I wonder what you have to do to be asked to step down in the state of S.C. These other people had to give up their seats, why is this idiot so special. It's not like he was doing such a great job down there. His wife has ended up being just as stupid as he. Who the devil would have 4 sons by some idiot and stand by his side while he stands there and speaks of his love for another woman and then say that you are willing to take him back. This is craziest crap I have ever seen.

Good night JJP,
I'm off to bed. Just watched TVONE's rebroadcast of that MJ 30 years tribute special that came on CBS in 2003.
I'm not going to gt into the whole did he or didn't he have vitilogo (sp?), but i you watch the video of that program, you can see during some performances that he was trying to cover the bottom part of his face. The area between his nose and his mouth, and around his mouth was obviously discolored, and whatever make-up he was wearing was coming off.
From the file of those "compassionate Republicans," there's this:
Missouri State Representative Cynthia Davis is one tough cookie. Last week she opposed subsidizing school lunches for low income children during summer months saying, "Hunger can be a positive motivator." This is excellent news considering 1 in 5 Missouri kids is living in hunger, so that state is due for a productivity boon.. .. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/02/colber...

actually, it's common for large processionals to make arrangements (offer honorarium) to police and public safety folks to help with traffic and such. Funeral directors do a lot of stuff that you might not think of...
What's uncommon is for these sort of details to be published. Now, I ain't sayin' it's customary for it to be half-a-million, but it's not uncommon.
I do agree, however, that this is gonna be something unlike any funeral/ tribute/ service ever seen before.

Immigrant high school student endures detainment
TRENTON, N.J. — He was born on the Fourth of July, an irony he would learn to appreciate later, during the dark period of his life, when liberty and freedom came to mean something far more real than words in his high school history book.
Daniel Guadron has been fighting the odds all his young life, mostly as a happy warrior, winning admirers and supporters at every turn. It's not just that he excelled in school: The straight-A student mastered English within months of emigrating from Guatemala at 13, then mastered French. He's aced every math test he has ever taken. Or that he is blessed with a sunny nature, sparkling mind and ever-flashing smile. Or that he shines on the soccer field and on the wrestling mat. The handsome, crewcut young man has always possessed something more, a wisdom that radiates from his deep brown eyes, a thirst for knowledge and for self-improvement, a clarity of vision about the nature of the world, good and bad, and what he can achieve in it. Everyone could see it — his teachers at Trenton Central High, his coaches, the running buddies who trained with him for his first 10K race, co-workers in the restaurant where he works at weekends, even a lawyer he befriended in the corporate building he cleans at nights. "Mr. Professor," the lawyer dubbed the cheerful teen who swept floors even as he dreamed of becoming an engineer.
Daniel's guidance counselor called him "everyone's shining star." And then, one chilly day in April 2008, the 18-year-old star disappeared.
very touching story. will write another letter to support the dream act. thank you.

Lead found in Michelle Obama's WH Garden
So we all know that the White House garden has lettuce, beans, chard, broccoli and collards, among other things. But lead?
Yes, the soil in the White House garden has tested positive for lead, but not in levels that are dangerous, a White House official said on Thursday.
Tests on the soil detected lead levels of 93 parts per million. The Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Housing and Urban Development advise (but do not require) remediation if lead levels in soil exceed 400 parts per million in children’s play areas and 1,200 p.p.m. elsewhere.
Some cities and countries have set much lower limits. For example, 100 p.p.m. is considered hazardous in Minneapolis. In the Netherlands, 40 p.p.m. is unacceptable.
White House officials say there is no need to worry.
“The garden recently underwent extensive soil testing that proved it is completely safe,’’ said Katie McCormick Lelyveld, a spokeswoman for Michelle Obama, the first lady.
“A lead level of 93 parts per million is significantly better than the government standard for a garden like this,’’ she said. “The White House kitchen garden team is committed to producing fresh, safe, and healthy food as a learning opportunity about healthy eating, and they’ll continue to do so.”
A brief mention of the lead findings appeared in a Home & Garden article in The Times in mid-May, but the White House issued its first public statement upon receiving inquiries on Thursday.
In the Times article about high lead levels found in urban gardens, Kate Murphy wrote that the White House had mixed lime and compost into the soil for its kitchen garden. An expert recommended crops like tomatoes, squash, eggplant, corn and beans that don’t accumulate much lead. But herbs, leafy greens and root vegetables like potatoes, radishes and carrots were more likely to leach lead and carry more dirt.

OBAMA SAYS HE GREW UP LISTENING TO MICHAEL JACKSON
WASHINGTON – The King of Pop had a fan in the White House.
President Barack Obama described himself as a longtime follower of Michael Jackson, the legendary performer who died June 25 at age 50.
"I grew up on his music — still have all his stuff on my iPod," Obama said in an AP interview Thursday, adding that Jackson "will go down in history as one of our greatest entertainers."
At the time of his death, the pop icon was preparing a series of comeback concerts to overcome years of sexual scandal and financial calamity — a troubled history the president acknowledged without naming specifics.
"I think that his brilliance as a performer also was paired with a tragic and, in many ways, sad personal life," Obama said.
He expressed pleasure that the public is celebrating Jackson for his talents, instead of dwelling on his personal tragedies.
"I'm glad to see that he is being remembered primarily for the great joy that he brought to a lot of people through his extraordinary gifts as an entertainer."
The president said he didn't see any controversy in the fact that he did not issue a formal public statement upon Jackson's death, and said he was unaware of any dissatisfaction in the black community with his response.
"I know a lot of people in the black community," Obama said. "I haven't heard that."
Obama added that Thursday's interview was the first time he had been asked about Jackson's death.

President Obama is a person, a human being...he never ever ever ever once said he could perform miracles, so why do loser people try to make him a "miracle worker."
Losers need to get over it...the president doesn't walk on water and he never claimed he could.
George Bush took eight long years to bring down our country and now the miracle fantasy people want Obama to FIX everthing in 6 months.
"I know a lot of people in the black community," Obama said. "I haven't heard that."

Wimbledon Officials Call Serena Williams Ugly, Send Her to Back Courts
The Williams sisters are just better than everyone else.. . . and there goes yet another the theory.
First our President is potentially the most brilliant person in the United States (taking away from the theory that blacks can't learn)
Our First Lady is brilliant in her own right, is thoughtful, kind, intelligent,a strong advocate in childcare, healthy lifestyles, eating habits and excercise blah blah blah (taking away from the theory that black women are always angry and on welfare, abuse or neglect their children, and proponents of cooking everything in heavy fatback grease)
Atty Gen Holder is the head of the Department of Justice (taking away from the theory that blacks belong behind bars vs. being the actual key holders)
Dr. Susan Rice is the U.N. Ambassador further dismantling the concept that intelligence in the black community (especially black women) is an anomaly.
Let's skip past those folks, Until recent years, golf was considered a sport of the rich and famous and blacks were not considered a part of that world. Blacks made good caddies, made good staff for the country clubs but with the exception of George Grant's 1899 patented invention of the golf tee. . . blacks were not considered to be able to provide any type of valuable contributions to that sport .. .that is until Tiger Woods came along and dismantled that preconceived notion.
Then in recent years and especially the last 18 months the groups who were considered to be the "family values" leaders and the folks who were supposed to be the leadership in our country started to show an ugly trend. Infidelity, twisted sexual patterns, no clear ideas for the future, ignorance to financial responsibility, unable to connect with what is going on in the country today, promotion of an unwed, uneducated pregnant teen and was willing to pass it off as acceptable behavior, the propensity to lie even when knowing that it was clear that the statement(s) were lies, downgrading other ethic groups while using tax payers money to leave the country to have sexual acts with men and women of those ethnic groups etc, etc. etc. while our President embodies true leadership and the First Family through actions, words and deeds represent daily the true meaning of family values. . .
then we have Michael Jackson who even in death and with all his flaws dominated the MSM news cycle on everything to include politics for what will be at minimum1 full week. Who surpassed coverage of Farah Fawcett and I think two other celebrities passed within the same 24 hour news cycle but I can't even remember their names. Folks are having epileptic fits as they race to pull out every single skeleton (real or imagined) out of his closet and every psuedo/wanna be pychologist can tell you vivid details of his life and why he was who he was and the reasoning behind all his life decisions.. . . Fascinating really. . . especially with all the negative reporting (and his body is not yet in the ground) sales in his records, products etc. are skyrocketing, folks crying, buying up his stuff, strangers all around the world congregating at Neverland just to pay their respects and to say goodbye. . . . yep it is simply fascinating.
and now we have the Williams sisters who are intelligent, overcame obstacles, worked hard, and who shamelessly celebrate their bodies, are successful on and off the court (with their business ventures), . . . . and who have the nerve to CONSISTENTLY kick butt all over the tennis court. . . . c'mon now. . . IT JUST AIN'T FAIR waaahhhhhhhhhhhhh
This is just a brief recap of less than 8 examples to highlight just how far we have come and just how much blacks and other minority groups have accomplished. The world is evolving and the folks who don't want to keep up should either deal with it or find the closest bridge and do what they have to do.
In short, . . It's all good Miranda and it doesn't change the fact that a Williams will be the Wimbeldon winner.
spirit_55z
It was HIT piece on the Williams Sisters. And youre so right, Miranda. The title alone was sheer fuckery. That bitch just took license and flat out called Serena and Venus ugly.
Notice how strategically the pics were placed on the post to DRIVE the point home.
White European women = beauty
Black stong, toned women = ugly
Of course, we aint buying that bullshit.
The Williams Sisters have more beauty, style, talent, smarts, and grace and that is why they are Wimbeldon's finalist.

July 1, 2009 Palin E-mails Show Infighting With Staff Exclusive: Spat Over Todd Palin's Membership In Secessionist Party Was Major Distraction On Critical Day In '08 Campaign
CBS) The tension between Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and top McCain campaign aides in the closing days of last fall's presidential campaign is elucidated in a profile in the new issue of Vanity Fair. CBS News' Scott Conroy and special contributor Shushannah Walshe, who are writing a book about Palin, reveal just one example of how the mutual frustrations went even further than what has been disclosed so far.
Internal campaign e-mails exchanged three weeks before Election Day offer a rare look at just how frustrated then Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin had become with the manner in which top McCain campaign aides were handling her candidacy. The e-mails, obtained exclusively, also highlight the power struggle and thinly veiled acrimony that pervaded the relationship between Palin and the campaign's chief strategist, Steve Schmidt.
The episode in question began when an investigative report published on the left-leaning Web site Salon.com raised questions about Palin's relationship with members of the Alaska Independence Party (AIP) when she was mayor of Wasilla. The AIP's platform calls for a vote giving Alaskans the option to secede from the United States. It had already been widely known that Todd Palin was a registered member of the AIP from 1995 to 2002 and that Governor Palin had taped a recorded greeting at the party's 2008 convention.
On the morning of Oct. 15, Palin was aboard her campaign jet and en route to New Hampshire when she happened to catch a disparaging CNN segment that touted the Salon.com story, complete with a provocative graphic at the bottom of the screen reading, "THE PALINS AND THE FRINGE."
While shaking hands after a rally later that afternoon, someone on the rope line shouted a remark at Palin about the AIP.
The comment set her off. She worried that the campaign was not sufficiently mitigating the issue of her alleged connection to the party, which despite a platform that harkens more to the Civil War than the 21st century, continued to play a serious role in Alaska politics.
Palin blasted out an e-mail with the subject line "Todd" to Schmidt, campaign manager Rick Davis and senior advisor Nicolle Wallace, copying her husband on the message (all of the e-mails are reprinted below as written).
"Pls get in front of that ridiculous issue that's cropped up all day today - two reporters, a protestor's sign, and many shout-outs all claiming Todd's involvement in an anti-American political party," Palin wrote. "It's bull, and I don't want to have to keep reacting to it ... Pls have statement given on this so it's put to bed."
Her reference to a single protestor's sign and "many shout-outs" was indicative of Palin's occasional tendency to take anecdotal evidence of a minor problem and extrapolate it into something far more menacing. The final of the three presidential debates was just hours away, which would mark the unveiling of the soon-to-be canonized Joe The Plumber.
The Joe The Plumber narrative was the Republicans' secret weapon -- the last chance to put a chink in Obama's seemingly impervious armor. It was not a time for distractions, but the campaign was compelled to deal with the drama that seemed to follow Palin wherever she went.
Schmidt hit "reply to all" less than five minutes after Palin's e-mail was sent. "Ignore it," he wrote. "He was a member of the aip? My understanding is yes. That is part of their platform. Do not engage the protestors. If a reporter asks say it is ridiculous. Todd loves america."
This clear cut response from the campaign's top dog carried an air of finality, but it did not satisfy Palin. She responded with another e-mail, adding five more names to the "cc" box, all of whom traveled on her campaign plane. They included her senior political adviser Tucker Eskew, senior aide Jason Recher, the lone traveling aide from her Alaska office Kris Perry, press secretary Tracey Schmitt and personal assistant Bexie Nobles.
Palin's insertion of the five additional staffers in the e-mail chain was an apparent attempt to rally her own troops in the face of a decision from the commanding general with which she disagreed. Her inclusion of her personal assistant was particularly telling about her quest for affirmation and support in numbers, since the young staffer was not in a position to have any input on campaign strategy.
"That's not part of their platform and he was only a 'member' bc independent alaskans too often check that 'Alaska Independent' box on voter registrations thinking it just means non partisan," Palin wrote. "He caught his error when changing our address and checked the right box. I still want it fixed."
Palin was attempting to bend the facts ever so slightly to fit neatly into her version of events. In truth, the box that Alaskans have the option of checking when registering to vote states the full name of the party, "Alaskan Independence Party," not "Alaska Independent," which would make an error by uncommitted voters more plausible.
Clearly irritated by what he saw as Palin's attempt to mislead her own campaign and apparently determined to demonstrate that the ultimate authority rested with him, Schmidt put the matter to rest once and for all with a longer response to everyone in the e-mail chain.
"Secession," he wrote. "It is their entire reason for existence. A cursory examination of the website shows that the party exists for the purpose of seceding from the union. That is the stated goal on the front page of the web site. Our records indicate that todd was a member for seven years. If this is incorrect then we need to understand the discrepancy. The statement you are suggesting be released would be innaccurate. The innaccuracy would bring greater media attention to this matter and be a distraction. According to your staff there have been no media inquiries into this and you received no questions about it during your interviews. If you are asked about it you should smile and say many alaskans who love their country join the party because it speeks to a tradition of political independence. Todd loves his country
We will not put out a statement and inflame this and create a situation where john has to adress this."
Schmidt's rebuttal to Palin's suggestion that reporters had asked her about the issue was particularly blunt in that it implicitly questioned her truthfulness. Furthermore, his unwillingness to budge an inch on the matter was a remarkable assertion of his power to pull rank over the candidate herself.
Palin was silent after his second e-mail and the campaign did not issue the statement she demanded.
Reached on his cell phone on Wednesday, Schmidt declined to comment on the e-mail exchange. "I was proud to work for the McCain-Palin ticket," he said. "We did our best in an extraordinarily difficult year. I wish that all this stuff could all be left in the past where it belongs because Barack Obama won the election and he's President of the United States. It's all over, it's in the past."
This woman is a total nutcase...just today someone pointed out that her poses in some joggers magazine has her wearing nylons ! Give me a freaking break...I'm a novice at running and you don't put freaking nylons on to jog!!
I'm convinced she is not serious about running for president, I think she is playing her religious nutties for suckers so they will buy her book. Sarah Palin knows she could never ever ever be elected as our president and no one seriously would ask her to be their vp again. BUT...she is smart enough to know she has the power to milk those rightie religious crazies to buy her book.
I agree with Schmidt's last quote. I'm also happy to see he didn't live in as much denial about the Palins as it seemed the campaign did. But they had to do their jobs and try to get their man elected, I suppose.
I do, however, find it interesting that every story out now about Palin paints her as a victim. They're trying awfully hard to keep her in the national conversation no matter how potentially damaging the stories might be.
Angelar
posing in a runners mag wearing nylons is not a "victims" pose. her value is in keeping the religious nutties in line...they are being played by suckers by palin and the republican leaders.

He called for Clinton's resignation and all Clinton did was get a blowjob in his office at work! He has talked extensively about other politicians who have strayed and how they broke sacred vows with their wives, and should therefore resign from their public positions.
But THIS mofo flies 4800 miles away to get his swerve on over a weekend that included Father's Day (to his FOUR sons!!), and nobody is supposed to call him on his utter bullshit? Then starts confessing on shiggedy that nobody even asked him about!!

Its almost like he's saying "damn, what else can a mofo do to get impeached around here?" Its like he's begging to be forced to resign and the right people still won't demand it! I think when the GOP leaders said as long as he reconciled with Jenny they would stick by him - Marky Mark then went and told the AP stuff that sounded like he was making it up on the fly! LOL - all of a sudden there are other women that he just didn't "stick it in" with.
