News Alert 04:55 PM EDT Friday, July 10, 2009 Obama Administration Considering Extending Bailout to Small Businesses
Initiative would take money from the $700 billion program for the banking system and make it available to millions of small businesses, a striking shift from the rescue program's original mandate.
ABC takes a look at the signs that are an unnecessary expense to road construction. State crews already have plenty of orange signs for warning drives of the work being done. It’s advertising, and the only thing it stimulates is Barack Obama’s poll numbers, although even these won’t help.

In Ohio, Biden Defends Stimulus Package Vice President Fires Back at GOP and Critics By Peter Slevin Washington Post Staff Writer Friday, July 10, 2009
CINCINNATI, July 9 -- In a campaign-style speech designed to seize the initiative from Republican critics and reassure voters that the White House has a plan to rescue the lagging economy, Vice President Biden forcefully defended the administration's economic recovery package on Thursday and asked for patience. Biden said money from the $787 billion stimulus bill is flowing and will flow faster, directly saving public service jobs. He urged Americans to recognize the severity of the administration's inherited problems and promised, "You're going to see more pace on the ball."
"Remember, we're only 140 days into this deal. It's supposed to take 18 months," Biden said during his appearance in a pivotal electoral battleground state where unemployment has reached 10.8 percent and support for President Obama's handling of the economy has fallen below 50 percent in some polls. Referring to the Republicans who have upped their attacks on the stimulus package in hopes of turning next year's midterm elections into a referendum on Democratic economic policy, Biden asked: "Would they do nothing?"
The aggressive tone and tempo of his speech came at a moment when the Obama administration is facing sustained criticism from the GOP amid worries that the recovery may stall. It also came near the end of a rough week for Biden, who said Sunday that the administration "misread the economy," only to have Obama publicly disagree with him.
Had the stimulus been what it should have been: timely, targeted and temporary perhaps the public would be more forgiving. But the 'rosy' scenario upon which the Administration based the size of the 'stimulus' package and the lovely charts showing unemployment rising above the levels predicted by the WH if we did nothing at all is it any wonder that taxpayers are anxious?
As for the 'straw man' argument that the GOP wants to do nothing...well, we've heard that before. But there is plenty the we could do to actually provide incentives for business to hire and people to spend, but such proven stimulus as payroll tax and capital gains tax holiday are an anathema to the Democratic Party. They have yet to grasp the fact that businesses (gasp, not the federal, state or local government) create the jobs and the incomes for families all throughout America.

"MJ Might Be Gone But the Moonwalk, Apparently, Is Eternal Buck Banks | Jul. 10, 2009
OK, I know, we’re all up to here with the whole Michael Jackson thing, but this is only a little bit about him and alot about his trademark move. And it’s also about how, in a world torn apart by war, famine, inequality and political upheaval, it’s good to remind ourselves that there is an incredible number of nerds out there who are willing and able to demonstrate their nerdiness on camera.
Some outfit called Studio Brussel (yes, without the S) has created Eternal Moonwalk, where anyone with a video camera and no superego to step in and prevent the nonsense can record a 10-second video of themselves doing their own take on Jackson’s famous dance step. Each clip blends into the next, from a warehouse in Belgium to an office in Van Nuys to a living room in Sao Paolo, featuring hot chicks, formerly inanimate objects, small children, guys in boxer shorts, animals and some pretty cool animations.
One is reminded of Jackson’s greatness —he actually could moonwalk like a mofo — while it’s clear that 95 percent of the rest of humanity is totally clueless on how to execute the step. Still, finish whatever you’re doing (because you won’t be able to stop watching once you start) and enjoy the Eternal Moonwalk."
I think we knew Sarah wasn't bright enough to come up with this but the McCain campaign said:
VP candidate Sarah Palin had defied them with one of her most vicious attacks on Obama -- that he "pals around with terrorists."
They all LIARS, starting with that @#!%$#^ McCain.
From HuffPo:
According to Marc Ambinder, Dan Balz and Haynes Johnson's "The Battle for America" shows clearly that McCain's staff put the words in Palin's mouth.
Turns out that the McCain campaign was a week away from running an ad linking Obama to Ayers. The e-mail from Wallace, according to Balz and Johnson, reads as follows: "Governor and Team: rick [Davis], Steve [Schmidt] and I suggest the following attack from the new york times. If you are comfortable, please deliver the attack as written. Please do not make any changes to the below without approval from steve or myself because precision is crucial in our ability to introduce this."
McCain HQ had suggested the following line: "This is not a man who sees American as you and I do -- as the greatest force for good in the world. This is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country."
*&%$#!@!
Miranda
Is Nicole Wallace that bobblehead one?
Val
I don't care who wrote it. She said it and enjoyed every second of it.
Palin alone is liable for that one. Especially when as the article stated stated the email included the following -- "IF you are comfortable, deliver the attack as written".
IRS "Turning Over Every Rock" to Raise Revenue: Obama Targeting Overseas Assets Posted Jul 10, 2009 09:27am EDT by Aaron Task
Faced with massive deficits and dwindling tax revenues, the U.S. government is "turning every rock it can over to find as much revenue as it can," says Ken Rubinstein, senior partner at Rubinstein & Rubinstein. In addition to potential tax hikes, Rubinstein sees a wholesale change in how America treats foreign holdings of U.S. individuals and corporations, citing: • Repatriation: The Obama administration has discussed raising taxes on profits earned overseas by U.S.-based

Law in Popular Culture ‘Waterboarding’ Among 100 New Words Added to Dictionary By Molly McDonough
The word for the interrogation technique that simulates drowning -- waterboarding -- has become so much a part of American conversation that it's been selected as one of 100 new words added to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.
John Morse, president and publisher of Merriam-Webster, tells the Associated Press that many of this year's new words are tied to changes in technology, increasing environmental awareness and aging baby boomers' concerns about their health. "These are not new words in the language, by any means," Morse said. "(But) when words like 'neuroprotective' and 'cardioprotective' show up in the Collegiate, it's because we've made the judgment that these are not just words used by specialists. ... These really are words now likely to show up in The New York Times, in The Wall Street Journal."
Also on the list of new words for 2009: Earmark - (third use) a provision in Congressional legislation that allocates a specified amount of money for a specific project, program, or organization.
Frenemy - someone who acts like a friend but is really an enemy.
Locavore - one who eats foods grown locally.
Vlogs - a blog that contains video material.
Flash mob - a group of people summoned electronically to a designated spot at a specified time to perform an indicated action before dispersing.
His Rudeness strikes again Friday Fun (Featuring More Ass Than Usual): Truth be told, it is a nice ass. Jailbait ass, yes, but a nice ass. And if the photo actually showed President Barack Obama checking out junior delegate ass at the G-8 summit, it might be worth a word or two. But it doesn't. It shows a frozen moment when Obama was turning his head. (Nicolas Sarkozy is another matter - that's a man scoping out la booty.)
The response of some on the right is an ejaculatory spray of spooge as if Matt Drudge just got a picture of Barack Obama getting a blumpkin from a tranny whore in the men's room of the Buenos Aires airport (or, for Drudge, "Tuesdays"). Over at Ann Althouse's joint, there's a post that's gotta be a parody, for if it is not, then an "Althouse" must be "a place where people never get laid," for she details a comparison of the body language of Obama and Sarkozy that says, "The foot closest to the woman, like Sarkozy's, is planted and aimed forward, but the other steps off in the direction of the woman, bending the knee upward into a bit of a crotch-squeeze and forming the base of a dramatic tilt of the entire body into a flexible S-shape that leans toward the woman."
At least one of Althouse's commenters just decided to go full retard with racism. Max says, "Sarkozy is thinking, 'I go home to Carla and you go home to The Beast of ACORN!' There’s our leader doing what he does best – community booty organizer. The only ghetto mannerism missing is his unconscious hand clutching his boy-brain (crotch) in MJ fashion!" It's like the charming Freeper discussion detailed over at Kos about Malia Obama wearing a t-shirt and shorts.
The point here, as ever with the conservative commentariat, is not that they're having fun. It's that it's fun about a lie. When we in Left Blogsylvania laughed our asses off at Bush's stupid facial expression when he couldn't open a Chinese door or when he massaged the shoulders of the leader of another country, it was because he actually did those things. (And, well, that motherfucker did look like a chimp.)
It's just kind of pathetic, this desperate attempt to mock Obama, as if catching him in a butt glance will mitigate the myriad sins of the Republicans. It's like seeing a limping frog trying to get to a quickly drying puddle.
However, if Obama had been checking her out, well, c'mon, can you blame him? Look at that ass. http://rudepundit.blogspot.com/
PBO is being a gentleman. Looks like Sarkozy, on the other hand, is checkin' out all dem azzes...LOLOL
See for yourselves. (and even if PBO is checkin' 'em out, he's so much smoother with his...)

The only problem is the censors would have to bleep him more times than drake and weezy on BET.

Again, not going Sanford here (not to mention the girl herself is too small for me). But it's not like I ended up with two kids by not looking at a woman's backside.
Ok, technically I didn't. But it helped....never mind.

Remember, when speaking about racism, whites are now playing the victim. While it is true the silence for black women being attacked is appalling, it still does not dismiss that the incident was racist. The fact that the author had to come up with an irrelevant argument (kind of like Don Imus incident revisited) demonstrates guilt.

Mini-Madoffs: The New Breed Of Downmarket Ponzi Schemers Bernie certainly wasn't alone. As BusinessWeek recently pointed out, there's currently a "bull market for investment scams."
Ponzi schemes, in which a scam artist like Bernie Madoff uses money from new investors to pay off old investors, are a time-honored tradition. But we've compiled a list of some of the more recent alleged grifters who, while diabolical in their own right, couldn't quite rival Madoff's $68 billion ripoff. The accused perpetrators range from New York society types, to "trans-Atlantic boiler rooms," to a multimillion scam on the island of Kauai. One of them even bankrolled a Paris Hilton movie, which, in retrospect, definitely should have been a serious red flag to potential investors.
Call them Mini-Madoffs. Call them evil geniuses. Or just call them petty crooks.
DETROIT — General Motors completed an unusually quick exit from bankruptcy protection on Friday with ambitions of making money and building cars people are eager to buy.
Once the world's largest and most powerful automaker, new GM is now leaner, cleansed of massive debt and burdensome contracts that would have sunk it without federal loans.
But GM, whose 40 days under court supervision was far shorter than anyone predicted, faces the worst auto sales slump in a quarter-century.
At a news conference, CEO Fritz Henderson said the revamped automaker will be faster and more responsive to customers than the old one. It will generate cash and repay billions in government loans ahead of a 2015 deadline.
OK, GM. The Camaro SS is off the chain. But $40,000? And the majority of your customer profile can't get a loan for it?
Tell me again why we bailed y'all out?

According to Rasmussen: Voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats on eight out of 10 key electoral issues, including, for the second straight month, the top issue of the economy. They’ve also narrowed the gap on the remaining two issues, the traditionally Democratic strong suits of health care and education.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that voters trust the GOP more on economic issues 46% to 41%, showing little change from the six-point lead the party held last month. This is just the second time in over two years of polling the GOP has held the advantage on economic issues. The parties were close on the issue in May, with the Democrats holding a one-point lead.
Voters not affiliated with either party trust Republicans more to handle the economy by a 46% to 32% margin."
Those who consider themselves apart from the political class trust Republicans more on the economy by a wide margin (58%-28%), while those inside the political class support Democrats … 99%-1%. No, that is not a typo. It’s a demonstration of the slavish devotion to Democrats within the political class.

Wow!!Thats pretty impressive considering only 25% of the total population are rethugs. On top of that 28% of your party agree with President Obama I say that has the makings of a political comeback, for dogcatcher in bumfuck,Utah

Rasmussen is the favorite poll of Conservatives. I look at multiple polls before I say, hey, this is what is happening with this particular issue. Remember, many of these polls also claimed that Pres. Obama and Sen. McCain were going to have this tight race, and well, we see how that worked out.
