I, too, have been concerned that the media is not pounding the story that this officer filed a false report. I want to know what happens to officers who file false reports. No one seems to be even talking about the fact that he lied and the bothers me.

This picture of the President and his family arriving in Ghana and the descendants of our ancestors welcoming them is a wonderful sight to behold for this 62 yr. old woman of color, however, it is equally frightening for many in this society. We haven't seen anything yet as they (racists/those on the fence/average white person/house Negroes)find it increasingly difficult to find smoke screens and other devices to hide their true feelings. In fact we are beginning to see just the tip of the iceberg now. Dr. Francis Cress Welsing
may have a point with her “Cress Theory of Color Confrontation” although she was vilified for it.

Really, its larger than Gates and Crowley.

What haven't entered the conversation also is the fact that racial profiling had recently been a focus of discussion in Cambridge (Aug 08 and Mar 09). So, it is not surprising that Gates would raise the issue of racial profiling.

In Aug 08, there was a student and faculty blow-up on the same issue, then, Harvard Univ. Pres. form a committee to review their concerns. After this blowup the police dept decides to form another committee to review their dept.

Everybody is studying and reviewing what Prof. Ogletree said he been intervening and involved in for more than 20 years. What more needs to happen before serious steps are taken to resolve a 20 yr old problem?

Maj. Stefan Cook places his hand on Ellen Gilmore, a self-proclaimed concerned citizen, outside of the federal courthouse in Columbus, Ga., earlier this month. She thanked him for having “the courage to stand up for the Constitution of the United States.”

Standing up for the Constitution? He would've taken his ass to Afghanistan and performed his duties as an officer.
