You know, one of the reasons that I think i'm still so disappointed in the BET Awards is because it didn't give me an emotional outlet. Emotional outlet?

Yeah, emotional outlet. I talked earlier about how I would have preferred a plain, church-style, get-up-and-sang show, but what I failed to elaborate on was the need for an emotional outlet.

We didn't realize it, but some of us were waiting for that moment when Michael's talent would be so illuminated that you'd have to shed a tear of thanks to the Almighty G for sharing Michael with us all. BET failed at providing that moment. Nothing that they did came close to providing that moment.

Inspite of all the crap they threw at us, they couldn't eke out a single moment when we would be overwhelmed with the loss. Sure, Janet's expressions were sentimental, but the burden was not hers to provide us that moment. That's where BET really failed.

If they could have just provided us a single moment where we could say, "Lord Have Mercy! I'm gonna miss Michael," then we would have forgiven the 3.5 hours of travesty that was presented. They couldn't even generate a single moment, so it was an EPIC FAIL.

Now we have to sit back and wait for MTV or Steven Spielberg to do it. How fucking sad. How fucking sad.

Senator Dianne Feinstein has already taken a hammering from Dems and health care reform advocates for casting doubts on the prospects of President Obama’s health care reform efforts. MoveOn, for instance, aired an ad against her in California, demanding she show some leadership and fight harder to get the president’s reform plan passed.

Now Feinstein has hit back at the criticism from the left in an article about lefty groups targeting Dems for waffling on key components of health care reform:

“I do not think this is helpful. It doesn’t move me one whit,” she said. “They are spending a lot of money on something that is not productive.”

That sharply dismissive tone won’t exactly smooth over tensions.

Feinstein’s claim that criticism from the left is “not productive” also raises an important question: What does the White House think of the lefty criticism? Do White House advisers agree with Feinstein, and want the liberal groups to muzzle themselves, or are they tacitly happy about it?

When liberal groups hit Dems during other policy fights earlier this year, the White House let it be known that it didn’t approve. In the case of health care, though, the White House hasn’t said word boo about the efforts by liberal groups to force Dems into line, suggesting the possibility that Obama advisers are perfectly content with it for the time being.

Thanks, I had not seen that version it's just like the album. I love this man and I remember that he too suffered from abuse dosed out to him from his father. When I see the tv ad with the star coming into the room and shedding her clothes to Marvin's Space lOve, it just slays me. I miss him so much and like Michael hated that he was plagued by such demons. I am the mother of a 38 year old Autistic son who has loved Marvin Gaye since my son was 4 years old and even til today he loves to listen to the music of Marvin. I must let him see this video, he will just love it. Thanks for sharing. We traveled the world a lot and as much as I loved Marvin, everytime he was in performance we always missed him because we were just leaving or he had just left where we arrived. But I did get to see him in London at Prince Albert Theatre and I had a front row seat. We had our love affair from my seat to him on the stage. It was a performance I shall never forget.

I have heard of whipping with extension cords, wooden coat hangers and hair brushes, which are tools used to express anger. Our American experience has been one of physical and mental abuse and we as a people have come a long way in learning the correct forms of discipline. Your grandmother only did what was passed down to her from previous generations. I also had to go out and get that peach tree switch, (which hold parallels to a whip). If you think back on your upbringing, the words or expressions of discipline had more influence on you than the cord.

While the court said its reversal was not due to these transgressions, since the case had turned primarily on circumstantial evidence, it nevertheless concluded "the conduct of the prosecuting attorney in this case demonstrated her disregard of the notions of due process and fairness, and was inexcusable."[13] Carr was freed in 2004 when The Georgia Supreme Court ruled unanimously that Fulton County had waited too long to retry him.

Other courts have criticized Grace's conduct even while upholding convictions in her cases. In a 2005 opinion, a panel of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals said Grace "played fast and loose" with her ethical duties and failed to "fulfill her responsibilities" as a prosecutor in the 1990 triple murder trial of Herbert Connell Stephens. She failed to turn evidence over to his defense team that pointed to other suspects. The court noted that it was "difficult to conclude that Grace did not knowingly" elicit false testimony from a police investigator that there were no other suspects despite strong evidence to the contrary.

Don't forget that regardless to what the media has depicted for us, that the Jacksons, except Michael, were a pretty closly knit family. There are uncles and aunts and nieces and nephews that will pitch in with these children. they will only need that nanny until they are comfortable. I truly feel that those children, left with the Jackson family, will be very happy and experience a great life being with people who will love them. They had been really cut off from society with Michael. Althought I hate that they are without their father, I think that a new world will open for them that will be a good world of love with family.

They also said today that there was a 3rd name on the legal guardianship papers beside Joe and Katherine. But the reporters didn't know who.

I find it difficult to believe that Michael would have included his father on that list. I was surprised to learn that he was even, really, a part of the family since he lives in another place. Mrs. Jackson has been a loving mother and I think that she and her children will make an wonderful life for these children. So far they have had a really unusual life because of their father.....and it didn't seem to be the life of normal children. Maybe in trying to protect them, Michael was doing the same thing to them that he said was done to him. Children have to have others around to be socialized.

Hopefully, it's a 'guardian ad litem' Someone whose sole interest is to look our for the kids.

Her father became very ill one rainy night and the paramedics' rescue took considerably longer than usual. She was hot! I really want Katherine to have the kids. Mike took care of that WHOLE family which I am sure is one of the reasons for his debt. So Katherine having the kid makes sure that the money continues to flow to the Jackson family. If/when they redo Neverland the debts will clear and they will be straight. Reported today that two of the Jackson sons met with the Neverland developer over the weekend.

I've always wondered about that. Are they legally separated or are they old-school "separated"...meaning, they're legally married to maintain the benefits but live apart to maintain their sanity, appearing together at family events (i.e. funerals, some family reunions) as is necessary.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Iraqis welcomed the Tuesday deadline for American troops to leave their towns and cities with a street festival in Baghdad, though fears of renewed violence tempered celebrations of what their government called "National Sovereignty Day."
Newscasters on the state television network Al-Iraqiya draped Iraqi flags around their necks as an onscreen clock counted down to midnight Monday. Earlier Monday evening, hundreds of people danced and sang in a central Baghdad park to mark the U.S. pullout.
"I feel the same way as any Iraqi feels -- I will feel my freedom and liberation when I don't see an American stopping an Iraqi on the street," said Baghdad resident Awatef Jwad.
