Franken has been active in politics for some time. I met him in a John Anderson for Pres. office during the 1980 cycle (I was an occasional volunteer). Franken was sharp and delightful. I believe the SNL cast endorsed Anderson back then during his appearance on their show.

I think Bush usurped our freedom and privacy as much as anyone could. I think liberal progressives will take it the next logical steps along the Big Brother path. If you read the news, the security stuff, as well as military, you know the movies are not just a guess at things. You don't need a security clearance to read the news, yet. I am pessimistic that there will be a lasting recovery with the amount of debt we are taking on, and the rising taxes FOR ALL that will have to come. I am planning for that, and just trying to keep my business alive right now…..those are the facts of the moment. Recovery?????? Taxes will not equal a recovery. I'll wager a reasonable amount of your favorite beverage on a lack of recovery at the end of PBO's term.

I'm a military guy I must say it burns me when republicans talk about freedom. Freedom from what? Is the Patriot Act freedom? Is FISA freedom? unless you are privied to the proper intel stay away from the freedom angle.

You mentioned the economy, less you forget it takes more that 6 months to destroy the US economy. Thats like you blaming the Fire Dept for water damage after you set it a blaze. I wonder what your arguement will be once the economy recovers?

Yes, Yes of course. You dint know? If it's a Republican nursing home the cut-off is 2 weeks before retirement age (currently ~66.5). If it's a Democratic nursing home, there's no limit as long as you let the nice man tell you who to vote for. Those rules are a bit different in Illinois though. The Democratic age limit is MUCH higher (at least 135 I believe).

Yes, yes I agree wholeheartedly. Commit that thought to memory though, it will be apropos again someday.

All these elections have been won and lost within the law, even if the goal posts moved a little. I will still be advocating within the law. Maybe stocking up on a few specific things because of the dim outlook for freedom and the economy……but within the law.

Well we know that 18 is the minimum age to vote for everyone…I didn't know the GOP had a maximum age limit…what is it? 65? 70?
