provide the same results. Or God forbid we use diplomacy and actually get somewhere before we things escalates to that level.
Gates is saying we have what we need. He will continue to spend prudently where it is necessary but he will not use the tax payers money to buy more military "toys".
There are other options when it comes to the F-22.
There are AGING options to DDG-1000 (left a zero off), that will ultimately end up costing us more in maintenance than it will to build the new class of ships. And the LCS program-which could probably fill the gap-was rolled back as well.
There are NO other options to ABM defense...the Kinetic Energy Inteceptor/Airbore Laser programs-which were the alternatives to using Aegis/SM-3-have already been cut/cancelled, and the Aegis portion of the ABM program is being cut, although we know it works effectively.
Again, it's a question of priorities. We'll disagree, of course, but I don't think putting DoD on the chopping block first, in the middle of a war, makes any sense.
Not of course, that there's anything I can do about it, except complain to Webb/Nye (who'd probably get it) and Warner/Scott (who definitely won't).
Well there are a lot of wasteful defense programs.
Miranda
Has the GAO found what all that money paid out to KBR and other contractors was actually for yet? I know a year ago they still couldn't find what those billions were actually buying in terms of services OR goods. A damn shame.
Val
Did you all hear the current GOP spin on healthcare? The President's/Democratic healthcare plan will kill old people. The government will have someone knock on their doors to find out how they want to die.
You just can't make this sh*t up. And the folks at the root of this craziness is the GOP elected officials. It was the first thing covered on Rachel Maddow tonight.
Howard Dean hit the healthcare discussion hard tonight as well. He hit everything. Blue dog democrats, the Republicans, the Special interest groups, the insurance received by members of Congress, the Military system . . . all of it.
He did a great job.
Angelar
I heard it and so far it looks to me like the GOP is winning on not reforming health care or making sure it is so watered down in the end, all of Obama's energy and political capital may well be wasted.
Don't want to see that happen, but, by gauging the news and listening it is my gut feeling.
As for the Republicans, we know they only care about defeating the president and not what is good for the country.
Politics has mostly become a racket, has nothing to do with morals, ethics, statesmanship. If you study history the founding fathers never meant for politicians to make it a lifetime career to serve in the Senate or Congress...it was meant for locals to serve awhile, represent for a few years and then go home.
People like you and others who participate on this website are to be commended, you spend precious time reading and learning about the issues at hand. How else do you explain the Palin and Birthers of the landscape?

That is why I spend a lot of time talking to neighbors, folks I meet at the doctor's office, calling up my family, and in conversations with folks in the neighborhood where my hubby grew up and at church. It is important to have these discussions, to listen to their understanding of this healthcare initiative and then if they come up with something completely off the wall . . correct that misunderstanding.

Young Japanese Women Vie for a Once-Scorned Job
TOKYO — The women who pour drinks in Japan’s sleek gentlemen’s clubs were once shunned because their duties were considered immodest: lavishing adoring (albeit nonsexual) attention on men for a hefty fee. But with that line of work, called hostessing, among the most lucrative jobs available to women and with the country neck-deep in a recession, hostess positions are increasingly coveted, and hostesses themselves are gaining respectability and even acclaim. Japan’s worst recession since World War II is changing mores.
“More women from a diversity of backgrounds are looking for hostess work,” said Kentaro Miura, who helps manage seven clubs in Kabuki-cho, Tokyo’s glittering red-light district. “There is less resistance to becoming a hostess. In fact, it’s seen as a glamorous job.”
and how sad is that...young women having to make money by entertaining men..

This is so utterly ridiculous
Atlanta says it will rush to spend $30M in federal aid before deadline
Atlanta officials promised a desperate scramble during the next five months to spend millions in federal aid so the city isn’t forced to return as much as $30 million at year’s end that was supposed to go to its poorest residents.
What do they mean by RUSHING to spend $30M... rushing? WTF
Miranda
No one can figure out how officials could have possibly sat around and not gotten programs funded and/or put in place in the amount of time they've had these funds. They're blaming red tape and regulations - in other words, they wasted time and now time is running out. It wasn't a priority until the deadline approached to use it or lose it.

As the book has sold more than 57,000 copies to date - more than most Marvel or DC books - the answer is in the affirmative and our President's fist-bumping partner has a following all her own.

I know everybody's been saying this, but it can't be said enough:
CNN has a REAL problem when it comes to Lou Dobbs:
The left is trying to silence their opponents and their competitors in the public marketplace of ideas... One issue in which the ethnocentric issue groups have been trying to silence me is on the issue of illegal immigration. Many of those, if you will, have migrated to me here recently because I, even though I said I believe the President is a citizen of the United States, I don't understand why he shouldn't produce a birth certificate. My God, you're talking about the third rail of American journalism, baby! That's it. I'm not going to back off.
Didya get the whole "ethnocentric issue groups" ?
He also took shots at Rachel Maddow:
And tea-bagging queen Rachel Maddow over at MSNBC, she wanted another shot so apparently she twisted, she tried to twist my words. She ignored my statements on the issue. In other words, she was not being intellectually honest. Imagine that. [...] She lied. I never said I'm a 'birther.' I'm not. I don't know how many times I've said, 'Barack Obama is a citizen of the United States. Why not release your birth certificate?' What is the big deal with saying that?
Dobbs is performing fellatio on some CNN exec, to get away with this blatant crap!!

Haven't heard from isonprize in a while.
Justice58
I know. I noticed that also. I hope all is well.
Angelar
Can't stand Lou Dobbs, he's even worse on his radio show.
Plantsmantx
Sorry, Lou- if you say "Why not release your birth certificate?", you're a Birther, no matter what else you might say on the subject.
Angelar
and guess what, there are some questions about Lou Dobbs being born in Mexico....I'd love to have that be substantiated, not sure how real this is....that would be too funny.
I'm vegan and I hate PETA. They are some of the biggest hypocrites on the planet. They've been hot on Vick's ass since the story broke yet they're down there in Norfolk killing dogs too.
petakillsanimals.com:
From July 1998 through December 2008, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed over 21,000 dogs, cats, and other "companion animals." That's more than five defenseless creatures every day. PETA has a walk-in freezer to store the dead bodies, and contracts with a Virginia Beach company to cremate them.
Miranda
A group that dared to compare the plight of damn chickens to the middle passage can go where the sun don't shine. I cant stand this bunch of numbnuts. I wish I had a PETA voodoo doll, I'd be plucking that shit all damn night.
vulcan_girl
I wish I could like your comment fifty-leventy times.
lamh32
Let me guess: MICHAEL VICK!
Val
lol what happened Rikyrah?
vulcan_girl
Some PETA guy was on Ed's show talking about how Vick needs to have counseling, brain scans (for real!) and testing to make sure that he won't do it again.
WTF? Brain scans for Vick... Who gave Peta the power to determine Vick's destiny?
I hate these muthafuckers!
Miranda
I cant stand these bitch azzes either. What Ed should have asked PETA was how come they're not asking for brain scans of Vick's co-defendants? hmph....because there's no publicity in that.
spirit_55z
I just watched the video. That self-righteous scrawny punk-ass cracka....standing next to Stephen Smith.
Stephen should've bitch-slapped that mofo into next year.
rikyrah
yeah, the whole brain scan thing just pissed me off to no end.
Justice58
Brain scan? These mofos have lost their ever loving mind.
Lisa M
Even Ron Christie got all black about it talking how he was offended by the comments.
Miranda
WHAAAA?!?!?!?
crap! I need more time to repent!!! Are the four horsemen here yet?
spirit_55z
ROTFLMBAO!!
No you didn't invoke the four horsemen. LOL!!!!!!!!
Christie was thouroughly ticked off.
Newsflash Christie, they'll order a fucking lobotomy on your ass if you cross them.
Miranda
I want to see THAT clip and its not up! One of my friends just told me how it went down - which is why I'm looking outside and wondering when the clouds will part and armageddon will start...because obviously the day Ron Christie pulls out THE CARD to bash an organization over Michael Vick......yeah.....
revelations has commenced...I just know it! See y'all on the other side!
Angelar
yup, I was shocked at Ron Christie...don't know how long he will remain sane though, I think by tomorrow his paycheck will have signaled him back to the lunatic right. Christie was probably allowed a day on the beach.
rikyrah
I know...my mouth was open in shock.
Val
watching howard dean on KO. Howard Dean says we can continue the Healthcare debate after the Keith Olbermann show online at progressivebookclub.com
A live interview with Joan Rivers went horribly wrong on "Good Day Sacramento" this morning -- after a reporter pissed off the comic so much, that she killed the segment and dropped the F-Bomb on LIVE TV!!
Those two women are trash. I cannot stand either of them.

Man convicted of making death threats against Obama 3:51 PM | July 28, 2009
A 47-year-old La Mesa man was convicted in federal court today of making death threats against Barack Obama during the presidential race.
Walter Edward Bagdasarian faces a 10-year prison term when he is sentenced Oct. 26.
U.S. District Court Judge Marilyn Huff rejected Bagdasarian's lawyer's assertion that his client was drunk when he left messages on an Internet site using the n-word and suggesting that Obama would soon be shot in the head with a .50-caliber rifle.
During a raid of Bagdasarian's home, law enforcement officials seized a computer hard drive and a .50-caliber rifle.
The trial, which Bagdasarian asked to be heard by a judge instead of a jury, lasted 90 minutes with Bagdasarian. Free on bail, Bagdasarian, who works in the airplane parts business, refused to speak to reporters as he left the downtown federal courthouse.
He might be related to Ross Bagdasarian, who was the voice of the Chipmunks back in the day.
Might even be his son.
Armenians, though, are considered white people.
caligirl
i saw the footage of him leaving the courthouse with his wife...he looks like a white person... but i take your point.
caligirl
yeah, i saw that on the news earlier today. this is in san diego. the sentence this man receives will be interesting and potentially powerful. hopefully it'll be strong enough to send a clear message that this sort of hate won't get treated lightly. c'mon san diego!!!!!
djchefron
Round all their treasonous asses up.Are you paying attention Glen Beck,Rush Limbaugh all of Fox news.
PTCruiser
Maxine Waters is right. If you lay down with dogs, you will always get up with fleas.
Not to be trivial, but why did MSNBC put that dowdy looking azz picture of Maxine Waters up. They couldn't have put a nicer picture of Mz Maxine than that one?

SWIMMING Michael Phelps upset in world championships
Germany's Paul Biedermann wins the 200 freestyle in record time -- besting Phelps' former world record -- to hand the American swimmer his first major individual loss in four years. By Lisa Dillman 10:28 AM PDT, July 28, 2009 Reporting from Rome -- One more icon was added to Paul Biedermann's fast-growing list of vanquished swimmers.
Shockingly, it was Olympic swim star Michael Phelps who was left in Biedermann's powerful wake today at the world swimming championships at the Foro Italico sports complex. Biedermann, of Germany, not only beat Phelps in a convincing manner, but he took away Phelps' world record in the 200-meter freestyle.
Repost (since Rikyrah posted this literally 20-something seconds after I posted it in the other thread): I just put Disquis on my blog, so when I write a new post (not the current posts, but anything I post after today), you'll be able to use your login that you use here, and people can rate your comments (as if people comment on my blog now. LOL, I've got to do better at promotion when I finish with this test)

Maxine Waters: White House Won’t Put Pressure On Blue Dogs By: Jane Hamsher Tuesday July 28, 2009 9:48 am
Maxine Waters blasts Rahm and the Blue Dogs on MSNBC, and says what we're seeing on health care is because the White House won't reign them in. MSNBC's Carlos Watson asks the great questions everyone should be asking:
WATSON: Is the President and Rahm Emanuel -- former member of the House -- are they treading too lightly here, are they not bringing out the big stick against some of those Blue Dog Democrats and saying "we've got a once in a four-decade opportunity to get this passed, everyone knows how easy it is for momentum to dissipate, you guys have to get on board and we've got to go forward and make sure that everyone has better health care, is covered, and hopefully better quality of outcome?
WATERS: Well that may be difficult for Rahm Emanuel, because don't forget -- he recruited most of them. As when he was over in the Congress, in the leadership, Rahm Emanuel recruited more conservative members and based on some of the information I'm getting, they told them that they could vote the way they wanted to vote, that they would not interfere with what was considered their philosophy about some of these things. So, now the chickens have come home to roost.
Waters and Hamsher make good points BUT It's ironic that they are so anti-Blue Dog considering they worship at the alter of the biggest Blue Dogs of them all -- the Clintons.
I find Carlos very hot. Something 'bout a chocolate-skinned brotha with a big toothy white teeth smile, who seems to be hella smart, turns me on.
caligirl
i agree!
he is a cutie-pie. and he does have nice teeth. mainly, he seems confident as HELL (with the intellect to back it up), which is very appealing.
lamh32
No doubt, having said all that, I'm 5'9" in my bare feet, Carlos looks kinda short, but I don't mind that "titty-high guy" (that's what my best friend calls guys who are no taller than our breastline). His confidence makes him seem taller.
whiterosebuddy
hehehe...Carlos tall 6'1"...he is overyourhead...but can bend it to get to ALLL you want him to reach!, lol
He likes chocolate sisters, and he has enough height to be with FLOTUS!!
