you know I wish that the Repulicans and Democrates could come together quickly to get us a passed and effiective Healtcare plan as they did to get out in front of the President to pass word on about interferring the affairs of another country. They should be worried about the needs of Americans and stop sticking their noses in the affairs of other countries. The Persians know what they need to do and if they need America they will let you know. That's half the problem now always in the affairs of Black, Brown and Yellow countries. Before the election ole McCain wanted to "Bomb, bomb Iran. The president knows exactly how America should be responding and I wish they would let him handle it. They've been screwing up everything all these years and have shown us that they don't know how to handle these matters. GET BACK TO WORK ON AMERICAN NEEDS AND STAY OUT OF OTHER FOLKS BUSINESS.
He's the gold standard of journalism y'all. As such, I'm gonna be hella pissed if he doesn't get at least half the on-air tributes as that lightweight Russert did.

You are so right about being the gold standard. They don't make journalists like him anymore. Just look at what we get on television today....sad.
"Because of his reputation for accuracy, he was the voice American’s turned to for news on the Cuban missile crisis, the assassination of president John F. Kennedy, the Vietnam War, the Apollo 11 Moon landing, and the Watergate scandal.
Following Cronkite’s editorial report during the Tet Offensive that the Vietnam War was unwinnable, President Lyndon Johnson is reported to have said, “If I’ve lost Cronkite, I’ve lost Middle America.”
Cronkite is vividly remembered by many Americans as breaking the news of president John Kennedy’s death on November 22, 1963 and also for his coverage of the US space program – rubbing his hands together on camera with a smile on July 20, 1969 when the Apollo 11 mission first landed man on the moon.
Though Cronkite added nothing new to his reports on the Watergate affair, he brought together a wide range of reporting, and his credibility and status is credited by many with pushing the Watergate story to the forefront of the American public – culminating in the resignation of US president Richard Nixon on August 9, 1974."
"The white Christian heterosexual married male is the epitome of everything right with America, and yet it is the white Christian heterosexual married male who has been made the beast of America."
So you know I had plenty to say about how privileging certain bodies is wrong.

I just saw all the nonsense from conserative 2009. This is not an individual. It is a programmed blog monitor by subject. It is part of the Republican program to control the message. It's sole purpose is to engage you to waste your time. I admire them for that. President Obama's political team has to get a war room going.

When I see conserve's comments I don't even read them, just roll my eyes and move on!

Yeppers. I know it's tempting folks, but don't feed the energy creature. Much more fun to watch them spaz out when they realize no one is paying attention to them.
Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. Note that this was two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation - which had become official January 1, 1863. The Emancipation Proclamation had little impact on the Texans due to the minimal number of Union troops to enforce the new Executive order. However, with the surrender of General Lee in April of 1865, and the arrival of General Granger’s regiment, the forces were finally strong enough to influence and overcome the resistance. "NAZILA FATHI and ALAN COWELL Published: June 19, 2009 TEHRAN — In his first public response to days of protests, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, sternly warned opponents Friday to stay off the streets and denied opposition claims that last week’s disputed election was rigged, praising the ballot as an “epic moment that became a historic moment.”
In a somber and lengthy sermon at Friday prayers in Tehran, he called directly for an end to the protests by hundreds of thousands of Iranians demanding for a new election.
“Street challenge is not acceptable,” Ayatollah Khamenei said. “This is challenging democracy after the elections.” He said opposition leaders would be “held responsible for chaos” if they did not end the protests......"

This is going to end very badly. The middle class technocrats are already packing their bags.

Free documentary.....California: Failed State And who suffers? The poor......
That state has such inbred problems unique to itself it is a wonder it has functioned at all. You have to be upper upper middle class to live there and live comfortably.

I have a relative living in California, she has multiple graduate degrees and makes a low 6 figure income. She is married to a dude with a graduate degree who makes about a 6 figure income. They have to get "loans" from their parents to make their property tax payments. Living the "good life" in California seems to be very expensive.
