They need to have a loan program for folks who don't qualify for the give-aways. Many could finance more efficient windows/doors/insulation/appliances, or install grid-tied solar systems and the like. At 30k+ for newer fairly efficient small house for a solar system, it's hard to swallow the cost up front. I've tried to find a way to buy/use solar at my home! The local utilities will not finance this kind of stuff (imagine that), and the only federal incentive is a $1500 tax credit. 30,000-1,500=still too much. These kinds of upgrades take 10-20 years to pay for themselves, probably longer in the case of the video. <br><br>As far as green jobs, thats just an outright rhetorical sham.1st, do you want someone who doesn't know squat working on your house? The only way this reaches the scale BO is predicting, is the economy crashing to Great Depression levels.
