I don't think people even realize there are more than 50 ethnic groups in China. I met a Taiwanese woman visiting SF in May & and I asked her about that. She looked surprised that I even knew and said for some of them it was hard feeling free to choose because of the gov't oppression and dominant Han groups. Oh I saw a report on the BBC yesterday.
