I just watched the segment on the Ed Show and people have already been plopping down deposits for it! Its already considered a big hit…..somebody really needs to let me know the hustle because I thought times were supposedly tight and this ride is already gonna be their top seller for 2009 at 40k.

ABC takes a look at the signs that are an unnecessary expense to road construction. State crews already have plenty of orange signs for warning drives of the work being done. It’s advertising, and the only thing it stimulates is Barack Obama’s poll numbers, although even these won’t help.

Had the stimulus been what it should have been: timely, targeted and temporary perhaps the public would be more forgiving. But the 'rosy' scenario upon which the Administration based the size of the 'stimulus' package and the lovely charts showing unemployment rising above the levels predicted by the WH if we did nothing at all is it any wonder that taxpayers are anxious?

As for the 'straw man' argument that the GOP wants to do nothing…well, we've heard that before. But there is plenty the we could do to actually provide incentives for business to hire and people to spend, but such proven stimulus as payroll tax and capital gains tax holiday are an anathema to the Democratic Party. They have yet to grasp the fact that businesses (gasp, not the federal, state or local government) create the jobs and the incomes for families all throughout America.

I've been away from home for a bit, and suffice it to say that life on the trail doesn't do much for intimacy.

So there is a certain, um, frustration that's coming out.
